Went for my father's 79th birthday with family from out of state. Good service. Really nice space. The lunch menu and beverage menus were perfect. Great vegan options. Will definitely be back soon!

The last time I came to Sitar was 6 years ago in college and since then it’s gotten a lovely renovation. The interior is elegant and clean, and the staff are super welcoming and attentive. I loved the vegetable parkora and paneer pakora as well as the mango lassi which was both tangy and sweet! The malai kofta is spiced well but also has a creamy buttery finish, which pairs well with the chilli cheese naan. Overall, an excellent spot for classic Indian fare in a setting that’s great for a meal when you have guests in town but also for a casual weekday meal too!

Absolutely marvelous dinner at Sitar. Service was attentive and very pleasant, and the food was amazing from the beginning and kept getting better with each course. Was our first dining experience here, and we will most definitely return!

We were visiting from out of town and came here based off the reviews. We were very impressed with how delicious the food was. And the prices were fantastic for New Haven. The lunch portions were very generous and the service staff was kind.

Absolutely a must do for lunch. We got saag paneer, lamb Madras, and tandoori chicken tikka. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the portions were perfect. Bonus points for having great music playing too!

Extremely impressed with our order of veggie samosas, baingan bharta, saag paneer, butter chicken, and lamb vindaloo. The veggie dishes were particularly delicious. Friendly service.

I'm updating my review because I've been there several times recently. Never had a bad meal. Seriously, everything I've ever had there is great. Staff are really friendly. I've gone in there several times close to closing time and they are very accommodating and get us seated and our food quickly. Really great experience. Great meals!

Great place! I love this place soo much! Favorite Indian restaurant in the area. 😋 The vegan and vegetarian options are never disappointing. The servers are also fantastic and always give the best service

Delicious food, beautiful renovated space on the corner of Orange and Grove, excellent prompt service, friendly atmosphere. 10/10 — one of New Haven’s best restaurants, and has been around for a while so you know it’s tested. Always a great meal.
