Diorio Restaurant & Bar

We ate here 2 nights in a row during our stay in Waterbury for a family funeral. Once with a group of 12, and then with a group of 4. Service was some of the best I've experienced in a long time. The servers were on point, friendly, and knew their business! Drinks were well crafted, as were all the meals we ordered. Highly recommend! We had our meal cut short one evening due to a bomb threat. They graciously packed all uneaten meals quickly and were professional in getting guests evacuated quickly and safely.

One of the best dinners I’ve ever had!! Best lobster bisque. Best calamari. Pasta dishes are TOP TIER. The drink/wine selection is extensive and staff is excellent. Servers are prompt and ready to answer any question. If you’re looking for a sign to visit Diorio, THIS IS IT!!! My wife and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here. CHEERS!

OMG!!! By far the BEST Italian restaurant I have EVER been too!!! The food was AMAZING!!! Absolutely AMAZING!!! Had the house Martini, clams casino, Chilean Seabass w/risotto, and my hubby had shrimp w/penne. I highly recommend this hidden gem!!! Tara was very helpful, and kind. We loved her too! They open @ 5pm, so lunch is a no go. Nice vibes…

Diorio’s is a real diamond in the rough! It has such a lovely atmosphere with great wait staff. The food was absolutely delicious, tuna tartare was light and decadent, while the calamari with Thai chili sauce had amazing flavor. The scallop risotto was the best scallop dish we ever had, they were cooked perfectly. The broccoli rabe and sausage was very rich and delicious. Couldn’t ask for a better experience!

I took my wife there for special occasion. Made sure to let waiter know we were in no hurry. He was very respectful. His name was Art. We started the dinner with soup. French onion and lobster bisque. The bisque was the best ever. The French onion was superb. Apps were calimari and sausage and broccoli rabe. . Then penne ala vodka for her and veal Diorio for me with spinach and mashed potatoes. Very good. Desert was NY cheese cake and creme brulee. The cheese cake was average. If they ever had mine they we know what I am talking about. . This place takes you back in time . I would highly recommend.

Great pre-theater dinner this Wednesday. Good food and wine list, friendly, professional service in a charming historical venue. Try the specials, delicious!!!

When traveling for work I try super hard not to eat at chains and tonight did not disappoint.

This had to be one of the best chicken parmesan dishes that I've had in ages. I wish I lived in CT to come back here but I know it's here if I'm ever passing through again.

The Lemoncello Martini was also a win on my book.

I was shocked at the level of quality food and the historic artifacts and memorabilia of times past that adorn the walls, seats everything. When you walk in you're taken back to the 1920's. I highly recommend this restaurant

Diorios is truly the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is phenomenal, the wait staff, bartenders and food runners never disappoint. The atmosphere is classy, romantic, not too loud and it’s like stepping into an old school real Italian restaurant. The bar is one of a kind, the cocktails: perfection. I can’t say enough about Mario and what he has built over the years. There is nothing better! Five stars every single time, the PERFECT dining experience.

Diorio is a wonderful, old school steakhouse. The ambiance, food, and service is excellent. I have only been there a few times due to the distance from my home, but I want to go back soon when I am in the area. It is my understanding that they are temporarily closed for renovation. I hope they don't change too much because the old world charm was warm and inviting. My favorites are the shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque and the melt in your mouth filet mignon. Can't wait to return for yet another wonderful experience.

Came here tonight for dinner to celebrate my graduation and the food was phenomenal, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the drinks were out of this world. If you are in the area...don't hesitate to come here

Great restaurant! The food is always delicious and perfectly prepared. The service is always good too. There are some new lunch specials and menu items and I enjoyed one yesterday. I had the blackened fresh yellowfin tuna sliced over a salad of lightly dressed arugula. It was wonderful!
Diorio never disappoints.

First time dining @ Diorios. Everything was excellent from the service (Thanks JT!) to the food (you can taste the homemade quality) we will definitely be back soon!

Two nights in a row! Soon followed by a third. I must love it. Perfect shrimp scampi.
Ribeye was a poor cut of meat beautifully prepared and the wait staff was perfect.

Wonderful time, really nice renovations. The food was wonderful. We had the bruchetta bread, and the stuffed long hots for appetizers. Ordered the 16 oz ribeye, cooked to my order. Desserts were phenomenal. A very good time. Worth the money for the high quality all around.

We meet friends at Diorios 2 or 3 times a year and have always had a wonderful dinner experience. The physical surroundings are evocative of an earlier era with roomy booths and a tin ceiling, the wait staff is always welcoming, informative and well trained and the food has always been excellent. If you go, make sure you have the bananna banofie pie for dessert.

Absolutely fabulous place, food and service. I ordered Escargot appetizer which was amazing, not too garlicky but just enough, then for dinner I had the ribeye topped with gorgonzola that was so tender and delicious I am still dreaming about it. For dessert I tried the white mousse cake with oreo crust. It was simply out of this world. It had a creamy smooth taste, not too sweet. Service was 5 star, that old school classic style that is so missed today. It's such a stunningly beautifully place you wont want to leave.

Enjoyed a pleasant Monday evening, with freshly prepared appetizer, salad and veal milanese! Cindy was a nice server and attentive throughout our meal courses. Banana banoffi :)
