Very reasonable pricing, very generous portions of very good sushi. I really liked the volcano roll, the different tunas. Quiet, friendly atmosphere. I think it's a good sign when you see Japanese people eating at a Japanese restaurant.

Went for dinner and got there sets. Reasonably priced for the portion size and pretty darn yummy. Restaurant was small but clean. Staff were attentive and sweet. Good date night option.

My friend recommended we go here after much deliberation over where to go for a dinner reunion. My first time at Sono Bana and the experience was a memorable one. The waitresses and staff were so respectful and attentive. I got the sushi set (seaweed salad, two rolls, and 7 pcs of sushi/sashimi), while my friends got the dinner box special. The sushi tasted very fresh, and the presentation was solid. The only con about this place would be the parking, as it was pretty limited. Overall a great place to enjoy sushi and I will definitely be back (... with the bros of course)!

Beats many sushi restaurants in downtown New Haven. Fresh and reasonably priced. Very good value for money. Worth a trip to Hamden.

Very lovely and beautiful place with a peaceful setting. The food was delicious and it was also a good price.

The best part was the kind and sweet staff. The owner (a man) was very kind, and he even closed the restaurant later for us since my friend and I got there later and stayed 30 minutes after closing. The waitress was a kind lady and everyone was very nice.

I wish I could have given more of a tip since the lovely staff deserved it! I recommend trying and going because this place is really a hidden gem! This was my first time and I never write reviews, but I was happy with the kind service and quality sushi.

This restaurant serves excellent Japanese food. Their chef is from Japan. Can’t get high quality food anywhere else. Highly recommend!

Appreciated the service provided by the waitstaff.. very attentive and friendly and elevated the experience of which the food is presented and very good, very fresh!! Had the 15 piece sashimi and eel sushi 🍣.. I recommend both.

I go here every once in awhile when im in the mood for sushi and its never disappointing. The sushi is made really well and the inside looks nice. Ive never had a problem with them and the chefs love what they do. Definitely worth stopping in if you want a new place to eat.

I don’t know where they source their salmon, but it is the BEST raw salmon in new haven. It’s so succulent and is delicious each and every time I order. Reliable, delicious, great portions, reasonably priced, quickly delivered - I’ve ordered sushi all across new haven, and I won’t order from anyplace else now.

I stopped in while traveling. I enjoyed the food. The prices aren't amazing, but fair. Service was the same, not amazing but fair!

The reason I am giving 5 stars to this sushi restaurant is because there was a bidet in the bathroom. I have never used a bidet but of course I had to use it. It was pretty cool, l would go back to this restaurant just for the bidet.

My family's favorite sushi spot for nearly 20 years. It's always quality sushi at a really affordable price. All the special rolls are delicious but the eel tempura and spider tempura rolls are my fave!

Love this local place. Once you are inside the door, you will feel like family thanks to the awesome hospitality of their amazing staff. The first thing you may notice is the sushi chef in the back corner. He is always serious and when it comes to the taste of the sushi and sashimi you may come to understand why.

This restaurant subtly pushes the diner to come to a place of appreciation for Japanese culture. The decor and friendly atmosphere makes this place feel like a staycation. On a snowy afternoon, try any of their soups.
