A large park smack-dab in the middle of New Haven with plenty of green space, sitting areas, walking paths, and bus stops! There's also plenty of parking surrounding the green and nearby. There's also tons of shops and restaurants around, should you need a change of scenery! The Green's especially beautiful when the Cherry Blossoms bloom! Lots of lively people around too!

This is a place you can come to everyday. I live in New Haven and I am here often. The buses stop here on all sides of the green depending on were you want to go. The beautiful city hall is on one side, a Court House, the Library, three Churches are all around the green. The Chapel St. side where a lot of people wait for the bus is what people find a bit uncomfortable. But for the most part everyone is cool.

Very nice place an spacious but lots of homeless people hanging around an asking for hand outs but otherwise if you can overlook that issue it's great place to have a walk an check out the historical sights Around it

I, had a relaxing time, sitting on various park benches, and snacking of foods, from the nearby stores: CVS and Rite Aid. A variety of individuals, passed through the park, on Easter Weekend, and social services, passed out supplies, and food, to the local homeless. A City bus hub, right there, in downtown: New Haven, CT-the park, is a convenient connection, for public transport, and the free City bus, back to the New Haven Amtrak train stain, and Greyhound bus, station. The park, is surrounded, by City Hall, a police subunit station, many small stores and restaurants, as well as several, historical religious buildings.

Cute clean area. Love that it is great for walking and situated in a high traffic area with a lot of transportation options. Very clean and calming.

The New Haven Green is beautiful with a rich and long history. I live about 5 blocks away and love going to the yearly Arts & Ideas festival they have on the green in addition to the yearly Christmas tree lighting ceremony. I will say the green can also be a semi-dangerous area as well (to be expected in a downtown city) but the two sides of the green that serve as bus stations/stops can be a "hot-spot". But when there's planned events there it is very safe as the NHPD are always present.

Nice day although a little cold . Wasn't to much drug activity downtown so that's always a plus .

A vibrant quad with energetic people! Saw people celebrating Argentina winning FIFA World Cup championship when I visited. And it is just beside the Yale campus so you can see the historic buildings of Yale at the same time!

I love being down on the green..there is a lot to see and do. I can kind of imagine what it might have been 150 years ago. There is A LOT of history there with plaques telling stories. There are a lot of stores off the green and the elm trees (that are huge) make the difference.
Anything you want to eat is within reach.

Halloween Weekend made it an interesting time to visit Downtown. The Green can have many different faces depending on the event or time of year.

This is one of the oldest public spaces in the United States, founded in 1638. The declaration of Independence was read out here. Before that it was a hiding place for three English republican officers featured in my book, In the Name of the Crown. Whalley, Goffe and Dixwell had signed the death warrant of King Charles 1 of Britain, and fled on the return of his son.

Pretty darn green, lemme tell you. It's also definitely in New Haven. 100% lives up to it's name, and I appreciate that.
