Hawkwood Game Cafe

This is such a nice addition to downtown Milford. The cafe is clean, well organized, and they have a variety of games to play. Everyone pays $5 at the door and you are welcome to stay and play as many games as you want to try. They have snack items, unlimited popcorn, unlimited coffee, drinks, cookies and sandwiches. The owner is friendly and attentive and really makes you feel welcome. Check it out, you should find some game you have never heard of or just play one of the classics, either way you will have a great time.

One of my favorite places ever, honestly! A great selection of games and the entrance fee is reasonable. Plus, there's good coffee, soda, and snacks like pretzels and popcorn. Can get busy at times - there's been at least one time where we couldn't go because it was too crowded. It's usually not so bad though. A great place to spend a few hours.

I found this place about 6 months ago or so and I told my brother-in-law who is a big magic fan the card game. He started going to the Friday night drafts that they have for tournaments and loved it. I stopped by a couple of times and stayed and played my own games of chess with some people there and I also got acquainted with the Pandemic board game. This is a great place to hang out with the family or a group of friends you can even BYOB. They have a great selection of games to choose from so if you're looking to try again before buying it or maybe you like to play a game but nobody else is around is a great option. I also love their cinnamon tea with a little bit of there organic honey. This is such a fun place and great location

Amazing place! The staff was friendly and accommodating and very knowledgeable about the games. They helped pick out some great ones that my 7-year-old could play with us! Excellent value, ease of parking, we will definitely be going back!

Had a fun awesome game night. The owner is extremely kind and engaging. Found me different groups of people to play fun games with. Even let me warm up when my cars battery died after closing hours in his shop. Fun place filled with good people. 5 stars!!!.

One of our new favorite places to hang out! The assortment of games they have is amazing and the snacks and coffee deals while you play are what make the experience complete. But the best part about this place is the incredibly friendly and wonderful staff, who make sure you’ve got everything you need while you enjoy a nice round of your favorite game.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The game and snack/drink selection is great. I've spent a lot of money here, and it's always well spent. Playing games is trickier now in person, due to Covid, but they are working hard to make it still happen. If you're looking for a great place to buy games, play games, or just talk about games, this is it.

I totally dig this place. I have been several times with my kids and with friends and it has always been a good experience. The cost of admission is very reasonable (as is the cost of snacks and drinks), and the owner is great at suggesting good games to try out. For the money, you will be hard pressed to find a better way to spend your day.

Definitely worth checking out! This is a great place to try out games you've never played before. Owner Ryan welcomed our group of 3 with friendliness and passion, offered us helpful game recommendations, and made sure we had a good experience. We played 9 different games over 7 hours, for only $5 each!

Absolutely adorable place with a great selection of games. I came back from Korea wishing that we had board game cafes back home, so I was overjoyed to find this place—also has nice snacks and drinks. Entrance fee is very affordable. Thank you for running such a great place!

The owner Ryan is fabulous and always makes everyone feel welcome. Ive been there many times. Ive had family game night, my sons bday party, a meet up group, for Pokemon, and went with only one other person. Everytime we go its wonderful.

A great space full or friendly people. If you enjoy social gaming - Pokemon, MTG, DnD, or board games, this is a must. The staff and people were wonderfully helpful and inviting. They also have a decent cup of coffee and snacks available. BYOB if that is your thing as well. Do stop by and support this great place!

If only I could be closer! An incredible and unique cafe that has an exceptionally large collection of board and card games. The owner knows his way around every board game available. Snacks and drinks are provided, though guests looking to partake in alcoholic beverages must bring their own. There's nothing quite like learning a new board game with friends and wine.

This place is awesome! Ryan, the owner, is so nice and welcoming. Everyone who works there is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They really care about their customers. I bring a group every so often to play Magic and we all look forward to it every single time.

If you haven't been to Hawkwood Game Cafe, yet, you NEED to get there! Ryan, the owner, has created en enjoyable atmosphere for any age group! This recreational spot can truly fit any age group! Whether it's a rainy day, or a weekend out with friends, Hawkwood Game Cafe is the spot to go!

Fun place to go with your family or friends to grab some beers and play board/card games. Staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and nice.

They also do Magic the Gathering and other hardcore gamer type games, so the customers tend to look like they would cut you in line for hall H at comicon.

Three words: cozy, friendly, nerdy. I love it. I always wanted a place like this nearby. The owner is super nice and they have a wide selection of games. The hours are also great. Hope this place sticks around awhile!

This place is the perfect way to spend the afternoon. 5 dollars for access to a table and the boardgames. Their cookies are heavenly. The coffee is strong. The owner is friendly and social. Great way to make a few friends during an event.

I've been there twice so far for Trivia Night (Thursday night) and it was a lot of fun each time. Ryan, the owner, and his wife Hannah were so accommodating and sweet! I'll be coming back here regularly and will be recommending this place to my friends. (Another bonus is that they sell vegan ice cream sandwiches!)

My husband and I are renting the space to have our baby shower! The owner (Ryan) is so easy to work with,offers his help for a wonderful party experience, and charges a very fair rental rate for the space! It is certain to add a special environment (with great character) for our shower!
