Gipper's Restaurant & Ale House

We had the best time here. Met the owner, he was great and cared about his patrons! we got a hawaiian pizza and medium buffalo chicken tenders. Lemme tell ya - the tenders medium was all I needed. They were actually pretty spicy! And the pizza is greek style...a little thicker crust with the BIG pineapples on it. We were there to watch football and the atmosphere was great!

Ate here on last day of a long vacation. Our server Richie was awesome. Great recommendations and helpful for local places to find. Food was great. Get the wings! A little loud but it is a bar.

This is a restaurant that does not require an introduction as it's been a staple of the community for over 27 years. When you think of a small town place or a date night that you can make your future place for life (as long as the relationship works) you will find it here. The food doesn't come out at McDonald's speed which only adds to the quality and time they take to perfect the food, between the French onion soup that has caramelized translucent onions and allows every bite a new experience. If you find yourself in Milford CT , come down for a "Cheers" type of environment where everyone does know your name after one visit.

Had a team training event in Milford for the week! 14 people in from 4 states. Started off with the football game on Sunday. Then brought everyone for dinner Tuesday night. Richie was great. Going to make this a regular stop during our work events!

We stopped in to have a drink. There was sports playing on all televisions, the bartender was mostly occupied tsking shots with some patrons at the end of the bar most of my visit. There was music playing, not by DJ. This was not my type of spot as I prefer a different type of music and atmosphere. I offer no recommendation either way, just sharing my experience and sentiments.

Cozy tavern with lots of locals, great food, local craft beers, and a full bar. The online jukebox was a hit with cool tunes playing the whole time, too. Perry, behind the bar, was slinging drinks and running food and still taking the time to engage in conversation with each of the customers bellied up to the bar. If you're in the area, definitely give Gipper's a try, you won't be disappointed!

I enjoyed my visit to this location, The food was very tasty & excellent service thanks to (Ricky). Great place to hang out and grab a bite!!!

We were just passing through for our anniversary weekend and we wanted something to eat and drink that had local flavor. This was it! It reminded me of our favorite bar from home. Full of locals and with a really great bartender! Anytime we're in the area we will be sure to stop in!

Hands down the best pizza I've had in many years! So many TVs! The co owner Perry is great. The music is classic rock/80's rock (the best of it too). Clean and friendly. Beers on tap and great food (as I've said). HIGHLY RECOMMEND! there's a hotel or two nearby and a couple of truck stops. If you have the time, make this A MUST stop!

We went here while staying in CT. It was a last minute decision for dinner. Loved the food. Only small problem was we were one of three tables and waited 45 mins for two burgers, one chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. But, the food made the wait worth it!!!

Was in on Tuesday with a group here on a training event. Richie was awesome and his service was phenomenal. Thank you for the great time!!

What a bar - great local spot - hidden gem! Food is solid.

I absolutely love this place! Low key this place has great food. Not only does it have a great environment for a bar, with a pool table and open patio, it has the option of coming here for dinner and drinks! Highly recommend try the Cajun Burger!

Local gem!!!! I got the the patty melt with added bacon. It was amazing so I had to order another one..🙃. The owners, service and drinks were amazing! Great hole in the wall bar. Perfect location if you are stuck near the mall.

I always enjoy my visit to this location. Cold drinks and excellent service. I also had the French onion soup which was superb with bread sticks on the side.

Great old-school bar. I walked in and they were blasting Guns N Roses. They had me since then . Really relaxed and chill place. Sports on all screens then one of my favorite movies ever on one screen Young Guns .

Came here for a wedding after party and had a blast. They had karaoke and the bartender was very friendly. They also had a backyard which was nice.

I came, I drank, I ate. The Gipper himself served me beverages from his eclectic draught list and they were delicious. Lines are clean and no off tastes were detectable as compared to the bougie beer bars one would find in Manhattan where notes of bananas and band-aids are synonymous with everything one orders from a tap.

I asked Mr. Gipper what is best on the menu, he told me “the ribs”. I said I’ll order “the ribs and chicken”. He said “the chicken is chicken”. I ordered it anyways and he was right. The chicken was sub-par but the ribs were bangin’. I ate them two ribs at a time instead of one because I’m a show-off and was one-upping the man who worked at the retirement home nearby that ate his wings in one bite. He used too much ranch so my showmanship was really just compensation.

At the end of the night the barman turned down the music and went to smoke, as well as call his old lady. He left myself and 4 gentleman of advanced age to fend for ourselves. Only one of them jumped across the table and drank from the tap like Homer Simpson drinking a slushie at Apu’s convenience store.

I left a lone and confident $100 bill and walked the 6 minutes back to the Hyatt hotel. The Gipper deserved it all and more. If only I had had 2 Benjamins instead of one.
