An awesome little hiking/walking area! I'm a wedding photographer and have gone here with clients for engagement session photos. Beautiful wildlife is nearby, the bride is very cool and unique, and the area is safe and clean in my experience. You should definitely check it out!

This is a gorgeous walk across the marshes - also very easy, flat and straight. Google has three parking areas, but you really want one of the two ends. You can take it from the center of Stony Creek to the railroad tracks in Branford, and it's lovely all the way.

What a beautiful trail. This trail is very well maintained and is a very easy walk with the most incredible views. I really enjoyed my time there and loved all the wild life and being so close to nature.

Beautiful stroll on a wide graveled former railroad. Great views of the Salt marshes.
Parking in this area is tight and there is an awkward tree that you gotta watch for when backing in. You'll know if you hit it.

Nice short walk that can lead you to the Stony Creek Thimble Island Ferry Dock if you walk a little further.

Very popular trail along old trolley tracks, flat and short but several side trails that are a bit more challenging with even better views of the salt marshes and birds.

Great place to go for a walk, but don't. Seriously, it's nice because not a lot of people go there. So if you went there, it would be less nice. Just take my word for it. It's nice, but we'd all be better off if you went elsewhere.

This is an beautiful and serene path through several marsh areas. It's a fairly short walk, and it is good for really any fitness level. There is a raised footbridge through part of it, an old trolley bridge, and some great rock formations. Plus a ton of wildlife around. The views are amazing. The sound of the wind blowing through the seagrass and reeds is like a living meditation. Don't miss this one.

This is an amazing wetland / forested hike. We have seen fox, deer, osprey, several species of sandpiper, and egrets.
There are many walkers, joggers and bicyclists that share the trail so be aware that not everyone is into nature... this appears to be a trail that not many know about ... even the locals ... so enjoy and share with a smile.

One of my favorites. Be sure to take the spur trail in summer (just on the Stony Creek side of the concrete bridge) to see inside the osprey nest! You'll want binoculars, but you can see a little bit even with your naked eye.

I visit the area for one reason and that being the ospreys who take up residence right off the boardwalk which is roughly 1/4 mile from the parking lot. This family offers great photo ops into the lifes of these majestic birds and for a different view point take the short hike too the top of the rock cliffs. It let's one look down into the nest rather than viewing it head on. FYI ... The ospreys will be migrating south within the next 3 weeks. Somewhere around mid August.

A very pleasurable walk along the former trolley bed. The main path is flat and straight. It cuts through the tidal marsh and makes for wonderful viewing of nesting Osprey, water fowl, guls and more. In low tide, see the crabs skitter across the mud and in high tide, schools of fish flow through the channels. Off the main path, there are several loops through the woods. Explore the oak forest and find glacial outcrops with stunning views of the marsh and Long Island Sound.

Short and not difficult, the trail is easily approachable by the entire family. Leashed dogs are welcome. Please pick up after them.

Beautiful salt marsh and Sound views. Ospreys and egrets abound. Nice level pathway and usually plenty of dogs and cyclists to say hi to. My favorite walk in town.

Nice relaxing walk. Came across a trail biker, a jogger, a family taking pictures and three unleashed dogs. Dogs were behaved but still should be placed on a leash when in sight of other dogs.

So much bang for your buck in this walk! Less than 2 miles round trip with beautiful water views, long boardwalks, & a stunning bridge.

One of the most beautiful walks in all the Shoreline and views of many Osprey nests and nesting pairs.
