John & Maria's Pizzeria-Restaurant

Words can barely express how delicious the food is here, but I’ll try. Staff and owners are super nice, like a small family. They have the BEST FOOD, it’s all made by hand, they make their own sausage, anything with the sausage in it is amazing. Best stuffed mushrooms I have ever had hands down, best pizza, everything I have ever ordered has been super delicious. It’s owned by a brother and sister, John and Maria, the first time I came in, they walked me through the hole menu, and when they handed me my food, I got it to go, they said, “ this is a meal made with love” and you can tell. 👍 I will absolutely be coming back here if I’m ever back in town. I was in town building a local dispensary, here for about 2 months and ate here about 3-4 times a week for dinner, couldn’t get enuff! Well done John And Maria! I travel all over America for work, and you have been one of the top places I have ever been too!

Me and my wife like to do lunch date whenever we can fit it into our busy lifestyle (3 kids) and on this day we decided to treat ourselves to a meatball sub and as always the flavor was just to good, juiciness from the meatballs 🤤 and the sauce 💯. Never a disappointed!! Picture says it all.

We have been here a couple times over the past few years, and it's always amazing food and service. The atmosphere is fantastic, and I believe our server is almost always a gentleman by the name of vinny. He is always very pleasant and watchful. If we lived closer, I'm pretty sure we'd be here every week. Highly recommended

Last week, my mother & I found ourselves hungry at the right time & place. It was our first time there since we don't live in the area. We are very happy we stopped to try it. Our waiter was the bartender who was a gentleman w/us. He learned it was our first time & gave us a chance to sample the two different types of bread offered. The food was delicious & exact to the menu. He was conscious about anything we needed at our table, even with it being busy. I hope writing a review over a week later shows just how much this place impacted us! We definitely want to go back. My mother even says she wishes there was one closer to us (we live in the valley.) We could tell families from your area love your restaurant & we see why! 🙂

I was a guest with a group of 15 on June 12, 2024 after my Granddaughters HS Graduation. From the moment we walked it the atmosphere and the Csre we received from the Stsff was absolutely amazing! Our Waitress was unbelievable she was on her game for everything she didn’t miss a beat! I did call to speak to the Mgr or Owner they will return my. call , I am excited to share the Super evening we enjoy at their restaurant! Thank you from “gigi” (Linda)

Went here with my wife, my children, my sister, and my sister's children. Our server was great. Between all of us, we got a large cheese pizza, a gluten-free pizza, meatball Parm subs, fried mozzarella (for appetizer), and chicken Parm dinner. We were all happy with our food. It was a good atmosphere.

Wonderful place! We had awesome gluten free pizza and pasta. Warm, friendly environment. Highly recommend!

Had a great time visiting J&Ms. We’re visiting family in a nearby Shoreline town and wanted to get some good New Haven-style pizza before heading back home to the South. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was very friendly and had crayons for our preschooler in tow. Good selection of beer and wine and the salad was very good. Parking, atmosphere, remodeled bathrooms all make this place a better choice for many that want more of a pizza restaurant vs just a small storefront with limited seating so keep that in mind if that is what you’re looking for. We will be back next time we’re visiting family and want to go out for pizza!

Sat., June 10, 2023... First, we are not from the East Haven area. Second, we had a couple of hours "to kill" in between sessions of a bodybuilding competition at East Haven High School; and we chose John & Maria's to have lunch. There were 9 of us, and we sat outside on their covered patio; very nice ambience. We ordered one large bacon, onion pizza and then each ordered a salad or a sub/grinder.
I got the STEAK BOMB... oh, my goodness, that sandwich was out of this world...and I seldom eat red meat! The roll was crunchy on the outside, soft, light and sumptuous on the inside. The steak was was chopped, hot cherry peppers, cheese, mayo. tomato and lettuce... but that bread.. WOW, the perfect sandwich, took half home and had it today (yum!). Mom got the sausage & peppers, raved about it completely. One son got the chicken parm grinder, raved, too. Another hot the turkey melt, 2 thumbs up... but again, the roll was the star! The pizza had enough char on the crust to be delicious without being too over done....just perfect. Two members got salads and the portions were plentiful.
If we are ever back that way, I will definitely stop back in! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Oh, and our server... (oops, forgot his name!) was personable, kind and attentive. 2 thumbs up for him, too!

If you're looking for New Haven apizza but don't want to wait two hours for pizza served by a rude staff in New Haven you need to come here.

John and Maria's holds it's own against any of the big 3 in New Haven. My wife and I have been ordering from here since we moved here 2 years ago and I've never had a bad experience.

We've been going to John and Maria's since we've moved out to CT from CA a few months ago. Their pizza is awesome, thin crust and always the right amount of cheese and sauce while still hot where the cheese stretches from the serving dish. My favorite would be their calamari, simple, delicious, and not overly greasy. The tiramisu is my go to dessert every time, and I usually take one to go and it holds up well the next day; not running at all. They also do seasonal dishes and drinks depending the time of the year. Every time we go I make an effort to try something I haven't had before and I must say I have not been disappointed. The eggplant rollatini is another great one to try. Their sub sandwiches are a good size with generous amounts of meat and fixings. This time around I tried their Fall Sangria- definitely recommend trying it. Overall a good restaurant with something for everyone.

Great food, great service. The waitress was knowledgeable of the menu. The pizza was super good. Margherita was a little watery in the middle but no big deal to me. The photo is broccoli rabe and sausage. Very generous portions of both on the pizza. Overall I was very satisfied.

The best pizza is Margherita. The saltiest is pepperoni. We always go back for a large Margherita and freeze slices. It is incredibly good.

Jen is an amazing server and a great person my family and I had GREAT time last night!

I happened to be in the area for a lacrosse tournament and stopped in at the end of a long day. I was so impressed with the friendly staff and amazing home style food. The most memorable is the "Mama-Mia" pizza !! I will return just for the that perfect crust !!

Awesome pizza and great management! I love trying out new pizza joins and I’ll gladly say this place makes my top 10. The mozzarella they use is super fresh and the owner was nice and helpful on what to order. They offer 3 sizes for their pies, depending on how hungry you are, and have a variety of other Italian foods that you can try out. Make sure to stop by if you’re in the area.

Salad Issa Bussin! Definitely mos-definitely pulling up more often if time permits @ Uber Eats Delivery is my 2nd to 3rd reason for the visitation/frequent.

Always delicious food and superb service. I invited friends from Tennessee here for dinner during their visit and they were amazed how good the pizza is. They ordered the Mamma Mia pizza which I never ordered in the past, it was so tasty it’s one of my favorite pies!
