New Haven City Parking Auth

Despite all the bad reviews, I went down here, explained my problem, and they fixed it. They had to make a bunch of calls and ended up fixing the issue at their own cost (thought it was their mistake to begin with). The manager was very friendly and helpful through the whole ordeal.

The phone number listed was incorrect, explaining other reviewers' frustrations with never getting called back. But I've just updated it with the correct one, so it should work moving forward.

I've been overdue in sharing that I'm so impressed by how well maintained the parking garage at Union Station is. I hadn't been there in about two years, and was pleasantly surprised by the updated tech upon entry. Moreover - I was parking on the top floor the morning after a snowstorm and it was almost completely cleared. On behalf of anyone needing a speedy way to park before catching the train - THANK YOU!

Very fair government establishment. Appeal process was simple and easy to understand.

Poor reviews? What a shock!!

We parked in a "NO STANDING" zone. Ok no problem. We weren't "standing" but we got a ticket anyway. Nowhere on the sign did it say "NO PARKING." I called to talk to someone, and while the person was nice and helpful, the answer we got was "no parking is included in no standing." Oh really? How were we supposed to be notified of this on the sign?

We used the website listed on the ticket to dispute it. There was a "dispute" button. NO communication, NO way to check on the status, NO way to provide feedback or ask questions.

Months later, we get an email saying they ruled that we have to pay the ticket. Again, the website has no information on this. It still says the ticket is "disputed."

Terrible communication from New Haven City Parking Authority.

I am absolutely appalled at the lack of professionalism this week by the NHPA. I have been calling daily and all I get is voice mail. There have been no attempts to return my call so that I can pay my bill. As it is I got the monthly statement two days before it was due to be paid. That was probably due to weather conditions. Are there really only two people who can handle this? It is very inconvenient for me to leave and go to the office and pay.

i paid multiple hundreds of dollars in fines for parking next to her apartment and when my car was towed and my best friend subsequently had a medical emergency, it was definitely not worth it for new haven city parking authority to receive my money and hurt our lives. who are they? heartless bureaucRATS.

new access control system installed without any notice... after a week of "invalid card" messages I finally find out a new debit card needs to be picked up in person!!! Thanks for the heads up and for being so considerate NHPA!

I used my credit card in a meter for 1.00 parking and they charged me 10.00 twice...unbelievable

Poor customer service, not sympathetic or willing to adjust tickets fees at all despite extenuating circumstances.

How can the website be down!? Impossible to find parking restrictions, bans etc. Very user unfriendly.
