Bertie's West Indian & American Restaurant

I was told Bertie’s had the best authentic Jamaican 🇯🇲food. So I went to give it try!
Oxtails Fresh✔ Rice was good ✔ beef patty hot ✔ overall the food experience was 10/10. Clean restaurant with fresh food. JUST TO ADD, the pineapple coconut 🥥 cake, is to die for ! Cake is fluffy & tasteful. Remained me of island island.

The staff was very pleasant and the food was great. Inside was super clean, freshly painted with calm music playing. Visiting from NY and some other visitors recommended Berties. Definitely a must if your in Waterbury.

By far best Jamaican in the city maybe the state. Not only the flavor but the portions as well! Jerk chicken is to die for!!!! Fall off the bone tender. Just amazing. EAT HERE! IM TELLING YOU!

Yum and wow!! I’ve never had anything that wasn’t absolutely delicious from Bertie’s! This is what I’ve had from there so far: chicken soup, chicken foot soup, jerk chicken, and curry goat. All great; and I would have all of them again in a heartbeat.

OMG! I have not had ackee and salt fish in so long and I am so glad I found this little gem. It was so delicious and a great price too, worth the trip from Meriden. I will definitely be back.

Their food is really good me and my boyfriend go there every week the oxtail is so tender he always gets the pepper steak and loves it. Our favorite is there mixed vegetables they are seasoned perfectly every time. Any greens that they have are always on point. definitely recommend a lot

One word: Delicious. I’m sceptical about trying new restaurants especially West Indian food. Then I tried Bertie’s, from their customer service, to their delivery down to the tender, flavorful Oxtails I ordered, I’m very pleased and will be going back for more.

I loveeeeeee berties they have some of the best curry goat and fried dumpling around and I love that they deliver.. They people there are always friendly and nice. The only thing I wish they'd add to their menu is roti. But I'll always keep coming back here.

The food was excellent and very exquisite. Service was quick and the person helping me behind the counter was very resourceful. Great service.

Have ordered from here on a few occasions and I was very pleased with everything from their food to pricing and their polite manner on the phone. Very authentic West Indian food. Very spicy but we loved it!
