Highly recommend the nachos which are home made chips order as an appetizer or a meal. Wash it down with a Waterbury Martini. Now let me trek you about these wings. Wow these wings........the heat, the crisp, the size, melt in your mouth, perfect amount of heat and spices. They accommodated our little one with something they wasn't on the menu. Clean atmosphere, friendly staff. We will most definitely be back

So very happy that Drescher’s is back in Waterbury. The owner did a beautiful job with the updates . The new bar in the back is a great addition. I had dinner there last night with a good friend and our daughters. The menu is not overwhelming , there is a great appetizer selection as well as a variety of main courses to choose from. There are even 3 German meals on the menu. We ended up with 2 steak meals( my youngest daughter is extremely picky and said it was the best steak she has ever had) 1 chicken meal , 1 salmon meal and 1 pasta meal. They were all delicious. The service was great, very happy and pleasant wait staff that were willing to answer all our questions. We will definitely be back. Welcome back Drescher’s!!!!!

It was amazing to be back at Dreschers during their reopening weekend. The restaurant is beautiful and the vibe was great. So much fun to be back. I ordered the chicken and it delicious. My daughter remarked that her steak was the best steak she had ever had. We had a great time and we will definitely be back-again and again!

Delicious food, Great location!
We had a fantastic dinner before a show at the Palace Theater. Parking is convenient in the YMCA lot across the street. We walked one block to the theater. Great selection of local beers on tap. We loved the Salmon, half chicken, and German specialties. Great dessert menu. One of the best, if not the best, restaurants in Waterbury!

My husband, a dear friend and myself anxiously awaited the reopening of Drescher’s Restaurant and we were not disappointed. The appetizers were delicious and our dinners (pork chops and steak) melted in our mouths. I have actually been craving the pork chops since and will definitely be heading back there soon. The timing of our meals was perfect- I tend to get aggravated when my meal comes out while still enjoying an appetizer and cocktail. The service was very good. Courtney was attentative and allowed enough time to pass to check in on how we were doing- even the manager (if I remember correctly - Holly) stopped by to check on us. Her smile and engagement made us feel very welcomed. The price point was acceptable, but we are looking forward to seeing a bar menu and happy hour specials since our heart really belongs in spending time with great friends for a relaxing evening and not always a sit down meal. Best of luck to Drescher’s- the venue is beautiful and inviting!

Ok...if you're looking for a place with delicious food and ambience then you have to stop in Drescher's. The exposed wood beams, lighting, and seating is warm and inviting. The food just as comforting. They have great service, a wide drink selection, the cauliflower appetizer was addicting, and the German throwbacks were nostalgic. Would definitely recommend.

I am not a connoisseur of German cuisine, but I can't say that I enjoyed my flank steak and my husband enjoyed his pork chop: they were delicious. They were well seasoned and they were prepared as requested-to the degree of doneness requested. That is an area some restaurants fail. Come enjoy the ambiance and a good beer.

(Copied from my Yelp Review)
My friends and I came for St. Patrick's Day. I cannot comment on the food, but I have to give 5 stars for Drescher's being Drescher's again. This establishment has always been one of the best things about Waterbury, for as long as I could remember, and it's apparent the new owner is keeping it true to it's name and reputation. I look forward to returning next time I'm home, and next time actually sitting down for something from the menu.

Wow! Drescher’s is back and the building looks amazing. Keeping with the traditional look and feel, but subtly adding a new, fresh touch - bringing the past into the future gracefully. We had appetizers and dinner- along with a few adult beverages and we left excited, full, and very delighted with where the new owner has taken the staple of downtown. George (new owner) and Holly (manager) made us feel right at home. The service was good...the bartender engaging... we will be back. Welcome back Drescher’s- working downtown will be fun once again.

There were four of us and we had drinks, apps, dinner and dessert to go. Everything was fresh and delicious!!! Our bill averaged out to $50 per person but that included 2 rounds of drinks as well so very reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and vibe. Highly recommend...we will be back!!

I am delighted to share this review of Drescher's Restaurant in Waterbury, CT. I visited the restaurant last night with my family of 5 and another couple. Last evening, from the moment we walked down the street, the wide open doors attracted us. All three sets of outside doors were open, welcoming guests with the fresh crisp spring air. The restaurant, as others have described it as "charming", is absolutely that. The moment you step into the restaurant, you have the feel of a mix of a Boston and NYC social culture. The restaurant is unique in that it has three different sections. Each section offers a different vibe. The hostess can be found in the center space, and can certainly direct you to the place that is right for you.

One space, has a "pub" like feel, with a long bar, pub tables, mild lighting and some background music. There are also large screen TV's mounted across the walls, to entertain guests with various sports and events.

The center room, also has dim lighting and candles, family and couple tables, soft music, well presented tables and offers a dinner menu. This center room offers a quieter setting inviting a more relaxing environment for a romantic meal for two or joining a family together.

The last room, the "garden room", I would describe as a hybrid of both in that it has elements such as a large TV, a bar, and dinner tables. The room was meticulously decorated...old world photos, clocks, and adorable coat hooks at every table. The "garden room" also serves a dinner menu. You can float between the bar for a drink prior to dinner, and then enjoy a meal while people or TV watching. It is my understanding that this room can host private events.

We decided to eat in the "garden room." We had a drink at the bar and the service was great... plenty of choices and the bartender had recommendations for us as well. The staff, from the beginning was attentive, responsive and are clearly happy to be there. Everyone looks professional, and treated guests warmly.

We began our meal by enjoying, two appetizers, a duck tot tot and an octopus and watercress salad. While waiting, our waitress brought us warm dinner rolls. The watercress salad was absolutely delicious...the octopus was thinly sliced under fresh, crispy watercress. The duck tot tot, was served steaming hot and eaten by my husband who described it as exceptional (while licking his lips). The price point was absolutely reasonable, given the size and quality.

We ordered several varied types of wine...Stags Leap, Robert Mondavi...what was great, was that there was a price point for everyone. The waitress knew to bring appropriate types of wine glasses that associated with the wine.

Our main meals were the tuna and the salmon, (the kids had varied items, and their plates were left empty). It was clear that both pieces were of high quality and incredibly fresh. My husbands tuna was (per his request) served nearly raw, and he claims was amazing. My salmon was savory, moist and served to perfection (which is hard to, as I like my fish well done). The prices are very fair in relation to the quantity and quality of the food.

The food was exceptional, we truly did not have room for desert. I did have a cappuccino and my husband an espresso-he had an after-drink also. We were there with another couple, and while I will not speak for the actual taste of their meals, I do know that they were very pleased.

I was told that the restaurant can get busy, the owner indicated calling ahead for reservations is a good idea on weekends. The owner was clearly "boots on the ground." He was navigating through tables, checking on guests...and totally invested in "service."

I would highly recommend Drescher's for multiple types of occasions, and you can certainly code switch at this restaurant, which I believe is the greatest advantage. Dependent on your mood or the company you keep, if all three rooms are available, you can access what works for you, the hostess is glad to guide you as well.

Fantastic place! Food was fantastic and so was the service. Owner George was super nice. Beautiful building. Still kept the gorgeous old features but modernized it so it is a great atmosphere as well. Definitely will be coming back!

This place is a Waterbury institution and I and so many others are thrilled that it is back open. The new Dreschers has the old school ambiance with an updated decor and a very warm feel, particularly in the newly redesigned “garden room.” The menu and staff are great. A previous review from Molly Don clearly did not take into consideration that this restaurant had been open for all of a couple of days, meaning that the kinks are still being worked out. Obviously Molly would not have left such a ridiculous review knowing this information. Dreschers will be a success for years to come if they keep up the good work.
