Food was amazing!! My favorite dish was the lobster bisque. Service was a little slow due to the popularity. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming.

Our favorite Friday happy hour bar. The grapefruit Martinis go down way to easily! Can't recommend just one thing from their menu, everything we have ever tried has been great! Don't expect to just walk in and get a seat at the bar, but there is a fairly steady turn over so if you're patient good chance you'll get a seat!

Excellent meal as always from Olio. Great menu options. Specials are always fresh and intriguing. Had the halibut special with French potato salad and yellow pepper sauce. Fish was well seasoned and flavorful. Only complaint would be that it may have been just a touch overcooked and thus a bit dry....this is preferable to underdone though....potato salad was refreshing on a hot day and the yellow pepper sauce was a nice compliment to both... My wife had the salad pizza which she said was excellent and enough for lunch the next day. For dessert we had the banana and chocolate ravioli with malted milk ball icecream....this was outstanding and more than enough to share....could easily have served 4 with it. Our waitress Stella and the entire wait team was attentive and courteous. We thank them for their work and efforts. Would definitely recommend for a nice evening out with friends or romantic dinner date.

Great food and amazingly large portions. We tried several different items and they were all delicious. It is a quite place with great service. Make sure to try the Bang Bang Shrimp. We told them to put the Korean Tempura Brussell Sprouts sauce on the shrimp. That would be an amazing appetizer. Thank you Danni for doing such a wonderful job.

Never tried this place until recently I ordered the lamb burger and lobster bisque and this is one place I'll definitely go again! great menu and awesome food. Not far from the hotel we stayed at and food was definitely delicious

This place is amazing. The manager was so kind and friendly! Our waitress Liz was so sweet and made us feel so welcome even though she was so busy and we were her farthest table. We really had a great meal and great service! THANK YOU LIZ.

Happened to be in the Groton area and stopped for lunch at Olio. Very nice outdoor patio with shade, lovely helpful staff and upscale, delicious appetizers. The calamari was light with great dipping sauces; the potato nachos were crunchy and flavorful. Highly recommend for an easygoing, enjoyable eatery.

Excellent exceptional customer service. The aromas are mouthwatering. The cuisine deliciously yummy and so heavenly. Reasonably priced entrees. Bring an appetite. Definitely worth the trip. The best part are the impeccable desserts which can be partaken or taken. 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Thumbs Up👍

There are lots of great restaurants in Groton-New London area but Olio’s is my favorite. It is my go-to restaurant for any occasion as well as take out. I might be accused of being bias but i literally have at least one lunch, one dinner, and one happy hour there every week. I have never had any bad meal there. You get plenty of food, gourmet cooking, a constantly changing specials menu that has unique and delicious options for new dishes, and excellent appetizers and signature cocktails. The service and staff there is exceptional especially Lisa behind the bar, Kim, Linda, Brandy, Stella, Adam, and the entire hostess staff. The picture below is the signature Field of Greens Salad with Blackened Salmon cooked to perfection and best in the area. Lastly, the desserts are equally delicious so be sure to same room. In my book this restaurant is the best for consistently excellent dining.

Let me start by saying, my husband works in the restaurant industry and going out to eat with him can be painful. Olio is a restaurant we visit a few times a year, and it has become our anniversary dinner restaurant. Their stuffed chicken dish is so good that we always know at least one of us is placing that order. We then argue over whether or not to order a new dish, and if we are willing to share! This is a restaurant where you do not want to pass up their special menu. It always surprises us. From dumplings, to seafood, to avocado icecream, we have tried some interesting dishes here and have rarely been disappointed. It didn't hurt that our most recent anniversary visit (8/30) we had the patio to ourselves (inside is always busy! Good sign!), and a firecracker of a waitress. Keep it up Olio.

Once again another amazing place to dine in!! Waitress was very attentive and supportive during my time there. Sadly I couldn't get the alcoholic Mocha's they had ☹ however the lava cake was insanely delicious!! Once again another place I would recommend without doubt!!

We were there around 8 p.m., so only had appetizers, salad, and a dessert. I had the falafel and hummus appetizer plate, the watermelon, blueberry and escarole salad, and the lemon mousse. All delish. My companion had the calamari appetizer, the same salad, and the carrot cake for dessert. A great late evening meal, very filling. Everything was great, the service was awesome, and the restaurant was very clean and well maintained.

Second review: 4/2024:

My companion and I split a hanger steak appetizer with portobello and gorgonzola with aioli. Unsure of a couple things with this dish. First of all, the portobello mushrooms were chopped small and there was a lot more chopped onion than mushrooms. When the menu says portobello mushroom, you imagine a mushroom cap, not scant chopped mushrooms. Second the aioli was a sauce, not the expected mayo kind of aioli. There was the steak, which was cooked to order and that was tasty.
We also had the burger and fries. The fries were nicely crisped. However the brioche roll was so soggy, we had to request another one, as it was not good.
So for this trip we were disappointed.
The wait staff was great.

5 Star experience!!!!! We went to Olio because of the great reviews and they were spot on. From entering to ordering an appetizer our server, Alana knew exactly what to recommend. She’s great. Actually we started with the shrimp appetizer and stuffed avocado and both were delicious. Then we ordered the Lobster linguine with asparagus, scallops & shrimp. It was al dentè. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Olio Restaurant & Bar!

First visit after driving by for years. Great first date spot. Nice atmosphere. Great food. Attentive staff. Will definitely return.

Phenomenal seafood options. Was with a large group and everyone ordered something different. I don't think there's any wrong choice on the menu here. Crab cakes were particularly good. Service was friendly, accommodating, and relatively fast (considering the large group size). Upscale and modern interior. Fairly quiet during lunchtime on a Monday. Somewhat expensive, but well worth it. Would absolutely visit again.

Incomparable cuisine! Seriously, I drive 40 minutes for chicken paillard. Have been several times and every dish is better than expected. 👌

Top tier. Had a lamb chop and people were talking about it all night. Must have.

Took the family here on the early side, place was pleasantly full of happy diners. The food was delicious with a great selection and our waiter was the best- attentive and funny. Very grateful to have this shining star in the Groton area!

I have waited to come to Olio for a couple years because its about an hour from where I live, but yesterday was my anniversary and we were celebrating in the area. I couldn't have asked for a better dining experience anywhere. A little unassuming on the outside, but this place is SERIOUSLY special! As a lifelong fine dining server, I can tell you it is not easy to do what they are doing over at Olio. There is not a single corner cut at this place- the pasta is made in house, even the burger buns are made in house. I think during Covid, a lot of places had to condense menus and you often see a lot of menu options looking like different iterations and assemblies of eachother. At Olio, I didnt see any of that, every ingredient was unique to a dish and the level of care put into the food is something hard to come by these days in a post-covid dining experience.
The food was stellar. My seafood papardelle was huge, fresh, delicious and very fairly priced. My partner's plate was also delicious- the cheesy grits are to die for. Our server Kim was very welcoming and helpful. I do not drink and they had a really good non-alcoholic beverage offering that was exactly what I wanted. I literally cannot wait to make the drive out to Olio again. Thanks so much to the hardworking staff in that kitchen- all those extra hours and extra steps and small details come through to the customer, and I will be a customer for life now.
