Ballo Italian Restaurant

Beautiful restaurant with elegant, castle-like atmosphere tucked inside of Mohegan Sun. Always very busy, so be sure to get a reservation. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts (Tiramosi and more) is excellent. Must try the cheese wheel when you visit, they light it up and pour the cheese right on top of the pasta. The meatball appetizer is always a go-to, as well as the parm dishes, francese dishes, and steaks. Check it out!

This restaurant is amazing! The architecture is elegant and old world. It's really dramatic. The lighting is perfect, and the red arches really bring it over the top, in a brilliant way. The food is out of this world, and the wine list is impressive. Kyle was out server and he was so informative and helpful. Super-friendly. He picked out the perfect wine for us. I would love to go back there again soon.

Very large place with enough room between tables, very nice lighting, the check in process was quick (we made a reservation and arrived 5 mins late). Started with the bread appetizer; some of the best bread and oil/butter/pesto dip I’ve ever had! Enjoyed two glasses each of the Moscato; I had the chicken Francese and the husband had the ravioli. Both dishes were amazing! The chicken was one of the best lemon chicken dishes I’ve ever had, and the ravioli sauce was extremely delicious. The ravioli was a little harder around the edges, doesn’t seem like it was made fresh or anything special. We finished off dinner with the box of cannolis which were also extremely delicious! Perfect size and the outside, as well as the filling were both extremely tasty. The waitress was quick, and brought us glasses of champagne for our anniversary. Overall, a very nice stay!

AMAZING experience! I went here for my birthday dinner and although not revealing that it was my birthday, my guest and I received the best food and service. Apps and entrees came out promptly And everything was seasoned and prepared beautifully. I had the Gnocchi with black truffle and my guest had the Chicken parmigiana. The Gnocchi were like pillows, very fresh and not dense, which sometimes happens, served with an amazing cream sauce and the chicken parmigiana was crispy and delightful. Both dishes came out steaming hot, which was amazing. If I visit Mohegan Sun again I will definitely be back.

Love this place. The service is always amazing and the food is delicious. I love their gnocchi. The restaurant is conveniently located within the casino and has a wonderful atmosphere. We've eaten here twice: once as a party of four seated in a private side room and once as a party of two seated at the bar. The only odd thing was that my partner ordered an old fashioned and the bartender made it incorrectly. This may not be the type of place where you can order an off-menu item but their food is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend!

3/4/24 My husband and I had dinner here tonight to celebrate my birthday. Our server Jesse was excellent. My husband and I both had the Chefs specials. I ordered the Fettuccine in cream sauce with a taste of lemon. My husband ordered the Swordfish special. I ordered a Caesar salad to start and my husband ordered the Meatballs. We both split the dessert of Olive Oil cake with whipped cream. Everything was very delicious and we enjoyed everything. Thank you to Jesse and the Chef.

This is a really good place for dinner and/or a drink. Really good atmosphere and you don’t feel like you’re in a casino. It’s pretty big… there’s both restaurant seating and bar seating. The bar is deep enough that it’s also a good area to eat. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is always really good. You can walk in for a table but it gets crowded if there’s an event going on (concerts, basketball games etc) so make a reservation if possible.

Having been a customer for over 10 years, I was quite disappointed when on Feb.18, 2024 when we went at 3pm when the restaurant opened and very few people were there at the time, that Ballo’s would not accommodate my dietary request. We sat down ordered iced teas and ended up leaving after paying for our drinks.
On that day, I went to order chicken Francese and asked that the garlic be omitted. I was told by the waiter they can no longer remove the garlic as the sauce was pre-made.
Since I don’t eat fish or red meats, I asked if I could just have a side of spaghetti with a little butter and fresh spinach & Parmesan cheese. The waiter left to ask the kitchen and said no.
My husband & I then paid for our iced teas and left.
It is still bothering me that such a simple dinner request could not be accommodated.
In every restaurant I go to and order chicken Francese, the garlic can be omitted.
Never mind that my second request was flatly refused. A simple pasta dish could not be made? The food industry is serviced based and it’s the customers that pay for the food & service.
I think that was lost on my Feb.18, 2024 visit.

Came here on a Saturday in December for a romantic dinner. It was late and pretty quiet. Our server was outstanding! Top Notch! Food and drinks were amazing! I ordered the Burrata Special and the Chicken Francese. Very sexy and romantic spot tucked away in the Casino. Makes you feel like you're in a sexy cafe in Italy. ❤🍷 Will definitely go back!

I love the food here. I was greeted by Kaci, the manager. We sat up front, and there was a lively crowd at the bar cheering on the football game. Bread and a nice garlic bread appetizer came over. Our server had a restaurant week menu. I did that menu with salad, entree, and 2 canollis. The chicken was fork cutting tender and loved the veggies. The best part is always dessert! These are the best canolis.

Today, I was greeted by Pedro. He did an excellent job explaining the specials. The swordfish was outstanding, and they made one dairy free for Mom. Pedro went the extra mile and brought me a canolli and an extra biscotti with our coffee and tea. Exception service today and well worth the money.

Brandon was an incredible waiter, ask for him if you decide to go. Food was excellent......salmon and filet was awesome.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BALLOS - haven’t been there in a while because i really want the original garlic bread and original raviolis back…. i put the original garlic bread picture up because it was absolutely delicious and full of flavor and the sauce on the side was amazing… i really wish for it back it was my absolute favorite thing to eat atleast 2 times a week and i haven’t been there in over a month because im just sad… lol.

My fine dining experience is limited, however, we had a great evening at Ballo Italian. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing despite being in casino. Low lighting does a great job at separating you from the rest of Mohegan Sun. Though this prevented me from being able to take any photos without drawing attention to myself with a flash, I also appreciated that caveat in a way. The servers are the best part of this experience as they are extremely attentive and professional. The food was delicious (but yes, we did have to ask for bread & butter) and the drinks didn’t taste heavy-handed but one or two felt like enough. No one at the table had any complaints. Would recommend to anyone.

My boyfriend and I went for the first time last night to celebrate our anniversary. The service was amazing, we got seated a few minutes before our 7:30 reservation. Our waitress, Tabitha, was amazing and super nice, and acknowledged one of us had a food allergy and genuinely seemed to care when we brought it up. The staff there was super polite and friendly which we loved! The food was AMAZING! We both split an order of Antipasti to start which was great (I loved the artichoke), and the bread and butter they give is delicious. My boyfriend did the Chicken Parm and was able to get either rigatoni or gluten free penne instead of spaghetti, I did the Scottish Salmon. Both meals were amazing! It is a great atmosphere, food is great! It is pricey, but the excellent quality and service you get there is well worth the price! Will definitely go back even if it's for takeout!

We tried this Italian Restaurant cause a member of the hotel staff recommended it for excellent authentic Italian food. Wife and I enjoyed garlic bread and Ballo's meatballs for an appetizer. We also enjoyed Chicken Francese and Chicken Parm for dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection. The staff was very professional and courteous. We will be eating here more often when visiting The Mohegan Sun.

went lastnight for dinner. Kyle was our server and he was great! Very friendly, informative, and checked on us just the right amount. I read reviews people complaining about them charging for bread now, but we went ahead and ordered some anyway, it was delicious! I had the chicken francese, subbed fingerling potatoes for the broccolini, it was so good! My boyfriend got the chicken parm and a side of spaghetti. Our drinks were filled without having to ask everytime and they took our leftovers and packed them up for us instead of just dropping boxes on the table. Glad we went and will def go again!

Hands down the most delicious pasta I've ever had... I can't wait to go back. The service was outstanding and we were even given a complementary glass of proscecco to toast our anniversary.

One of the main reasons I like to come to Mohegan Sun is this restaurant. I have only dined here twice and each time it was an unforgettable experience.
On my last visit we ordered arugula salad and eggplant parmigiana as appetizers, mushroom ravioli and hailibut as a main course. Everything was delicious and the chef was thoughtful enough to split salad and ravioli in 2 as we were sharing.
Desserts are worth trying too. Had cannoli to go and tiramisu - very tasty!
I must also admit that the prices at this restaurant are very reasonable, especially compared to NYC. I highly recommend!

We went for a restaurant week on Sunday. Service was Excellent. The chicken franchise was amazing, Also, the salmon. The meatballs were excellent. So was the huge Caesar salad.

Just had dinner at Ballo. Great service and food. Staff was incredible, on time and accommodating. I was even told to come back at a later time even though they were booked and we were seated at a table when we came back at 7 p.m. Some restaurants reject you out of hand and tell you there are no available tables. Not Ballo, first class place to enjoy. Pat
