Definitely worth a seeing place! Great views and well organized paths. Was truly a memorable experience for us. The Roosevelt cabin needs a bit of cleaning and some of the items were taken for restoration, yet it is very impressive to see it preserved on site.

Beautiful park. Would have been nice to visit the north unit as well but we were short on time. Saw lots of wild horses, bison, and prairie dogs while we were there! There was a road closure on the loop so you had to come back out the same way you go in. Also, the entrance is in town which is somewhat unusual but also adds to the experience!

Beautiful park. A lot of short and easy hikes which were great to do with the kids. Beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife including bison, prairie dogs, and deer. Views for days. It was stunning. Part of the park scenic loop was closed. We did every short hike they had 5–6 hikes i think.

We heard the south section was not worth the time. We thought it was amazing. We got out and climbed up Buck Hill and a few other spots. Amazing views. I suppose if you visited during a drought, it would look quite barren. It was lush with greenery when we were there. We saw 2 big herds of bison and lots of prairie dogs.

What a neat park, a 17-minute video of the history is good to start, which is in the visitor center at the entrance to the park. Also, it has a very small museum packed with little tid bits about Teddy and the park and wildlife. The guided tour we caught was a special treat for my son, who is 8, Teddy impersonator was very good and did one heck of a job. The 36-mile drive did not at all seem like the 3 to 4 hours we spent. We were kind of rushing but with got out the car a lot and each time was worth it. Horses, bison, prairie dogs, flowers, and a special visit from a coyote. Breath taking views! Will be back again.

This is an under appreciated NP. 1st visit to this NP and to North Dakota. So much to see here. We visited late day and watched the sunset from Wind Canyon. Walked Buck Hill. There are several short hikes here to give a great diversity to your viewing. We did see bison and their calves. Also saw wild horses. And as nightfall came we heard the coyotes. The visitor center is a great starting point . Really well done. As of 7/4/23 the loop road is closed in one section for road maintenance. The drive in is now an out and back for roughly a 24 mile drive. But still plenty to see and do.

This park does not get enough praise for what it offers. I have never seen so much wildlife, so close, at any other park before. Within 2min of driving into the park we saw deer and then almost immediately after, bison. We also saw a turkey, some of the horses from a distance, and just so so many more bison. The badlands here are stunning. We saw so much and hardly ever left our car or even spent very long in the park due to driving plans. If you ever find yourself anywhere near here I highly recommend going.

This was a great National Park! We drove through the park in the late morning and didn't see many buffalo. However, we went back after dinner (about 8:30) and saw tons! They were out grazing for their evening meal and were right up next to the car. We were able to take some great pictures.

This is such an amazing park. We enjoyed all the various sites and trails that were available. The staff at the visitor center were so helpful and provided great information and suggestions on places to go.

Part of the scenic drive loop is closed, so it’s about 2 hours to go to Badlands Overlook where the road stops and back again without stopping. There are tons of small trails and overlooks along the scenic drive. We were stopped in the road by a herd of buffalo, including calves, walking through. Such a great nature sighting. We also saw a couple of wild horses by the prairie dog metropolis.

It is incredibly beautiful here. I've been in a few times this summer and it's been amazing each time. If you're up for it, I HIGHLY recommend waking up early to see the sunrise from Buck Hill within the park.

I visited both the North And South Units of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park over a period of Three Days. The two units are about 80-miles apart and are outstanding. The North Unit is far less crowded than the South Unit. I began my visit to the South Unit at the Visitor's Center in Medora. I spent the next three plus hours driving through the park. I began my drive just a little after 9 a.m. and the park was already crowded. Some of the pull outs and overlooks are already full. The park is also home to large herds of buffalo and during my drive I was caught up in three buffalo Jams where either people are stopping in the road to take photos or we had to wait while the animals cross the road. The drive through the park was spectacular and I enjoyed every minute of it. I ended my tour back at the visitors center where I visited President Theodore Roosevelt's Maltese Cross Cabin. The Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a wonderful place with rugged beauty at every turn.

Beautiful place to see animals and scenery. We saw Prarie dogs ( my personal favorite animal to sit and watch), bison, pronghorn, and mule deer.

Add Theodore Roosevelt NP - south unit to your bucket list! Stunning views, wonderful hiking options, and many different species of wildlife. Hiking options vary from easy short paved trails to difficult long trails. We are a family of four (two adults and two kids aged four and two). We did all of the easy short trails in one morning while driving through the south unit. Visitor center opens at 9am MT. There is one bathroom halfway through the scenic route, so use it if needed when you come across it. Highly recommend!

Great little drive. Spotted some feral horses, wild bison herds, prairie dog towns and wild pronghorn antelopes. Be sure to stoop in the interpretive museum/ store at the beginning. Beautifully views from the roadways.
