Best dollar tree in area.Clean store and parking lot. Doesn't always have everything they typically carry but WAY better overall than other Merle Hay location and less busy than Urbandale and Grimes. Good selection of balloons. Friendly staff as well.

I've been a customer at Dollar Tree stores in 10 states. This store is the cleanest, most organized, and well stocked location I have ever shopped. Ursula the manager is very helpful and Deb the cashier is efficient and friendly. Not only did this location have all the items we stopped in to purchase, but they had more special items that I've never ever seen at any other location. If you've ever had a bad experience at a Dollar Tree, shop at the Johnston location and it will show you how great a Dollar Tree can be! I can't wait to visit again.

Great location! Cleanest Dollar Tree in the Des Moines metro area by far that I have found. Staff is polite and helpful as well.

I was extremely impressed when I came in, it is by far, the cleanest dollar tree I have ever been to. It's so organized and no boxes in the way. The workers were so nice and helpful! I will definitely be traveling the 15 minutes to this one rather than the one 2 minutes from my house! 😊

Wow, this Dollar Tree is amazing! I’m super impressed with the selection as compared with any stores Ive ever shopped, including a dozen states. The store employees were a delight. Highly recommend.
