The girls working here were very polite and welcoming. The Pho was amazingly delicious 😋 I had the combination pho. Cleaned the bowl lol. Very clean restaurant 👌

I have no idea why it took us so long to try this place. Service is fast and friendly. The chili oil is super spicy but delicious! My kids love it! I love it!

Lucky Bamboo is the best Asian restaurant I have ever eaten at in my life! It's amazing!

The food is easily 5 stars. I personally ate the Mongolian beef special (pictured below), and it was great. Along with the complimentary soup provided (pictured below) and side dishes of crab rangoon and egg roll, the food was delicious.

This restaurant wasn't very service intensive as when you walk in you order at a counter and then your food gets sent to your table, but the lady at the counter was kind and our food was delivered very quickly.

The atmosphere was good, and there were plenty of decorations to spruce up the place. The whole store was clean and I have no complaints.

Overall, Lucky Bamboo is an amazing restaurant, and if you're looking for some great Asian cuisine, the best in central Iowa, go here!

My son and I stopped in for the first visit ever, such a nice surprise!!!
Good food, quantity, and prices! We did dine in, then ordered some soup to go. Our take out soup order was still hot, when we got home an hour later!
The staff was friendly and efficient. We will be back, and I highly recommend it!!! 🥣🥡🥠

I just spoke with the owner of the company and I can’t believe the level of personal leverage that he provided to ensure that I was not an upset customer to ensure that the business continues. My daughter loves eating at this place and the conversation and a personal phone call. Everything else included proves that this is a definitely family owned restaurant and mistakes happen and that’s OK, let’s just make sure we make a right going forward. He did an excellent job, and I love speaking with him :-) my family also owns a restaurant and things happen, so it’s best to ensure that there is forgiveness and acceptance, and this personal outreach really made me love this restaurant more than any other place in Ankney.

1st time visit to Lucky Bamboo Asian Cuisine in Ankeny this past Saturday, and I'm telling you right now that they earned 5-stars from both of us. You order at the counter, so like many restaurants such as these, I'd suggest looking at the menu online before you get there. SO MANY dishes to choose from, but we opted with one of the "special" dishes, as they all come with soup of day, egg roll, rangoon, and your choice of white or fried rice. I got Cashew Chicken (pic), and my wife got orange Chicken. You seat yourself, and here's a bit of a warning. If it's crowded, which it was on this noon hour, it can be rather noisy due to the low ceilings (not Lucky Bamboo's fault if you ask me.) So, if you go, and if it's crowded, be aware ... the excellent food will make up for it!

So, how about the restrooms? If you follow me, you know I checkout the restrooms for my reviews, but in this case I saw that a man had just taken his 2 kids into the men's room, so I thought I'd wait 'til I got home. Next time.

Awesome pho. The only downside is that there are only two sizes (med and large) and no kid sizes. We just asked for an extra bowl for our 4 year old and my husband shared some of his.

The broth is very delicious! There is a reason why they won at the 2022 pho festival

I ate there for the first time today. The food was the best I’ve had since I moved from Chicago. My food tasted like Cantonese cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant.‼

Their stir fry dishes like Kong Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef (attached) have always been consistently good. Food was hot and stir fried well instead of some other places that tasted more like steamed foods. Place was clean and lady at front was polite.

Great chill and family friendly restaurant. Super clean bathrooms, great condiment selection. Food was prepared fresh, was super tasty and a great value.

Everytime we eat here it is always so good. Awesome food and service. Quick and friendly.

I love this little gem in Ankeny! We've had carryout most times, but today dined in and so happy we did. The fried potstickers are delicious and the House Pho was everything I hoped it to be. Fragrant and healthy broth, tender slices of beef, and hearty noodles🍜

I found it a little odd to place the food order in a line, rather have menus tableside...but the food more than made up for that! I also suggest you get some hot tea with the meal....just feels right!

We have tried a few places in the Ankeny area and haven’t been impressed, but tonight we tried lucky bamboo and we are all so happy! Delicious food!

We have been coming here for 10 years. Very affordable. Hot and sour soup is our favorite. Their specials come with main meal, egg roll, crab Rangoon and soup of the day.

Sometimes we eat in and sometimes we pick up. We love the specials with all the goodies. The service is fast and the food is yummy!

My favorite Chinese restaurant in the DSM area. I've never had a bad meal from them, and I've tried a variety of things from their menu. Easy online ordering, which I like, and good size portions, usually enough for 2 meals for me.

Best Chinese in Des Moines IMO. The Sesame chicken and Orange chicken are fantastic. Juicy chicken, delicious sauce and the breading has a nice crisp to it. It's hard to explain how good it is until you try it for yourself.

This place is one of those hidden gems that you never really hear about unless you ask someone.
We thought it was just another Chinese restaurant. But the prices and quality and quantity of food are amazing! It's about $7.50 a person, and I guarantee you will leave full!

Drinks are $1. Free refills.

The food is great! I recommend the generals chicken! But you could come here for weeks, and have something different every day!

Everything is made fresh to order, so you don't need to worry about getting heat lamp stuff.

The staff is also kind, and happy to help you figure stuff out!

I was new to Ankeny and tried every Asian cuisine around. This is hands down the best for flavor: brown sauce and crab Rangoon is how I make my judgement. Their sauce is incredible.

Ordering online for carryout is easy and the money goes directly to the business instead of a 3rd party delivery service.

Get their Mongolian beef, you won't regret it!
