Rodman Comics

I've been wanting to go here for awhile, but what I didn't know was "awhile" meant 12 years?! 😳 😆

It's very close to my parent's place, but I'm always so busy and on the clock. Not that this visit was any different as my parents put me to work, BUTT I did have a chance to stop by and this place did NOT disappoint! It's got everything you want and everything you don't need, just what a comic book store should be.

1st time I met Rod, and the nice young lady, and they were super friendly.

I wanted to buy a bunch of things, but limited myself to a few. 😏😆However, I ended up staying late to get things done and went back AGAIN!

I highly recommend this place! 🔥 💪🏾 💯 ❤

Love this shop. Everyone is always helpful and knowledgeable. Great selection of comics and cards. I play Magic the Gathering and they always seem to have the cards I want at great prices.

I love getting out to find a comic shop! This one is great! I got secret wars issue 1. (2015) and 1992 punisher that took me back! Go get em Frank!!

This store was great. It is a smaller comic shop, but the man that was in the store was probably the friendliest person I have ever encountered in a comic shop. They do have a lot of items in the store and some of them are more difficult to see due the limited space, however they are very friendly and helpful. The only suggestion that I would provide is to place the new comics in bags just to protect them a little better, possibly without tape so they can still easily identify new vs old books. I am only in the area for a week and a half, but have made 2 trips to this location, even though it was a bit of a drive. Excellent store, I hope they stay open for future trips when in Iowa.

This is a small old time comic store! Well stocked in new comics along with a few thousand modern back issues and some ccg/TCG singles and packs.

Great store with a friendly owner and staff. Loved coming here with my partner. We even realized a lot of our friends and nieces and nephews loved gifts from here!

It's a cute, small comic store. The owner is friendly. Good selections in comics. Also, they sell a good selection of tcg.

I don't know alot about comics, was only in there looking for one specific line up, "Bob's Burgers" but I didn't have any luck.
But there was other stuff in there and other comics too, so check it out for yourself. I can't really leave a rating based on that experience.
However the store was clean, and the guy working was helpful and friendly.
So I'll rate it solely on that.

A great local game and comic store with a large assortment of different things. There's a huge array of different comics, a good sized collection of board games or other gaming supplies, and a wide selection of individual cards for Magic the Gathering. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable too.

Great comic book store in the Ankeny area. Don't have to drive into Des Moines for the titles that I'm looking for. Rod, the owner, is willing to work with me in getting some titles that I don't see in the shop regularly. Feels very friendly when I go in for my weekly stash of comics. It feels more like a comic book store then a franchise.

Excellent customer service. I am always greeted with a smile. They are happy to help me find any products or do a special order. The games are casual and fellow gamers are friendly. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Great store, awesome owner, friendly staff, lots of great reading material, games, action figures and statues. I highly recommend this store. If you shop for these products elsewhere, you're doing yourself a major dis-service. 5 stars all the way!

I lobe Rodman’s comics. It’s a place I can call my comic book home. This is where I primarily go to get my comics and other merchandise of the such. Service is awesome and the comic book selection is pretty wide. They’re very helpful and never judgmental of your choices. Very good prices, too.

Nice little store that seems great for those who seek entry in the hobbies. Or those who'd like a quicker experience. I went for MTG cards and was satisfied with there binder selection.

Love Rodman Comics!! Even though I moved to the Waukee area, I still travel to Rodman for my comics with my kids! They are very friendly and service to top notch. Thank you!!

Great place. The owner is helpful. I've played dice masters, heroclix and even the old Star Trek CCG. The staff does what they can to help you and if they don't have it, they can try to order it. And Rodman has been around for close to five years so they'll be here for a while to come.

Rodman comics is a fantastic store. Rod and his employees are always friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend stopping by and getting to know them.

Favorite place to grab my comics. Knew my name after my first visit and always have my stuff ready the moment I walk in. Can’t speak highly enough about them! Shout out to Cole, that kid rocks!

Every time I go in here I am always greeted with a nice "hello!" and a smile. This is a nice, local comic book shop that has comic books, some board games, and really any trading card series you could want. They also have things needed to expand your collection including card sleeves, binders, play mats, and sleeved pages. The only thing I dont like about the store is Friday night magic. Some of the people there are a little shady and they dont really have tables, they just put covers over their comic book cases. For Friday night magic, I would refer you to Arkham Games. But for anything else, I would probably choose Rodmans because of their helpful service and knowledge of the things that youre looking for. Not saying that Arkham doesn't do that, but Rodmans does it best.

I have never been to this store, in fact I have never read a comic! I write this because someone (I’m guessing the owner) was driving a car that had “Rodman Comics” painted on it and they let me over in heavy traffic when no one else (literally no one else) would. If this is how an employee or boss also handles their business practices, I’m a fan and future client if I ever need a comic. Thanks for the small favor.
