The best kept secret in Omaha---a real slice of pioneer history! Even if it's not open when you visit, you can look inside the east side windows and see some of the original wooden beams of the grist mill. Read the markers on site as well as the ones in the grassy area to the east. They tell of the thousands of people who came thru Florence on their way west for a better life....

Today, June 6th, was the first day of their Sunday Farmers Market. Produce, food, art, and music. Plus today they had pony rides. Total hit with the kids! Relax, friendly, low key. The market will continue through Labor Day.

So glad this piece of history was saved by someone willing to put in some work! Very interesting history, well cleaned and preserved by the current owner. We stopped by and got to look around and hear some history while on a tour hosted by the Durham Museum. Lots of neat artifacts and a photography gallery upstairs. Florence farmers market is hosted here during the summer from 10am-3pm. Nice little gem right off the interstate.

This is one of the places that host the Nebraska Pottery Tour. The construction put into is very nice if you like older buildings and seeing a little bit of the past up close and personal.

There is a weekly farmer's market on Sundays from 10:00 to 3:00. I love it down there! Fresh veggies, home decorations, homemade clothing and knock knacks are sold there. I go every week and I'm beginning to know the vendors... Ha!

A wonderful icon of Florence's history, the Florence Mill's construction includes timbers cut in 1846 by the Mormon pioneers. Since then, the mill has been operated in its original capacity, and currently as an art space, farmer's market and more. Its a jewel in Omaha's history, and a wonderful place to visit!

The Florence mill is an awesome place to visit. It is absolutely free with donations accepted. Linda did a great job on the restoration of an important aspect of Omaha history. There is also a farmer's market on Sundays until 3pm. My wife and I visited the mill on Saturday and returned on Sunday to attend the farmers market which was also fabulous. I would recommend this place to anybody who is history buff. Or loves fresh produce and all kinds of other products at the Farmers Market.

Sunday mornings during summer the Florence Mill is a bright spot for a Farmers' Market and crafts. Homemade pies, local veggies, needlework, toys. Nice outdoor event in a smaller, limited area. Not much walking involved but no shortage of fun and bargains. You can also take time to step inside of the Florence Mill and experience local history up close. Fun for the whole family.

Went to the Farmers Market at Florence Mill. Decided to take a tour of the inside of the mill, very interesting. They did a remarkable job in reconstructing the mill. Beautiful woodwork on the inside. And I must say the bathrooms are fantastic!

Love the Farmers Market here. Can't wait for the summer to progress so that more venders and more home grown veggies are available. Great artists jewelery clothing homemade food venders in a small community setting. Bought fresh jam from Big Mama's... Radishes and baby red potatoes from local farmers... Tried teas from a local vendor She was fabulous. So much useful information. Will definitely be back again and again. Well until September.
