I loved the detail the artist did on all these statues. Depicting the different ways people traveled by wagon train was just awesome. You had horses, mules, cattle, and oxen. Get a chance go see it.

The sculptures are beautiful with fine details and well maintained. The place has benches which is nice for reading a book or eating lunch.

As you walk n the streets of downtown Omaha, starting on the main drag of Dodge Street, you come along some creatures of days gone by. There, in the heart of the concrete prairie, are large bronze bison. And then down the block are some geese in various stages of flight and fountains (weather permitting) giving the observer the impression they are walking in two different times in the same space. That was the intent of the artist who wants you to imagine these are the ghosts of days of the great western migration. Bison peer out of the sides of buildings and geese rise up from the ground and take flight in a path that leads you directly into the lobby of the First National Bank tower.

This display of public art encompasses about 8 square block and the make focal point is the larger area on Capital avenue. Here you have a wagon train crossing the prairie westward.

If you are doing a walk about downtown, take some time to just wander around this area. Look high and low, you never know when you will some a solitary bird flying up to a building ledge or a baby bison's half in and out of a building.
