Salty Iguana

Someone told me that KC has great Mexican food. I didn't believe that. How could such a thing be possible on the plains? I was wrong and The Salty Iguana is proof.

It started when I came in and sat down. Usually someone brings a basket of tortilla chips and some red liquid they describe as "salsa". The chips are usually hard and thick. You know, because you have been there.

Not at The Salty Iguana though. The chips are light and crisp and flavorful, the salsa... The salsa is INCREDIBLE! So many flavors stacked on others. This ain't your mamasita's salsa. All of it and the guacamole, the whole enchilada is made in house.

I ordered a chicken enchilada, a taco, and a delicious something in a fried tortilla. Everything was wonderful and delicious and tasty and I nearly exploded from all that goodness. Then I ate the fried ice cream. Sooo good!

Come and see for yourself. This is some good fresh eating.

Our server was Derek and he was great... Including for the part where one person in our group asked for another margarita with extra salt and he brought her a handful of salt packets.

Service was fairly quick and the margaritas had a nice heavy handed pour. Definitely would eat it again.

We love Salty Iguana. Our server Christina and the manager Andrew were fantastic. Checking on us and making sure everything was to our satisfaction. The food is great and to think during the holiday season they offer free $25 gift card with a $50 purchase is unheard of.

Always consistent with both food and service. I love the Grande Tostada and chicken quesadillas. My husband will usually go with a combo meal like the Little Lawrence. The chips and salsa are great and come with every visit. Be sure to ask for hot salsa if you want it a little spicier. Pair with either of the quesos they serve, they are delicious! Also, you can't beat their margaritas, especially during happy hour.

Always good! Togo orders are always correct! Love their crunchy BLUE tacos and espinaca dip.

Not the authentic Mexican food. But great taste, "EXCELLENT " customer service, fast service, very clean as well as the bathroom, and they clean fast in between customers.
Will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Travel for work and Salty Iguana was across the street from my hotel. Food was decent, had the chimichanga. The four stars is for the customer service from Seth. He took great care of me while I sat at the bar and I greatly appreciated his customer service.

Great food to be had here. The double trouble platter is a favorite of mine with two enchiladas and a taco with your choice of meat. Service was fast and attentive. They have a great mild salsa that my six year old can enjoy. The only negative I could say is that coming from the southern direction, Google maps had me get on K10 for basically a u turn and the wall paintings could trigger some bad trips for those on hallucinogens😀

I always enjoy my experience here. Food is good and a couple unique items not found at other chains.

It doesn't get any better then at Salty Iguana!! I love Mexican food, and it never dissapoints, I usually go for the tostadas, and queso/iguana dips.. The staff has always been amazing, above and beyond,, this is our favorite restuarant, Also Andrew the manager is always checking on us when we come in to see how our visit/food was.. always nice to see so many wonderful friendly kind faces!!! Happy Holidays to our favorite restaurant!!!!

Been coming here for more than a year, it's time to give a review !!! Their salsa tastes the freshest, without any extra spicy! If you want the HOT, ask for it, they have it! Best Happy Hour Ever, even when the menu is being "reprinted" ;) Very decent food at a very decent price! The people who work here do care A Lot!!! Many of them have been here 10+ years.... that should tell YOU something, especially after covid . Absolutely fantastic! I don't want to spend my tuesday anywhere else !!!

Very friendly staff! Came in mid afternoon from a delayed flight to MCI. I was shown to a table with an outlet so I could work while I ate. The hot pot (protein stew) great!

We like this place a lot. I feel we’re pretty much Mexican snobs. The enchiladas here are excellent; sauce is very yummy!! I wish I had the recipe. Salsa is pretty great, refried beans are excellent, and chips were hot and fresh. It’s a nice atmosphere, most importantly it’s clean. Every server we’ve had has been great. :)

As good as the original. Service was prompt and polite from the get go, the food was delivered in a timely manner and freshly made, and everything was received as ordered.

My only complaint was the guy that wouldn't stop clearing his throat as loud as he could. But they can't control that.

We were asked if we wanted a booth or a high top, which I appreciate. The service and food were great! The atmosphere was good. I will be back!

Denise is serving in the back, at the Bar. She is a very polite server and my party was really enjoying the great service. Food was hot and fast and I like that their chips always seem fresh, not stale! You should go see these folks, good times!

Love the excellent, high-quality food here, especially the Blue Tacos and Enchiladas. I've been here three times and it's consistently good. Had excellent service each time as well.

I was dining with a friend who had some dietary restrictions. Our waitress was extraordinarily understanding and very helpful! The decor is fun, and perfect for sports fans who like a bit of a laugh.
