This is a gorgeous campground. The host is friendly and accommodating. We have two dogs that really need to run and play at the end of the day, and although there is no official dog area, he suggested that we could take them to the horse camping area. All sections of this campground are expansive and green. There is a huge open space bigger than a football field in the center of the RV area. There were a LOT of gnats just before sundown, probably because of the moist vegetation this time of year (nature is like that). No big deal to go inside for a bit till they dissipate. Lots of stars and totally quiet. Showers were very clean, 24/7.

Out of the 7 campgrounds we stayed at on our trip, this was the best, beautiful, very cheap, and the site says its primitive, but there was access to water, electric, and a dump site. You have to pay for showers, but the showers were very large and clean. There is horse camping on the back side, but we did a pull through, spaced great, beautiful view, loved this park.

A perfect campground for equestrian campers or those visiting Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Just 3-4 miles from Medora ND and park entrance. Open views, good trails, great birding. The sites have electric, accessible water and dump site. Showers snd vault toilets kept very clean.

Stayed here when TR NP campground was full when we arrived in September and other campgrounds in the area were closed. There is a trail from the campground, and many horse sites with corrals toward the back. Sites are far from each other compared to NPS campgrounds. $17/night including park fee. There is a dump station with fresh water. Self-service check in, sites can be reserved somehow - web says to call the park. 14 foot maximum height due to entrance gate. Short length of dirt road to get to the campground looked like it could be muddy in spots after heavy rain.

Very spacious and quiet location. Super affordable especially if you are looking for no frills camping. Avoid the park campground crowds and stay here. About a 10 minute drive to Theodore Roosevelt NP.

August 2020. Looked nice but was full. All sites are available through the state park's reservation system.

Nice spot, but know what you're getting into. There's plenty of extra fees. $12 campsite, + $7 park entry fee + $1 in quarters for 8 min in the shower. (Still more fees for RV's and horse trailers) it's a few miles down the road from town, which means it feels more like camping, but also means you can't walk to shops in town. Has running water in shower with sinks in each, but still has pit toilets. Campsites are spacious, with a lot of unused space between. Because it is mostly grass, there were tons of moths and insects, but with bug spray I didn't catch any bites. A bit annoying, though.

Nice trails, clean, has water and power, river running next to it, great views, large stalls for horses, has public restroom and showers.

Pretty nice campground with showers. There was an RV with a generator going from 8am to 8pm right next to us which gets really annoying. There’s a few tiny trees speckled around the campground, but in the horse campground area, they are surrounded by trees and are nicely shaded.
