Exceeded our expectations by miles! We try to stay in "cabin-style" lodging on big trips (Glacier National Park, Smoky Mountains, etc) and I must say this was one of the best experiences I have ever had with lodging. We had an entire house to ourselves....3 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, and spacious living room. The owners were very professional and went above and beyond to help plan for our arrival. The house was abundantly stocked....towels, soap, paper products to include coffee, laundry soap, dish soap and other amenities I would have never guessed. I definitely will stay here the next time we are out in Western North Dakota! Very pleased!!!

Rooms: Whole house, main floor, six days. Clean and comfortable. Everything provided by the owner, did not have to contact once during stay. However, every time we saw her, she made sure we were not needing anything.
Service: One email, one call. We were reserved the main floor. Great service!
Location: Walked to town every night for dinner. walked to the TRNP entrance gift shop.

My wife and I wanted to pitch our tent somewhere but in a rare quirk it was over 100 F, so instead we looked for a room. We stopped in most every hotel in Medora but it was all out of our price range. Eventually I noticed on my GPS "Custer's Cottage" We called and ended up staying there. It was very reasonably priced, clean, and just what we were hoping to find. The rest of the town seemed to be horribly overpriced, but not Mary! She made us feel very welcome. I don't get up that way often but when I do I'm gonna go see Mary.
Oh, bring cash or check, no plastic accepted, just a heads up. I actually like that too. She keeps her overhead down that way. She's frugal, just like me!
I've have attached photos of the basement apartment that we rented.

My daughters and I stayed one night in the wagons. It was a great experience! Mary was very nice. We stayed in September and the space heater kept us plenty warm (it was 39 degrees). Watch out for the deer! Two deer ran right in front of me in the yard. The affordable rates are nice, we plan to go back.

What a fun place to stay! Perfect for two people. Wagon is small but comfortable. We were there two nights and it worked out great. There’s a bathroom and a shower in a separate building, along with a coffee maker and a refrigerator if needed. Owner was super pleasant and easy to work with as well as easy to reach via phone.

Fun and unique place to stay if you're looking for a memorable overnight! Cute, no frills wagon with enough space for two people. Has a communal bathroom and shower. Mary is a very welcoming host. We had a great night!

A great alternative from expensive hotels. And families are able to connect around the table, in the yard, or around the living room experience. Cook, wash a load of laundry, or just come back to take a break. Proprietor Marys interest is to see families spend less on lodging, so they can enjoy more quality sight seeing and enjoying other events in Medora. A great place to stay!

The wagon was really cute and cozy. The price is right if you are a solo traveler and want to check out Theodore Roosevelt Park. However the night that I stayed there was a massive thunderstorm and let’s just say being in the wagon this particular evening was a little scary. Also the bathroom a little walk from the wagon, something to consider .

I stayed one night in a covered wagon which was equipped with a mattress, lamp and fan. Very affordable and quite comfortable as a single traveller. Visited in August, and although it was warm out during the daytime, it was cool enough in the evening that I didn't have to use the fan and could sleep comfortably.
All bookings were done over email, and Mary was very friendly and showed me around the site upon arrival.
Tip: This place isn't set up for credit card payments, so you'll need to pay cash upon arrival. There's also no wifi available for the wagons. Drive slowly when entering the grounds as it's within a residential area, and there may be rabbits around the site (saw one in the afternoon as I was driving in).
