On behalf of my family, I would like to say thank you to Baker Funeral Home for the amazing service that they provided for my father. All of the staff were warm, friendly, sympathetic, and empathetic to my family and I. My father's service was beautiful due to the planning and execution of Jamee and her staff. We would like to thank Jamee for attending the service and for the care and support that she provided us during this time. If you are reading this review and wondering if your needs will be met by Baker Funeral Home, the answer is yes
because they really care about people.

I just lost the love of my life of 35 years. I called Baker because I have had previous experience with another relative. I was very pleased with the service then. Well, this particular instance was so much important and my main concern was treating my wife with the upmost respect farther above and beyond everyone from Lacey to Jamee to Amber these ladies did so much for me it was so effortless it seemed to me. This is the most devastating time in my life because I just lost my better half. 35 years is a long time These ladies taught me so much about the grief process what to look for what to expect to happen, why things will happen so on and so forth. They always found time to stop and listen to me with care in compassion about what I was experiencing.
If you are ever in need of this type of service “God Forbid”. This was a complete different experience than the other funeral. Call these people they are all amazing in their own unique individual caring approach to my entire family and especially myself and that they have for their other customers, that I’ve also witnessed.

Thank you for doing such a great job with my husband. He looked so much younger and handsome. Everything was perfect at the viewing and the graveside service. I would highly recommend them.

I lost my father during the height of the pandemic. The funeral home that originally picked him up wanted to charge me $300 and $150 a day for storage until the service! I was already drowning! Baker was so kind to travel to pick him up and cremate his remains for a very low price. They held him for a long time while my family lost our home and were homeless for a time even! They took payments and added nothing extra! Beautiful, caring service from these folks!!

The loss of a loved one is a difficult time, but the kind staff at Baker Funeral Home was there to help me. From my first phone call to them, until the time I retrieved my loved ones cremains, everyone I dealt with there was compassionate, helpful, caring, and professional. All of my phone calls to Baker were promptly returned. Every question I asked about navigating the difficult process was answered by them politely and completely. They instructed me about how to quickly obtain death certificates. I easily ordered death certificates from the State department of vital statistics, and received them within a few days. The next time I need cremation or funeral services for a loved one, I will definitely return to Baker Funeral Home.

Mind you, anytime that you need this kind of service is usually sad and feelings can be raw. Nonetheless, I felt that the staff did their best to be considerate and kind while helping me with the paperwork.

My loved one is to be cremated. I'm hoping to have her back in a couple of weeks, if there isn't any difficulty. I know that weather can be unpredictable as well as other issues that can cause delays.

After deciding to work with Baker Funeral Home, I read the reviews on here and found myself shocked at the experiences others have had.

The minute I walked into this location until the day of the memorial, they have been nothing but nice, respectful and caring.

If you are looking for an elaborate funeral home with a ton of room, you will be disappointed. But, if you are looking for real people who truly care for complete strangers and offer a more intimate setting for a private end of life ceremony, then this is your place.

Most of the negative reviews are between four to nine months ago. Two coinciding events happened during this time. The first was the increase in deaths due to Covid-19. Baker Funeral Home typically works with two to five families a day, not including services. This winter through early spring, the solo funeral director and staff were meeting with eight to 12 families per day, not including services. At one point, construction in the area disrupted the phone service and it took several weeks to realize calls were not rolling to the second phone line or the answering service. Errors did occur and phone calls were missed. Baker Funeral Home has been working diligently to correct errors and resolve issues. A staffing change has happened. Every attempt is being made to process all messages. Some reviews questioned why an answering service takes messages during office hours. The funeral home has two phone lines and receives multiple phone calls each day. When both lines are in use, calls roll to the service. This review is not to excuse the mistakes and missed calls but to acknowledge that three people were working frantic and long hours trying to take care of the many families during a pandemic.

Our experience with Baker Funeral Home and the staff (especially Jamee) was fantastic. Their customer service was above and beyond our expectations. Their prices are fair, much lower than I expected. I would recommend them to friends and family.

The sudden passing of a loved one is hard on a family. Especially when she was caring for her very sick daughter. The feeling her daughter had for her mother was love so deep to say the least. Her mother had requested a simple cremation thanks to Shelby at Baker Funeral Home she made this happen. The daughter severely Ill was admitted to the hospital the day of arranging the cremation. Shelby so passionate about the deceased and her daughter took total charge to see the deceased wishes were granted. Giving the daughter peace of mind. That caring of Shelby cannot be expressed enough. Thank you Baker Funeral Home especially Shelby during this time of mourning. The deceased daughter is still recovering in the hospital. But her mind is at ease now concentrate on her own recovery. Thank you again..

Caring, compassionate, attentive to details and family requests. There were so many details that we hadn't thought of, but they patiently walked us through each step. I've attended several funerals handled by Baker Funeral Home, and it was obvious they had experience with reverant professionalism. When it came time for my family needs, we had no hesitation in using Baker. They extended a competent, helping hand when it was most needed.

I have just good things to say about Baker Funeral Home on E Central. I've only seen compassion, professionalism, prompt response from them. I had to come up with choosing a funeral home when no time was given for research. I picked Baker because of the cost, and haven't regretted. During my first visit, Randall spent about an hour explaining all the options in details. The facility near Woodlawn isn't super fancy if you choose to have memorial service there, but it's OK. Baker does what they need regarding paperwork. Randall always communicated back to me when I had questions or requests. Our service went super smooth, and my loved one was cremated the next day even though it fell on a holiday. They called me right away about picking up the cremains. We are so impress with their services. When We lost our precious son Kyle forever 32 it was a nightmare. We didn’t know what to do. They were sooo very kind and helpful. They handles the situation with the up most respect to us and our son. I cannot imagine not having them at that horrible time in our lives. God forbid but if we need these services again they would be the only one we would contact. I thank them so much for all they did for us and our precious son. I have no idea why this home has such low ratings. They did a beautiful job with my momma... Shelby was very professional and caring... Even shared a few laughs with me and my sister. The office was so attentive to the details... Even to things i had not even thought about yet... And the driver that picked my momma up lit up the room when he walked in... He stay there with us so we could say our goodbyes with out getting upset or trying to rush us... Hands down will be using them again thank you all so much

Customer service was great and prices for cremation could not be beat at $750. Other homes charged as much as $2,350 for same services. Staff was respectful and professional. We planned to spread ashes on family farm so had no need for urn yet they loaned an urn for free for the memorial service. Also my son had to miss a test at college to be home for his grandmother's funeral. His professor was not going to let him make up the test. When this story was told to the representative at Baker they got noticeably irritated at the injustice and instantly drew up an affidavit stating that my son had attended the funeral for delivery.

Don't confuse with Baker Funeral home of Valley Center which charges much more.

Simply fantastic. Shelby and Lacy were absolutely amazing to our family while dealing with the unexpected loss of our daughter. They were so caring, compassionate, and they got things done way faster than we ever expected they could. They made a very tough time a little easier on our family. Thank you!!

Just want to say thank you to Randall and the staff at Baker. From the last minute arrangements to driving over 100 miles to pick up our loved one up in the middle of the night then coming back to our hotel to sign docs so we didn't have to drive to Wichita to getting her back to us in San Diego...thank you for doing everything you said you would and bringing her home.
