SERIOUSLY THE BEST. They are beyond thorough with checkups, vaccines, etc. I am a person who always asks a million questions, and they answer every question in detail and help me make informed decisions. One of my favorite things is that they aren’t trying to upsell you on any treatments, so they always do their best to suggest the most affordable options and explain whats worth it/necessary.
Beyond checkups, one of my pups stayed there for a week due to a liver issue and surgery. The vet assigned to my dog’s case checked in with us several times a day to make sure we knew exactly how he was doing.
They are so sweet to my pups. Would 100% go back and recommend to anyone!!

After weeks and weeks of going through a local vet, ER vet, and even a relative who is a vet, to try to figure out what was wrong with my cat, we ended up getting to our final straw when they (our local vet) incorrectly prescribed medication. We ended up driving NINE HOURS to get my sweet angel the care he deserved. They took such great care of him and were very clear with instructions and willing to answer the approximately 1,005 questions I had. He was able to go from being on his death bed to a full recovery. I couldn't be more grateful.

I've taken quite a few dogs here over the last six years. Oncology saved my dog's life. She had her lower jaw amputated and completed 19 rounds of radiation. Their radiation oncologist, Dr. Azuma, is amazing. I've always been really pleased with the veterinary nurses as well. We've also seen cardiology (1 dog), ophthalmology (3 dogs), and internal medicine (4 dogs). Overall, I've been very pleased. Having been there so many times, not every experience has been perfect. Be prepared to be there all day. I had a couple issues with follow-up from internal med, but I've addressed those concerns with the staff and they've assured me my concerns have been addressed. I do wish they'd make it a policy to always bring you back into an exam room. Sometimes they just talk to you in the waiting room, and I like more privacy because when I go to K State, it's for something major.

As a proud alum of Kansas State University, I want to express my utmost gratitude for the exceptional care provided by the Veterinary Health Center in Manhattan. Despite residing in Denver, my wife and I chose to drive back to Kansas when our small dog required specialized attention, opting for the expertise offered at the VHC over local alternatives.

Our decision was unequivocally validated by the outstanding service and care extended to us by every member of the VHC team, from the dedicated receptionists to the knowledgeable students and Dr. Kenneth Harkin himself. Despite the considerable 14-hour round trip, the experience surpassed our expectations in every aspect, making it a journey we would readily undertake again given the unparalleled level of care and attention bestowed upon our beloved pet.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the entire team and faculty at the Veterinary Health Center for their professionalism and compassion throughout every stage of our visit, from check-in to check-out and even post-visit follow-up. Our experience at Kansas State University's Veterinary Health Center was truly exceptional, and we couldn't be more grateful.

I was very impressed with the services provided by the staff here. My dog was well taken care of and you could tell the staff cared. Kylia was amazing and Lisa was very helpful with check in/out at the front desk. I highly recommend them for your pets care and needs.

I brought my horse home yesterday after a 3 week stay!

Dr. Delph and the team/students were AMAZING! I got daily phone call and email updates from Dr. Delph and Jessica primarily and Dr. Delph never once told me that I was asking too many questions. She went above and beyond giving me such detailed reports per my request for an overview of his diagnosis etc.

I'll never forget the care and compassion shown to my boy.
Thank you all!

I recently brought my dog to K-State vet med for her spay, and I have to say, I can't recommend them enough. From the moment I called to set up the appointment, Kathy provided exceptional assistance and displayed a friendly demeanor. She made sure that my dog had everything she needed prior to the procedure, which gave me peace of mind. On the day of the procedure, the entire staff, from the front desk to the checkout, conducted themselves in a highly professional manner. They made me feel completely at ease, knowing that my dog was in capable hands. I greatly appreciated the frequent updates they provided following the procedure. These updates added an extra layer of comfort for me. Despite living in the KC metro area, I chose to bring my dog to K-State because I am an alum and wanted the best for her. I'm happy to say that I made the right decision. K-State vet med staff, you did an excellent job!

If you ever are in need of the best care for one of your 4 legged kids this is the best place to take them please don’t hesitate about taking them here they will open there arms to you and your pets. From the time you walk in the front door you’ll see the girls there to check you in with the warmest smile that lets you know we’re here to help you . There is some paper work to fill out to help the Dr. figure out what he or she need to look for . The nurses that are about to become Dr’s are the best I’ve ever experienced they care so much about your loved ones and you . We were so fortunate to have Dr. O he is one of the smartest young Dr’s that sets down with you and explains in a manner that you will understand and be able to picture what is going on with your pet and a plan to help them . In our case we had seen two different vets in about a month for our Bucky one of them had seen him 2 times , before the emergency vets told us he may have a melting cornea in his right eye and you better get him to K-State and we did that the same nite . Dr. O called in an Optometrist Dr. Johnson who took Bucky under her care and was on the phone to us early the next morning talking to us about treatment she knew how much we loved Bucky and knew we would have to make a very hard decision, in him loosing his eye and leaving him totally blind . Dr. Johnson walked us through our options and we wanted to save his life and they did that for us . She is a really good Dr. first and a really good person as well. This is why I say don’t hesitate in getting your pet there I only wish I would have taken him there to start with instead of being misinformed by the other 2 Vets I know this costed him his eye sight and that hurts us the most . We love him and he loves us and that will never change . However the little stinker takes a bit more help now but we don’t mind as he has always loved both of us and has brightened many days for me . Remembering how great my experience was so I came back to submit a review. In 2020 my parakeet got out of the cage and my cat got a hold of her. They took her in immediately and the entire staff went to work on her. They communicated well throughout, successfully mended her significant injuries and sent her home the same day. She went on to live a good life and have baby birds! Honestly one of my only good memories from Kansas. Highly recommend!

I see other reviews stating expensive but I say otherwise. I paid about 60% of what was quoted n my home town and the service is exceptional. That is value

Additionally, I received an update twice daily at about 7A and 7P. Also got a call when my pup went in for surgery, came out of the OR and when left PACU. That is great communication. It is really nice to know our little guy is doing well when we are hours away waiting for his recovery.

I work in “human healthcare” and communication is far better at VHC than at my own hospital! We could learn a thing or two!

Thanks for taking great care of our little Buddy!

They literally saved our cat’s life. I’m thankful for their caring hearts and quick actions. We are very lucky to have this resource in Manhattan!! I also want to applaud their kindness on two separate occasions when I’ve brought lost kitties in to be scanned for a microchip. Just today I brought a cat to T Russell where the staff told me that cat had no chip, but KState confirmed there actually was a microchip AND they kept the kitty until the owners could pick her up. T Russell refused to help in any capacity.

My husband and I took our 2.5 yr old Bearded Dragon in at 11pm due to being ill and showing bad signs. The staff met us at the door and rushed to back to start observation and exam. Administrated oxygen did blood work and kept us up to date informed of what was going on. The team of exotic animals came in to help but after test results completed we had to make the devastating decision to do the most humane thing and put her down. The staff tried to keep her comfortable and gave us time with her. We would highly recommend this place and trust our animals in their hands. We drove 2 hours to get her there and we are grateful for such an amazing group of people whom took time to try to help her. Thank you so much for everything.

My German Shepherd Dog, Vixin had surgery by Dr Renberg and staff in 2020. She had torn 3 of the 5 tendons in her back right “Achilles”.

She has healed beautifully! She can run faster than ever and jump higher than a kangaroo ;) She loves to play ball still and is a very happy and healthy pet again.

Thank you K State and Dr Renberg!!

Dr Kelley was very accommodating to Willow. We thank you SO very much. She waited for my vet to fax everything over, to prevent further costs!

We could not have been more pleased with the care our dog received. Compassionate and caring staff from front desk, vet, students and surgeon. Communication was amazing. Checked in on Saturday night as emergency, we live in Wichita so we made difficult decision to leave her there under constant care until her leg amputation Monday. They showed us where she would be staying and I was so at ease with the amount of supervision and care she would get. They called us every 12 hours with reports on how she was doing. It was expensive but not any more than it would have been at any other clinic and I guarantee she would not have been taken tare of the way she was at KSU. She is home now and doing awesome!! Thankful for everyone that took such amazing care of our girl!!

Maya and Dr. Estrada are absolutely amazing! They’re both extremely attentive to details and really focus on communication, clarity, and kindness! They were patient with my questions and were so loving toward my cat, Chickie. I felt such relief after receiving such great quality of care for her. Thank you both!!

If I wasn't a K-State fan before, the care here would seal the deal. I literally cannot say enough good things about Dr. Whyte and the care my Frenchie gets here. She was referred here with a back injury and the students, Dr. Whyte, and everyone I interact with is beyond caring, professional, and does not make me feel like a terrible or stupid person for the questions I ask. I drive an hour one way to come here and will do it every time. Each time my dog has had to stay here, they have called AT LEAST twice daily, if not more, and return every single phone call every time. I thought I was going to have to put my dog down and they gave me hope again. This place is truly amazing.

I took my foster dog in for a checkup a month after they did surgery to repair her pelvis after she was hit by a car. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. If it wasn't 90 miles away I would take Kat there for everything.

K-State Vet is one of the most professional vet environments I have encountered. They aren’t my primary vet, but I have used their emergency services & dental services. The vet students are so caring and the vets are incredibly knowledgeable. I know my pets are in good hands. I wanted to specifically send some appreciation out to my most recent vet tech, Emmy. When she called to check on my dog after her root canal she was so empathetic. I am very grateful for this center.

They saved my cat's life, then cured him of cancer. You won't find people who care more.
