The front desk was awesome in setting up my first appointment profile as well as taking care of everything I needed. This facility has wonderful customer service and vet-techs that truly care about your animals. After we checked in, Dr. Fox was spectacular for our visit! I was recommended to him by a coworker and couldn’t have found a better fit. He performed a very thorough first patient exam and made sure my pup, Jasper, was comfortable the whole time. He and the techs listened to all of my concerns and went over his medical history with me to make sure he had the correct information. Some veterinarians aren’t comfortable with Great Danes, but Dr. Fox treated him with such love and care. We will without a doubt continue care here with Dr. Fox and I can’t recommend him enough!

Have been bringing my cats and pup here for going on over 4 years now. They are kind, knowledgeable, take the time to answer any questions or concerns, and treat all with care and respect. Dr. Fox is great and highly recommend him or anyone else at Horton Northeast!

Ryan Fox cared for my Milo to the end with the greatest heart. When Milo crossed the Rainbow bridge a tree was planted in his honor. He now cares for my Ralston with an outpouring of knowledge and compassion. He will soon be caring for my Kia Delaney and I trust him to always keep my pets wellbeing first and foremost. My pets trust him as well and are calm when they are in his office.

We had an unexpected health care concern for our cat, Watson. His treatment involved surgery to remove a large mass. Watson also needed to spend 2 nights away from home recovering at the clinic. When we first noticed the mass, Horton's Northeast was quick to get Watson in for an appointment. The entire process from first noticing the mass, to developing a treatment plan, to surgery, to removal of the stitches played out over a 3-week period. Everyone at Horton's Northeast was kind and compassionate with us through the entire process. Dr. Marcias answered all of our questions, explained all possible outcomes and treated our sweet boy like he was one of her own. Our Watson is home and well on his way to recovery with a very good prognosis. He is patiently waiting for his hair to grow and cover his bald spot.

I recently just moved to Columbia, and finding the right vet can be a little nerve wrecking. Let me just say right off the bat the environment is extremely professional while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere! The technician and the veterinarian were helpful, knowledgable, and sincere, I greatly appreciate my visit. I have found my new vet clinic/hospital for my time out here. 10/10 wonderful staff!!!

I’ve been bringing my dogs to Horton since moving to Columbia and am very pleased with the care they have received. I have found them very nice, caring and thorough. They take their time and explain everything to you and, I believe, they truly care about their patients and pet parents. I will definitely continue bringing my “fur babies” to Horton.

Hands down the best vet clinic in town. Brought my feline friend in due to an emergency situation and they were very passionate and really did the best they could to make sure he’d make a full recovery. Answered all my questions and made sure I understood all the post operation care.

Exotics of Columbia, MO are happy and healthy thanks to Dr. Schlotzhauer and Dr. Marshall, who have cared for my two hedgehogs (one now deceased) over the last few years.

Hedgehogs, while great, can make challenging pets. This means do your due diligence and ensure you can provide the specialized care they need before acquiring - can’t just “release them to the wild” if it doesn’t work out.

Mila, the female hedgehog, had to be euthanized in 2020. She was suffering from debilitating dental disease (common for hedgehogs), rendering her lethargic and unable to eat. Mila was my first pet, which made letting her go agonizingly difficult. Dr. Schlotzhauer understood this, and prior to euthanizing did everything possible to save her. She didn’t push me to make a decision, probably knowing all reasonable options had to be exhausted before I could take the hardest but most compassionate path forward.

Mila was cremated, and her passing was harder to process than expected. Months went by before I could open the paper bag from the clinic containing her ashes and a tiny vial of her spines. Also in the bag was a handwritten card from Dr. Schlotzhauer, expressing sympathy and a note stating a tree would be planted in remembrance of Mila. I cried, unable to recall a kinder gesture.

I still have the paper bag, and my other hedgehog, a male named Walter, is living comfortably despite recent removal of his left eye, which poked his toothbrush and eventually stopped functioning. Dr. Schlotzhauer performed the surgery - successful as expected - and provided detailed recovery instructions. Walter’s more reckless than Mila ever was, regularly finding himself in trouble or at the clinic - I think he literally tried to inhale his food yesterday and had to be placed in an oxygen chamber - but, as long as Dr. S or Dr. M is nearby, will be OK.

This vet office has always served my pets well. My new girl is very shy, timid and afraid. Everyone respected her needs, took time with her and had great suggestions for her continued socialization and care. Love this office!

Greatly appreciate all of the information and taking the time explain things when we had our baby in. Everything was explained, questions were answered and we didn't feel rushed out the door. Love the Dr and the staff were great as well. Overall, a great experience.

Horton Animal Hospital NE has been our choice for veterinary services since we moved here in 2019. They have ALWAYS been
professional, courteous, caring, and most of all, on target for all our furbabies' needs. We could not ask for a more generous-of-heart facility. We all love our furbabies ferociously and it takes a
LOT for us to feel confident in their care. HAH-NE offers exactly that. Peace of mind for all of us!

My cat is in and out frequently. Noticed he had a bad foot over weekend and set up appointment on Monday. Called another vet that was closer but requested an overnight stay or see him later in week. Although I was a new patient was able to see him same morning after a small deposit. The vet gave him a steroid and antibiotics injection. Did not feel x-ray was needed but offered at a later time. Also got a few days of pain meds. Will be back later if needed.

Dr. Meyers is the best vet I've had! Dr. Marshall is pretty equal when Meyers isn't there. Love this clinic. Photos are of my male, before going into clinic after eating a bee... then an hour later after a shot haha. Covid meant I couldn't go inside with him at the time

Our Corgi Boomer recently had a lump on his face. Horton’s quickly got him in for an assessment, diagnosis, & treatment. They then scheduled an oral surgery very soon to address the root of the problem. We appreciated their care & Boomer is continuing to do great!

I want to thank Horton Northeast and more specifically, Tania. Over the weekend, I was upset about my ill pigeon. I left a message for Horton Northeast to see if there was anything they could do to help. A very nice employee, Tania called me back during the next business day to follow up with me. Even though they only do basic bird treatments, Tania took the time out of her day to call and listen to everything I had to say. My pigeon has a more complex issue than what Horton Northeast could provide, but it still means so much to me that they at least took time to respond. Tania was so polite and wonderful. This means a lot to someone who is dealing with a sick pet. Thank you so much!

Everyone was super lovely even when they were busy, my paranoia was addressed and all my questions were answered. I feel much better after visiting even though nothing changed but the vet telling me 1 or 2 pieces of advice. 10/10 and not because by baby wasn't sick.
