First time being in the store and restaurant. My mind is blown. The food was amazing. The store was a really cool experience. My husband said it brought back memories.

Now that's what I'm talking about that's real Mexican food just like in Mexico good herbs and spices great tasting flavor like you've never tasted before. All these other fake enchiladas and all these other trocitos ribs with green chili/red chili wannabes. No restaurant in Columbia city can compare to this place. And the courtesy of the waiters is outstanding. I recommend this to everybody that's really looking for real Mexican food. You won't regret it..

first time in today and the staff was so friendly!! i ordered the barbacoa burrito with red sauce and it was the best mexican food i’ve ever had!! by far it blows any other place in columbia out of the water!!

So out of 10 reviews so far one person rates it a 1 star because of poor service. Mind you NOT the food but just the service which is his right BUT it drops the overall rating down to a 4.0

Point being is that, individual rating aside, this is bar none the best Mexican food in the area. I spend half the month in El Paso TX and half the month in Columbia and this would do business in El Paso where 85 percent of the populace is Hispanic. I also travel alot into los Angeles and again if I had an LA transplant/visitor this is where I would take them.

The Mole is excellent. I have yet to taste an authentic style mole anywhere else in Columbia or St Louis. Perfect blend of sweetness and spices. Every other Mole tastes like the sauce came straight outta the glass jar. Also Carne Asada and Barbacoa tacos/burritos are great. Chips and Salsa are top notch especially the Salsa.

Nothing wrong with the Jimadors and Las Margaritas of Columbia If ur of a certain persuasion that enjoys your Fajitas seasoned with Lawry's Seasoned Salt BUT if you're feeling like ur wanting a more traditional taste please make this place your go to and treat those other places like you would a Taco Bell (unless u really really really like Taco Bell which I do from time to time)

Los Cuates Store and Mexican Restaurant in Columbia Missouri is a hidden little gem. Authentic Mexican food made fresh. The service is fantastic, there is a restaurant on the top floor of the building and a store on the bottom. The present menu includes chicharrones, caldo de Rez, tacos, Quesadillas and more. They also have made to order cakes for graduations, parties and other events. They ask that you order cakes at least a week in advanced. The waiter is very kind and welcomes all visitors. A great place to check out and eat. Make sure to take a peek at the store downstairs. They sell everything from belts to an assortment of groceries and wares.

Great food. With excellent service. They have fed the jobsite numerous times on short notice.
