El Maguey

Martin and his crew are just exceptional! Been going there for over 20 years since moving to Affton. The food is always fresh and tasty and your drink glass is always full. Your servers are always friendly and attentive. Give them a try, you won't be sorry. Always a good time with great atmosphere!

We have been going to El Maguey since the 90’s. Consistently, hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in St. Louis. My normal go to is tostadas or chicken taco salad. Last night I tried something new, tamales. Delightful! Space is beautifully decorated and staff more than kind. ❤

This is a regular staple in our families diet but since COVID this place has gone down hill with their food. Today was the absolute worst experience I've had there. Don't order the fried chicken salad. Was Dyno bites cut up in lettuce, nothing else.
Ive got to say they didn't charge us for my meal and also let me order something different. But overall a disappointing dinner on a holiday weekend

Man the food here is absolutely amazing... like I have no words. The pollo feliz was perfect and the chimi cheesecake was just omg! Eat here you will love it

This place is a gem of the area. One of the best Mexican restaurants in St.louis. If you have never been here you should. If no one has told you about this place its because there keeping for themselves... Thursday night they have excellent prices on Lime margaritas what better place to enjoy your margarita. The chips were served warm and not heavily salted. the salsa had been made fresh. My quesadilla was fully loaded with meat and cheese the way I like it! Very reasonably priced. I definitely will be back!

I got the callejeros tacos with shrimp and carne asada and it was very good - have always enjoyed what I have gotten here. Also ordered a jumbo frozen lime margarita - more than enough for me to drink! 😂 The jumbo is probably equivalent to two normal sized drinks.

They were also short staffed there today, and super busy, and still managed excellent service. It's a smaller location but just as solid as the bigger ones.

Amazing experience on my lunch break. Was served super fast, and the birria tacos were insane. Definitely going to be coming here more often for sure!

Service and food were great! I ordered the fajita El Maguey, it was a huge portion and very tasty. Parking is limited as well as seating. I will be back.

I've been coming here well over a decade. Incredibly fast, Same staff, same amazing food every time. I pity the fool who doesn't choose this El maguey over every other local El Maguey

This place is small and compact, but have lots of tables... I've been going there for years I usually see the same servers, they are quick from taking your ordering to serving your meal, and quick to get tables cleared n cleaned to get the next group in to enjoy their dinner... Their food is awesome!!! Pricing is very reasonable!!!

If you don't love this SPECIFIC El maguey, you have either never been... Or you are a communist. I've been going to this location for well over 12 years, have had the same waiters, increasing quality & consistent pricing. What more could you ask for in a restaurant? Even their Fanta tastes better than other places. They are perfect. I love them.

Great and unassuming Mexican fare served by friendly staff. Price is pretty cheap and quality has not been a problem in the over 20 years I've been coming here. Order the Fajitas El Volcan for a change!

Update: Same great place and redecorated as well. Same great food and while the price on fajitas has risen(COVID supply chain issues) the quality has not diminished one bit!

Update: Even though a new competitor has opened close by, the new guy is getting bad reviews on their service and food quality. No one unseats El Maguey!!!
