This is a beautiful park with trails, kayaking and a small but easy access waterfall. The conservation area is great for the kiddos with hands on learning. The gift shop is very reasonably priced and has some very cute stuff.

Quiet clean little spot. Perfect for a picnic or to just relax. Short walking path in a wooded area is great. My toddler loves smokey the bear. Porta potty was clean. Parking can be limited at times when it's busy. Parking lot is small.

So fun! If you have kids then you should bring them! Little interactive games and things - have fish and snakes you can look at! The people at the front desk were so nice!

We got in four miles of hiking on a gorgeous December day. The trails are clearly marked and there is an easy to read map that I took a picture of with my phone before we started out. Looking forward to going back soon with a picnic and enjoying all the views.

Update for Spring of 23: The park is cleaned up nicely. Fresh painted hopscotch and other kids' games. Well marked and re-paved walking trails. All over a great place for the family.

Great place to go for walk, fish, and even swim. No cost public access that offers several non motorized boat launches and great bank fishing. You can find a swing if you float far enough also and a nice large rock to jump off of

Absolutely beautiful!!! This is my kids favorite place to go. Shoal creek is amazing. I walk the paths with my kids, hike the trails with my siblings. You can relax and walk the paths or actually exert yourself by hiking the trails. There are places to fish or just relax by the water. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. The best photos have us in them but you can get the general idea. Worth the visit!

Love hiking and fishing here. I hike the big loop about once a week during good weather. There is also a Joplin FB group that gives away a lot of free art here. It's a cool place. Great for family time or alone time.

Outdoor explore and play areas, live water activities, along with indoor activity center, a variety of classes offered monthly for All ages, including family activities too. A well stocked nature store, along with very knowledgeable staff for support.

This is my go to for a local walk. The full loop isn't very hard and is a bit over 3 miles. The upper part might be a little dangerous for smaller kids. Be aware that sometimes the area floods and can be shut off because of this. The trails are well maintained and easy to navigate.

Great place to get out into nature! The paved trails are great, but there's also trails throughout the woods that are even better! Didn't bring my bathing suit for the creek, but I definitely will be bringing next time!! Beautiful and serene.

Today was the annual native plant sale. Looked like a great success!
Perrineals, bushes, and trees. Perrineals $5. If you missed it today, be on the lookout for it next year.

I always enjoy my time here. Always somewhere you explore, some rock to collect, or plants to admire.
