Well Kept Barbershop

Where do I start: the owner, Ruben, has been cutting my hair for well over 15 years. He is professional, committed and is very detailed in his art (his art with the shape-ups and beards is phenomenal (very clean look), taking his time to make sure my haircut is sharp for my next court appearance before the judge with my client, my interview appearance as a legal advocate when I appear on Telemundo and Univision. Ruben is not just my barber he’s become a great friend and he has developed a wonderful team of barbers who also share his passion for his work. I highly recommend a haircut at Well Kept Barbershop.

A professional barbershop that still has that local barbershop feel. The owner and a lot of his staff are top level barbers and and while you can find a good fade in many places, the two things that makes this place stand out to me is:
-the ability to schedule your haircut
-they're willing to give you advice on what would help your haircut look good.

Ruben saved the day and helped me recover after a bad haircut. This is my go to especially before special occasions.

I had Ruben take care of my hair, the service was amazing. He did an amazing job with my hair and I will be going back to him. Planning on making Ruben my main barber I love his work.

Brought my son here for a haircut for the first time since our usual barber was unfortunately busy and we needed an emergency cut. They were incredibly nice to fit both of us in and an amazing job.

This is the best barbershop in Queens, hands down. Whether it's attention to detail throughout the haircut or within the shop design, there is no better experience and shop. And Ruben, at the helm of it, as a co-owner, is the GOAT, which explains why the barbershop is so good. Ruben goes beyond being a barber; the man is an artist. No exaggeration. Another key reason why Well Kept is the best barbershop in Queens is because all the other barbers are just as nice. Normally, getting a good haircut is a gamble if you go to any barbershop and don't have a go-to person there. But at Well Kept, you can rest assured that you'll come out of the shop looking fly with whoever you cut your hair with.

Went in on a whim & a hunch, after over a year & a half without a haircut thanks to COVID, the owner himself personally took me aside and made me look better than I thought I could going in - I'm still honestly shocked at the results. Ruben's clearly a master and dedicated to his craft, as well as the rest of his team. I wish I'd had this barber my entire life.

I been going to Ruben for many years now and followed him when he opened this gorgeous barbershop which he is constantly updating and making it more detailed so every time you notice something different. It gives a speakeasy vibe even showcasing barbershop antiques.

I prefer using their system which is by appointment, which locks in your prefer barber. They have a easy to use app (Tip: Book beginning of the month). I say this because I read a review before how the app does not work because it shows no availability, that is because they are that good at what they do and get booked up immediately. The app will also show you other barbers available. When Ruben is not available, I go to Jose, also known as Thetattedbarber. Another reason is you choose the services on the app and the total price is shown so no surprises at the end of your cut.

They do have walk ins, but that is up to your discretion.

Ruben's attention to detail and passion for perfection is what makes the cost worth it. I can tell you from past experience with other barbers, I would have to come home and finish the job, at Well Kept, I can go straight to my next destination knowing my cut is complete.

Pros: Easy to use App. Skillful Master Barbers. Attentive. Very Clean. Professionals
Cons: They book quickly. Parking is tough, give yourself time to find parking. there are free but mostly parking meter.

Ruben, the owner, reached out to make things right. I scheduled an appointment with him and got my haircut earlier today and it was such a wonderful experience - He's very kind, soft spoken and knows how to cut hair really well.

This is how a business should be run. Will be going to him again!

I have to say Ruben and his barbershop Well Kept are some the highlights of my crazy work week. The atmosphere is very calm and friendly. As the crazy work week usually drains my confidence levels, Ruben’s hair grooming services help revive them to aide in attacking another busy week. I have been a loyal customer of his for about 14 years and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Hands down, the best barbershop in NYC. I love coming here because I know I'm going to get a very high quality haircut along with an authentic NYC barbershop experience. The vibe in this place is immaculate. The barbers have hilarious banter with each other and it really feels like a homies spot. I was born and raised in the neighborhood and even though I've moved away, I love coming back here for the experience. 10/10.

I had a really bad haircut at a different shop last week and it was bothering me constantly. I showed up to Well Kept today and Reuben SAVED ME. He knew exactly what I was going for and had some expert input. CLEAN fade plus some great texture on top. Def found my new go-to spot

This is by far the best shop in nyc…honestly I have plenty of barbershops in my neighborhood but I rather travel the extra little bit to go see my guy Alex,! He’s very professional, detailed & knows what I like also if I decided to change it up he’s very adaptive to that! Takes his time when cutting, very warm & inviting. The staff in general is also great. I do happen to see the other barbers have repeat customers all the time! The crew is also great, they get along with everyone even if it’s not their client, this place has become family! The shop is clean, very slick, warm & inviting! Very well laid out! Ruben the owner is very on top of everything there, including cleanliness, appointments & of course making sure every guest there is good! I love my shop! The vibe is perfect & im never disappointed! You want a great haircut! This is THE barbershop in New York City!!
