Incredible treats at this brand new French bakery! We stumbled upon it 2 days after opening and it looked so good we bought 7 different items, plus coffee and tea. All were so wonderful they melted in your mouth! Chatted with the chef/owner, Emil, who even let us in early! Highly recommend this place!

Organic and Halal French bakery with scrumptious pastries, crepes, cakes, macaroons and breads. Lots of sweet and savory items. Their creamy salmon crepe was my personal favorite but was eaten before I could snap a pic.

Best of the best place! Delicious sweets/foods. Deserves more than 5 stars for sure. Service was very fast and caring.I tried almost everything there in this 2 months😆😆😆
And here are my Favorites : Delicious Spinach Artichoke and of course Old Fashion Almond Croissant.They were both wonderful in taste and yummy. However my wife’s favorite was Gluten free Hazelnut cookies.

Cafe de Royal is a wonderful addition to the Ridgewood dining scene and more than just a bakery. They serve beautiful and delicious pastries, homemade soups, and delightful souffles, crepes (both sweet and savory), and sandwiches with Turkish, Greek and French influences. Savories such as the Greek spinach triangles and sweets such as the old fashioned almond croissant are consistently delicious. If you are looking for lighter fare, the soups are also great, especially the lentil soup. Oh, and I did I mention they have several different varieties of baklava?! The owner and staff are super nice and friendly. The outside tables with cheery red umbrellas are a perfect spot to sit and relax. And the coffee is great, too!

Delicious crepes and bakery items! The service was excellent and scene is very aesthetically pleasing. Definitely recommend the savory crepes and macaroons.

Chocolate lava cake was OUTSTANDING! Better than what I tried in several European capitals. Also had their lemon cake and mango cake - exquisite taste and very light. They serve great tea, and serve it the right way. The cafe is spacious and full of light. A kind of place that makes you feel good. Will be there again.

Let me just say, oh wow! We were super hungry as we didn’t get breakfast, so we went a little bit crazy... we had croissant sandwich, which was simply delicious, brioche sandwich, which was as good, crepes - yummy. Turkish delights- to die for. And old fashioned almond croissant was simply amazing. Totally worth their 5 star reviews. The food, service, ambience everything was just top notch! Highly recommend!!!

A gem found in the Ridgewood Town center close to the train station- very friendly owner and staff with absolutely delicious food/pastries! Everything is very fresh and the decor is exquisite. For savory items, the mushroom crepe is rich in flavor and so is the soufle. All of the bakery items are outstanding as well, we particularly loved the Napoleon cake. Have been here a few times already and always very pleased! Definitely recommend visiting for an all around wonderful experience :)

Best banana pudding I ever tried. Have been late to events and engagements because of their banana pudding. My daughter had flourless gluten free chocolate cake. They also have other great desserts. The staff is wonderful and helpful. Also Organic coffee they serve is wonderful.

Do yourself a favor and visit this place! I doubt you'll ever go back to any other bakery. Selection, service, space is just outstanding! And there's always something new to try, even though we come here almost every week. Did I mention souffles? Or olive/cheese pies? Get one with a pastry, and you'll have a breakfast will take you to the dinner. Or this could be your dinner. But on top of all that it's the space itself! It's airy and roomy! You can always find a table for for four or even more and still carry a private conversation. Not needing to look for an empty chair before you even look at the selection or having strangers sitting on top of you? Priceless!

Not your average cafe , and ,like nothing else you will find in Ridgewood. This Russian owned cafe, brings hand crafted Eastern European cakes ,and pastries ,few of us will ever get the opportunity sample. Everything is pretty much incredible .the staff is warm and friendly , and the choices change daily . So every time go there is something new to try. Excellent Espresso, cappuccino and an assortment of teas .

This is one of my favorite cafes to go to! The dessert and pastries are amazing!!!! love how the desserts and pastries are not overly sweet. The staff is wonderful and very friendly! The place is very clean and smells delicious, like home!

This place is wonderful. As soon as you walk in, the scent of baked goods and chocolate is welcoming and enticing.
Am not often in this area but was there around noon so stopped in for lunch (there are several eateries nearby). I am so glad this was the place I chose. Had a chicken sandwich on baguette, a cappuccino, and chocolate mousse. Ordered a few pistachio baklava to go (they also have walnut). Everything was delicious.
The chef/owner was so nice.
Cafe de Royal is just across from the Ridgewood train station. If you’re nearby you should stop in. It’s also worth the trip from any location.

Cafe de royal has an amazing ambiance. The second you step in, you feel the intimacy that comes with the experience.

The baklava was flaky, tastes and light. I was recommended to have the earl gray tea with it and it paired so well.

Must try!

1st class experience at a fair and average price.

The paris trained russian chef who owns the cafe shows remarkable love and skill with his work which is reflective in the taste, texture, and presentation of the foods and deserts.

The environment reflects the food with its french mural and architecture style.

While it's only been open for a mere 2 months it's already busy and bustling with happy customers drinking tea, coffee and eating tasty deserts.

All for a fair and surprisingly average price. I would definitely visit again and maybe have a romantic evening here.

Omg! This place is amazing! People are super friendly, environment is nice and even the wallpaper is beautiful. Best eclairs ever! Anything I tried there was simply delicious! And fancy tea bags!! We will definitely go back.

These pastries are to die for! We got a piece of every cake they had to try them all. They were all delicious, just melt in your mouth, yet not too sweet. My absolute favorites were the chocolate mousse and the strawberry cheesecake. I don't know what they put in that cheesecake, and I'm not a cheesecake lover either, but holly-molly, it was the best cake I've ever had in my life! The chocolate mousse cakes were fluffy, not too rich, and simply perfect, with a surprise fruit in the middle. We also tried their chocolate chips brioches. We ripped the bag open in the car, as the smell was just so good, my daughter and I could not wait to get home to try them. OMG! I have never had a better brioche before. The flavor was just unbelievable!

I had tea and flourless chocolate cake. The cake was exceptional: perfect taste, perfect consistency, perfect temperature. The tea was of a very good quality, beautifully served. I absolutely will come back to try other pastries.

Pastries here are OUTSTANDING!!! Food here is delicious! HIGHLY recommend coming here. I have been able to eat macaroons, creme brûlée’s, sandwiches, and much more. Staff is so friendly and quality is wonderful. Their macaroons are a perfect combination of light and rich with flavor unlike Sooks. Anyway great job and great food.

Went to give a new bakery in town a try and it was amazing! Great variety for every taste. Tried 4 different pastries and each was better than the other. Can't wait to go back to try more! Good luck and welcome to Ridgewood!
