Decent Garage, Pricy as all hell but reasonable for the area. The guys working there are mostly pretty ok, and nobody raised a fuss when I brought my car in totally dea. Told them my mechanic couldn't take delivery til next morning we just shoved it into the corner. It's an old building and whatever the roof is made of comes off sometimes so you get plaster dust on your car sometimes, but I've never once been in an NYC garage that didn't have this problem.

Definitely backs up like crazy around 7-10am but otherwise you can just pull in, leave your keys on the seat and be gone.

They also have an awful bathroom that you can use. Probably not so nice for ladies but as a guy it's nice if you've been stuck in traffic on the sawmill for hours.

Also I've left nice stuff in my car there in plain view plenty of times for years and never had anything jacked, so not really sure what the reviews complaining about theft are about.

I've been parking at this GMC location for a year now and the current reviews are a little dated. UWS is crazy expensive, but this GMC is nothing like the $600-$700 monthly garage rates that are between west 70s-90s. We are pretty happy with this garage after searching for parking for over an hour on multiple nights. Late nights are a bit challenging if we're bringing the car back near to the closing time (midnight), but generally we've had great service and no trouble. Most attendants are pretty personable! When we call ahead 40 mins ahead of time our car is always waiting for us.

I think it's common sense to not leave valuables in your car or if necessary, have it out of sight / in a locked glove compartment / etc.

This is two blocks from Columbia. Ask for the student discount and negotiate a lower price(say matthew told me “$$$ WITH TAX” otherwise they’ll overcharge you, 20% tax is no joke). Nice guys but the wait in the morning is unbearable at times(10 mins sometimes), especially during the morning of an exam but u can sometimes wedge your car in and the guys will take park it for u later(i never had a problem at least). For the price, don’t expect high end but surely the best around Columbia.

I used to really like this garage when the former manager was there. It doesn't seem to be as well run since the new manager came in last year. Some of the staff have been very helpful, however, giving my car a jump when the battery was dead, etc.

Unfortunately they have raised their prices twice in the last year so I am looking around to see if I can do any better elsewhere.

I highly suggest not parking here. I had a locked suitcase under the seat that would take the average person a considerable effort to remove, inside contained some emergency material, clothes and an iPad. The suitcase was broken into and the iPad, plus some other things in the car, were stolen. I called to speak to the manager after this had happen (an extremely rude man named Raus who refused to give his last name for the police report) and his first words were yelled at us. Mind you, we have approached the situation in calm dexterity. The opportunity to have a professional conversation turned alarming and accusational by the wrong party.

As Consumer Reports would say: "Buyer Beware!"

Crazy overpriced but pretty common for the area. Expect to pay extra than what they list if you have an SUV or minivan. They won't take cash, only credit.

It was extremely easy to notice the low ethical and intellectual standards of its staff the moment I entered the parking lot. The employees were full of agressive energy and could not understand basic concepts of math or driving. Message to the owner of GMC Parking: you really need to get higher quality people working there.

NO STARS. Damage and theft. After being a patron for many years, they cancelled my contract because I kept inquiring about damage to my car. They are habitually late in getting your car ready. They will ding and scratch you car. They will steal things from your car. And then they will lie about it. This garage is not run by Columbia. The management of this garage will not believe you if you report abuse or bad service. Terrible, unethical, liars.

Absolutely terrible communication. We got to the garage at 7:45am and they gave us an “early-bird” 12-hr parking special. We were told we could park from 8am-8pm and pay a fee of $21. We came at 6:11pm and were charged $54 for the full price because apparently the “early-bird” parking ended at 6pm. 1. We were not told that and 2. Were eleven minutes late and had to pay $33 more for 11 minutes. Definitely will not be parking here again, would not recommend; I would rate 0 stars if I could.

Attendant was rude and possibly inebriated. I walked back after 10 min to ask for a refund because I had an uneasy feeling, given the items stoted in my car, and was not given a refund.
