Kuro Kirin Espresso & Coffee

Quiet cafe with personable and kind baristas. I got an iced vanilla latte and a blueberry muffin. Both were delicious! What makes me want to come back was the amazing service. It’s nice to interact with people who clearly love their job and have great energy.

Enjoyed the pumpkin flavor latte and the cappuccino. We had two scones, one cranberry and the other was cheese with red pepper flakes.

Everything was delicious!

Finally made it here to try the coffee and it was really tasty! I can't believe this is nearby in Inwood.
Definitely pricey for two iced latte/mocha with soy milk at $6.50 each, but that seems to be the standard in NYC.
They have lots of non-dairy milk options for $0.75 extra, as well as matcha, chai and tea, in addition to espresso drinks.
I went later in the day so there were not as many baked goods left, so I figure they must be good lol. :-)
Really nice set up, friendly baristas and worth patronizing a nice neighborhood addition!

I love coffee any time of day so I’m always looking for a coffee shop everywhere I go. I recently stumbled upon this place while walking around and found out they have Counter Culture one of my favorite coffee beans.

The coffee here is the best in the area.
I love supporting a local shop and not a franchise.
Consistently great coffee. From lattes to Americanos to mocchiatos to espresso. Even the grounds they sell for you to make your own coffee are delicious.

Beat match and cappuccino in the neighborhood hands down and when you visit Say high to Sydney she's the sweetest

Best decaf capucccino I’ve had in a while and the counter person was so nice and helpful.

They have real mugs (not paper) for eating in.

Delicious chocolate chip cookie which she offered to heat up for me.

Delicious coffee, friendly staff, small space but there was seating available early in on Saturday. Pastries were decent.

Excellent iced latte. Comfy and cozy but not very big inside. Easy walk from the Met Cloisters.

Update: After having moved away from NYC and tried many chais at many different coffee shops, I have to say that Kuro Kirin really still has the best chai I've ever had. I still think about it. Certainly one of the best chai lattes in the city, and Inwood is lucky to have one so close!

The chai here is quite good. This small Cafe is quite cute, clean, and relaxing. I was surprised to see that there was actually a few tables in the back where some people were doing work. I haven't done so myself, but this looks like a great place to grab a coffee and get a little work done.

Cash recommended but not required.

I have been looking for good grains and perfectly made cappuccino close to home for years!
And this is it! Best coffee in all uptown!
Highly recommend going between 8am and 9am and enjoy the rainbow on a sunny day that happens!

Delicious perfect Matcha Latte! Must try! . Attentive and friendly customer service. Awesome playlist! Calm relaxing vibe to decompress from the world. Not crowded thankfully.

Really great experience here. It's definitely a local coffee shop, but I was made to feel very welcome, even as a visitor.

There's great coffee, plentiful plugs, good restrooms, and airy workplace. The only notable downsides were that there isn't any substantive food, and the stools are uncomfortable. All around, great spot though!

Best matcha lattes in the area

This cafe serves the best vanilla cappuccino I've found in NYC. The staff is friendly and attentive, making each visit a delightful experience. Highly recommend for any coffee aficionado.

Their chai tea lattes are good from past experiences. But their vegan blueberry muffin and banana bread is awesome. My favorite is the banana bread. But you can't wrong with either one. If you want something sweeter, then get the blueberry muffin. The staff are nice and friendly. Very accommodating. They have a nice and chill ambiance. The muffins are nice and moist. Not dry!

The Hidden special spot. I love this place. Baristas are super experienced and they unvelievably high quality coffee. I am 100% a coffee person. This place is cozy, clean and well managed high quality coffeeshop with warm hearted baristas. Recommend with a full condfidence. Check it out.

I love Kuro Kirin! It's a nice little space to grab coffee to go, or sit and get a little bit of quiet work done. The staff is nice, and the drinks are great. The coffee quality is A+. Every time I've been there, they've used fresh beans from Counter Culture coffee. The pastries are good, if a little unremarkable.
No dogs allowed.
