Veterans Field Park

Clean and beautiful open area with spectacular views and photo ops of NY and the George Washington Bridge across the Hudson. Park is just north of the George Washington Bridge.

Clean and new... Not bad for what used to be a toxic waste dump site. Besides a full scale soccer/baseball field, there's a playground, exercise stations, a walking trails that kids use for scooters as well. Located in Edgewater, right along River Road.... The park is adjacent next to the Hudson River, and a beautiful place to just take a walk and relax.

After being renovated in the last couple of years, the football, soccer and baseball turf fields are amazing, a real nice job done. There are basketball and tennis courts, a kiddie playground and walking paths throughout, plenty of parking facing river road, dogs are not allowed on the fields but can walk the paths.

Lovely little park complex here with multiple soccer fields, basketball court, and playground areas. The walking paths criss-cross each other - many of which are right next to the water overlooking the city skyline. They even wrap around the quaint little condo complex nearby adding to the scenic route you can take affording you better views of the GWB. Dotted along these paths are cute little benches offering up a relaxing and tranquil repose from the hustle and bustle of the urban surroundings. Even if you're familiar with North Jersey, this is a welcomed retreat. Highly recommended!

For me, this park is a water site---I've only visited via kayaks and paddle boards---and live across the river in NYC. There are few places to pull off the river on the Jersey side south of the Palisades and this is one of them. The giant flag is beautiful and befits the purpose of the park in remembering those that served. It also serves as a great aid in instantly knowing where you are on the river and as a wind gauge. Now, for those, like me, that get here by paddling: At high tide there is no beach (the whole shore will look like fairly large boulders and rocks, so plan accordingly. From mid-tide to low tide there is a small beach composed of a mix of sand, pebbles and small rocks (see photos). At low tide the beach will be obvious as a short notch at the center of the park's shoreline with large boulders behind it and on either side. If you are due east from the flagpole, the center of the short-in-length beach (maybe 10 yards?) will be just a few yards, 20 or so, N of the flag. Photos with the inflatable standup paddle board are from summer 2015 while the park was still under construction (or renovation, not sure which). Others are from different visits between then and 2021.

Great park , is big , has water sprinklers, the floor is covered so is very good for the kids to play , multiples playgrounds, a beautiful view to NY but what I loved the most , very clean and it has a gym area for 16 and oldest , you can exercise while the kids play❤

Like water on a duck...Beautiful area grounded in natural abundance. Located near generous slivers of public park lands integrated within west Harlem's urban sprall. 😍

We take kids to this park often. It's great place and comfortable. There are restrooms, tables for eating, playgrounds, soccer and etc fields.

Probably the best place to go during COVID-19. You can find everything you need here!! Perfect walk way by the river, playground for kids, you can also play soccer,football, baseball here. Very huge place to chill. It’s close to everywhere and has a parking lot.

Nice clean park. No dogs allowed. Ballfields. Riverfront walk.

New playground with rubber floor. One sized for older kids and one for toddlers. Washrooms also present. Beautiful grounds with flowering trees, baseball fields etc. Convenient to drive to; allows exiting the parking lot from the traffic light so it’s easy to head south on River Road. Also EV charging stations next to the community center. Great overall!!

We are definitely one of the regulars at Veterans park, it’s just great on all levels, adults and kids and our little friends. So many different events the town throws during each season.
It gets windy when it’s cold 🥶 but we still go .
It’s such a community literary so many people know each other!

There are lots of choices things to do. Fun, safe, historical. Family fun lots of activities.

What a beautiful park with a very cool playground with spaces for all different ages of kids. We love it here!

Good place to hang out with friends or spend time with family. But for some areas and some times you need to make reservations.

This park is the creme de la creme of locsl parks. Huge area, soft surface, imaginative large play structures and a nice breeze.
