Pierre & Michel Authentic French Bakery

Couple of weeks ago, we visited Pierre Michel Bakery randomly and were impressed by their delicate flavor of almond croissant.

We detoured to get some pastries in the past weekend but almost everything was sold out at 8am and here are what we got.

The decor looks humble but they bake one of the best croissants in NYC/NJ. It’s crispy and flaky with beautiful layers. We love their almond croissant so much but unfortunately we only got their almond chocolate croissant this time.

Amazing baked goods and pastries. I feel like I’m in France when I walk in and the service is friendly and quick! Highly recommend!!

The bakery has so many exquisite desserts and pastries that will want you to order everything. I absolutely loved the macaroons purchased the day of, you are able to tell they were made the day of because of how fresh they are. Their coffee and cappuccino is good as well.

This is a wonderful bakery with so many delicious desserts to pick from. I especially love their creme brûlée and macarons. Their berry tarts are also quite good. The staff is friendly and kind.

Fast and nice service. Everything was delicious. I'm happy and I have luck than this bakery it's close to my home. Can you add more not sweet options? Recommended yo my friends. Thanks

The baked goods are all delicious. The croissants are exceptional. The sandwiches are great because the bread is on point. The pastries are amazing…they’re sweet, but not overly sweet. The flavors are all exemplary.

I love love LOVE the Tropezienne..the brioche is always perfect and if you love creams and custards like myself you’ll understand why it’s so amazing.

I had the good fortune to order a Croquembouche, French wedding cake, from P & M Bakery in New Jersey, after researching what a French wedding cake is like. This was to celebrate my son and his fiancé's (who is French) civil marriage 2 weeks ago. I also had a wonderful experience working with Alexandre who advised me not to pick up the cake the day before because it really would not be fresh or delicious enough.(I live in Connecticut.) Alexandre went out of his way to make arrangements to be sure this cake would be fresh - and it was truly magnifique and mouthwatering. His efforts and communications were both helpful and so kind. I have never had such a wonderful retail expereince ever!
I truly wish I lived closer to Pierre & Michel's amazing bakery!

A taste of France in Elmwood Park. Cute little place full of lots of desserts and pastries. All of them are delicious and you can tell the bake with love!

I worked as a French pastry chef in the past. So I have been on the hunt for great French pastries in US. I have been to Mason Kaysor, NY , Almondine Bakery , The French Workshop, etc etc But this place IS THE most authentic. The youngsters working behind the counter Abbey and Eric are the BEST. They are so young but so professional. So cool to see them at work. Coming back to the food - The eclairs are the best. The croissants are air light , buttery, flaky heaven. Mille feuille was flavorful, light and had well balanced flavors. Very authentic. Customer service was even better! I ordered a coffee to go and they mistakenly thought it was for to have at the restaurant and they delivered it to the table. When I mentioned it was to go, they told me I could have the coffee there and then they will give me another to go for free. I declined it but talk about going above and beyond!! This place is the new standard for French bakeries for me till I find a better one :)

This authentic french bakery/coffee shop will amaze you. The deserts are excellent and the bread is crunchy and chewy. My wife and I love this place. And yes it takes time to prepare "delicious" so be patient. It will worth the wait

Came here for my brother's birthday cake and it was amazing! Everyone loved it. I was searching for French bakeries and this place came up and once I read the reviews and saw the pictures I knew I wanted to try it. I ordered La Passion and it was so delicious. Everything in there looks so good and perfectly presented. The girl in the front was super sweet, friendly, and helpful and the chef was really nice and friendly. I will definitely be going back.

I’ve been to the somerville location and this location is just as good and the same amazing experience is guaranteed! the croissants were perfect and flakey and the coffee was to die for. You just have to visit every location and try each thing as you go! :)

One of my favorite Bakery. Amazing baked goods and cakes. Parking could be a challenge as it’s along a busy road but it’s so worth going. Friendly staff and their Croissants 🥐 are to die for. Favorite is the Strawberry Tart and Creme brûlée ❤

Came in today to check out the pastries, theres a lot to choose from, as always a good ambiance. The workers and owners are very friendly. The macarons are out of this world, I will come again!

Amazing! I was frantically calling bakeries at 8pm to order a cake for a relative's birthday the next day and Jonathan was SO accommodating and nice! The bakery closes at 8pm and he answered my call at 8:01 like an ANGEL! He called the chef to make sure the cake I wanted could be made in time and called me back to confirm everything with me. We had the Frasier cake, which was not only BEAUTIFUL, it was DELICIOUS!!! We also bought some macarons, a tiramisu and a tart from there and they were all to die for! I am ordering from there again today for another relative's birthday now and we are trying the Metisse Mouse. Can't wait! Definitely recommend this bakery! A++++++

Looooooove this place. My husband and I come here every year to order cakes for special occasions. Cakes are incredibly delicious. Ordering over the phone is little hard, they never answer the phone and the staff isn't friendly. I'm only here for the cake.

Our favorite bakery in the area. They have an amazing selection of pastries, croissants, macarons and more. Everything is fresh, flaky and delicious. We especially love the passion fruit pastry. The staff is friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend Pierre & Michel to anyone looking for a taste of France in Bergen county NJ.

Ordered a birthday cake over the phone, wasn't ready when I got there but 15 minutes later I picked up an utterly gorgeous and truly delicious gateau. It's mostly milk chocolate mousse with a raspberry layer, a chocolate sponge, and a sweet and crunchy bottom layer. As an amateur baker myself, I'm picky about cakes. The flavors and textures were perfectly balanced, and it was just sweet enough to be satisfying. The mini macarons on top were also just right, flavorful and crisp. I'll definitely be coming back here and I look forward to trying the brioche and croissants. I would just call before picking up an order to make sure it's ready especially if you're not coming from nearby. Also the pricing was very reasonable, $36 for an eight person cake of unbeatable quality.

Highly recommend the dessert with passion fruit and chocolate. Its so freaking delicious. I like the tarts. Can't wait to come back for more
