Inwood Library

The library has moved to a storefront a half block up & on the other side of the street.

The staff is still super lovely, & they have a few programs to allow “browsing” even though you can’t touch something if you’re not taking it home. So glad my library is open again safely!!!

Never had an issue here . Staff is nice .

I adore the staff here! They are so helpful and remember what my daughters are into reading and have made great recommendations! It’s always clean and welcoming and even the security staff is kind! So lucky they are in my neighborhood! I go at least once a week!

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable atmosphere but very small (only one floor) compared to previous location. No more movies to borrow and book selection is almost none. I miss the previous location ☹ For whatever reason(s) they moved, at least they are still located in the same street.

::Update:: 😀 Thank you for the heads up that this small location is temporary. Now I have something nice to look forward to!

A small, temporary library with a small but diverse selection of books and periodicals available and Internet-capable computers for public use. Friendly and helpful librarians make visits a joy.

I visit this perfect little library every couple of days to borrow books and movies, and to read and work. I also keep an eye out for their many community events. It is constantly being put to use by all sorts of different people from the neighboring community and they se to provide really great resources for their patrons purposes. The librarians, guards, and clerks are always courteous and helpful too. I love it!

We treasure Inwood Library and its staff. It's so nice that the librarian greets my 3 yr old daughter by name every time we see her. As a mom trying to instill a love of books and reading in my child, it means so much to me when the staff goes out of their way to say hello or help us with a book. Additionally they have story time several days in the week, and it's a great hangout on yucky weather days.

The NYPL is critical to NYC. It is an amazing resource for the community.

This branch has done very well during the period while it is relocated awaiting its new home.

This library and the amazingly awesome staff (especially Eric) exceeded my expectations! I'm currently visiting New York on vacation but had a phone interview scheduled as well (crazy I know). I was freaking out not knowing where was I going to be able to conduct a phone interview in a quiet space in NYC (the land of noise 24/7). Long story short, the team provided me a private room at the library even tho I wasn't a New York resident and allowed me to reserve the space for a couple of hours while I conduct my phone interview! Thanks again Inwood Library!!!

Cute little set-up they have here. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It's especially nice seeing kids enjoying themselves in the branch whenever I stop by with my own daughters.

The Inwood library is warm, responsive to community and patrons. Its staff are available to all, helpful to the max and reach out to those who are too shy to go to them. In particular, Cathy , the charismatic security guard, maintains order, community spirit, watches over children alone by the elevator and helps those new to technology to log on. Cathy makes certain teens and tweens respect one another and other library patrons. She capably and competently makes noisy tweens and teens exit if they violate library rules. She would be fabulous with students in a school as well. What a role model and model of the library community.

I've been using this library since I was in middle school, and it has never disappointed. Phenomenal staff and atmosphere, good selection of books, and always clean. Definitely deserved the win in “NYC's Best Public Library” competition.

The library has grown beautifully. The way it's done its airy and there are more computers. The staff is very helpful and patient. I appreciate my library and its staff.

Wow, on a very muggy day like today, being inside this library is a respite. I just noticed this library has become more loaded with people (many kinds & ages) since the first time I came here years ago. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Wonderful collection, helpful caring staff, programs that meet the community needs. The Inwood Public Library is a model for all community resources. Excellent customer service and a deep commitment towards helping all who walk through the doors makes this library an invaluable gem.

It's a great Library and great place to go to when you just want to relax , have some peace , and read books . The workers are very polite and pleasant .

Great library with all of the expected services. Come here to study, use the computer, find a good read - the atmosphere is perfect for it. And the staff are great too.

I go almost everyday. It's really peaceful (sometimes 🙄) and the people that work here are nice (sometimes) but they try and keep things in control and make sure it's a good visit for everyone.

Great staff. They are extremely helpful and insightful, and now they are open seven days a week. Which is quite a privilege to have In a library.

I was hoping for a good reunion @ NYPL but they dont have great listeners and rare finding nice people
Kids seem to have too much fun at this place
Its last resort for me I just use internet at home now or sit inside to spend time between errands
