Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar

On September 9, 2023, I reserved the semi-private section at Hook & Reel in Elmwood Park, NJ to celebrate my husband's 40th Birthday. Everything turned out great. We decorated the area, and it looked amazing. We had a party of 20 plus people and 2 servers. The servers were the best. They were patient, efficient, constantly checking in, and delivered the food hot and without mistakes. My party group was fully satisfied and couldn't believe the service/very reasonable cost. We had appetizers, dinner, and drinks. We brought our own cake and the staff/ Manager brung it out and joined in to sing Happy Birthday!! My husband was overwhelmed with joy.

I would like to say thank you to the Manager, Romeo for all of the accommodations and having such a great staff that provides efficient service. Thank you to one of our servers, Nicole- you were great!! Thank you to server number 2 for dancing with us and being great as well. Hook & Reel rocks!!

The food was excellent. Please be aware that there might be a waiting list. Nevertheless, it’s definitely worth the experience.

It was a very long day, I was tired and hungry and it was just my 40th birthday last week. I really wanted some good seafood that I didn’t have to make myself. My bf googled “seafood near me”, and we ended up at Hook & Reel. We were excited to try something new and Hook & Reel did not disappoint. We stuffed our fn faces with sooooo much seafood. We got “The Reel Catch” with tons of crab legs, shrimp, and black mussels. It was incredible. We ate absolutely everything. Sam was the best server! Since this was our first time, he thoroughly explained the menu and his suggestions were right on. We will be recommending this place to everyone and we’ll absolutely be back. I ordered special for $53 it was so delicious and tastes so good. We also add 1lbs of head-off shrimp and black mussels.

Over from the UK for work and fell in love with this place. Manager is an absolute legend, staff are fantastic and a credit to him. So are the chefs as the food is unbelievable. I’ve loved my time in the US and looking forward to seeing my family. The only downside is not having a place that can even come close to this place in the UK. Thanks again guys for your hospitality, I’ll be back

We loved our experience here. We both had the seafood boils that included snow crab, shrimp, clams, corn, sausage and potatoes.
Our server Sam was great. He checked on us and informed us about the specials.

Found this gem about a week ago and already ordered from here a handful of times. Food is absolutely amazing! I especially appreciate the care they put into their takeout order packing to make it convenient for people to eat without any hassle and have a quick cleanup. I highly recommend this place!

Just went to Hook and Reel for the first time. Ordered the seafood boil for two. The manager and our waiter Sam were excellent and patient. Took time to explain the menu to us. Food was great would definitely recommend!!

I have always wanted to try a seafood boil and this place was my opportunity and I was not disappointed. The wait staff is very friendly and the food always gets to you in a very timely manner. We go here at least twice a month if not more and we will always come back for more seafood.

On October 13th I came in with my family and may I just say ..WOW the ambiance is so comforting they make you feel welcome as if you are supposed to be here . It was my oldest son birthday he was turning 21 so for his first drink I got him the “ potion of the ocean” this drink is served over rocks with 3 different tequilas! Anyhow he loved it and I was the designated driver after 3 of those drinks ! The food was perfect nothing was too salty or too bland just perfect props to the chef ! I will be coming back soon , if you ever in the area visit this location they are very nice there !

Me and my friend we went for the first time last night, we tried the reel catch w extra mussels, everything was PERFECT, Like beyond perfect, the portion, the Cajun sauce, the seasoning, you literally can tell how fresh the seafood was and how clean everything looks.
Drinks: We ordered margaritas on the rocks, very strong, love it!
Our waitress JoJo was amazing!, so fresh and w a lot of energy, I really like her vibes, we def gonna come back and request for her.

This place combines all elements of great family restaurant. The cost is affordable and quality is good. My brother and went with our sons. I can't wait to go back.

I don't give alot of places high ratings but this restaurant deserves it! The decor is beautiful inside. The atmosphere is chill, music and different tvs, and the employees are very nice! The location is great plenty of parking space. The food is delicious 😋. Prices are reasonable.

Hook & Reeal has quickly become one of my favorite locations when I am in the mood for a seafood boil! Food is served quickly and is always delicious. Oh and the hush puppies! My gosh, I don't know what they do to their hush puppies, but I am a fan! The calamari is always tender and season beautifully.

Great place to enjoy nice fresh sea food. The cocktails are very sweet so if you enjoy strong liquor don’t order them. Overall this place will make you feel you are closer to the beach :)

The food here is really good. I particularly love the crab meat fries (omg) but everything else is tasty and well prepared. Their margaritas are good too, make sure you add a flavor 😉. All around good spot to eat for a great price!

We really enjoyed our food. Tasted even better on the second day! My uber eats orders are always on point. My husband and I will be coming in to the restaurant for dinner soon to see what the restaurant is like. Sorry, we ate most of the food before we took the photo!

Great food!!! If you love seafood then this is it. We went on a Sunday night and this place was relatively empty. We started with our drinks. Hubby had a piña colada and I had the mango swizzle. Both definitely very tasty and had a good amount of alcohol. Our food came out in about 15 minutes so definitely fast service. We ordered a boil to share with Dungeness Crab, Snow Crab, and half a pound of shrimp as well as a Shrimp Po’Boy with sweet potato fries. Let’s start with the po’boy which let me tell you as basic as it is the sauce that it comes with is to die for. They need to bottle that and sell it on its own that’s how good that sauce is!! The shrimp were nice and crispy with a perfect cook on it!! The sweet potato fries were out of this world delicious! The boil is another delicious meal. Although it was a tiny bit overcooked, it was great! The shrimp were awesome and the boil flavor we chose (seasoned garlic butter) was definitely a great flavor! The crab legs were so juicy and meaty!! We will definitely be going back!!
