Osteria Laura NYC

We had a reservation downtown for a friend's birthday dinner last Friday but the celebrant suddenly was running late and the original restaurant couldn't accommodate anything past 10 mins from the original reserved time. So off we scrambled to find a restaurant in Resy that can accommodate a group of 10 at 7pm on Friday. I also thought of this place as I've seen the wonderful reviews in the past. So I decided to call and they were able to squeeze us in.

We were given a long table and basically had our own little section upon entering. The place wasn't big but just right, with a nice bar and great music. Pretty good vibe. My husband and I weren't drinking but everyone loved the drinks especially the Holy Water. We also kicked it off with the Fritto Mix for 2 which had wings, mozarella sticks, calamari and popcorn shrimp with various sauces on the side. We enjoyed it.

For entrées, most of the group ordered the Ribeye and we unanimously agreed it was pretty good as well as the green beans that came with it. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmigiana dish and enjoyed it. We also ordered Spaghetti Bolognese just so we know how good their pastas are and it was delicious.

For desserts, we ordered flan, gelato, and the Tortino al Cioccolato with ice cream and this was a hit. The music also became better and better as the evening went by. Service was warm and attentive. Interestingly, unlike other restaurants here that'll automatically charge you 20% or higher for big groups, they actually only charged us 18%, which made it easier for us to decide to add more gratuity of course. We also met Laura, the owner of the restaurant, as she was pretty nice and hands on. Thanks Laura and Team, for making it an enjoyable evening for all of us!

my legit absolute favorite place to eat while I’m in the city. The shrimp dumplings is the perfect app to share or eat alone. I would usually get the penne vodka, but tonight I went for the skirt steak, potatoes and spinach. YUM so happy with my pick 💛

I found this place because I was craving Italian food! This menu was great to fulfill my craving. I didn't expect this place also have ambience! I got penne alla vodka because it's my go to Italian Dish! I was so stuffed from it and they also give complimentary bread, which is nice and thinly sliced. The drinks were so strong but also tasty! What made this experience even better was the server, Angel. She is indeed an Angel - so nice, tons of menu knowledge and went above and beyond to make our experience great. Totally recommend and will be back.

Loved this place!! Can't believe it took us this long to find it!! Food was well prepared and seasoned right! Both meals were excellent. Above all it was reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and Laura was so nice and came around to make sure everything was perfect! A great family place.

A quick update - there's quite a cozy feel in here now it's winter. Step out and sit down for a warming Italian dinner!

At last! And well worth the wait!

So, I moved in to a new place on 115th St in September 2020 as covid was raging through NYC. I spotted this enticing osteria but circumstances conspired to keep me away till today.

So it was all the more satisfying to tuck in to a hearty dinner "tout seul" tonight. There's definitely a sense of home-cooked food here, a very friendly environment, and reasonably priced drinks, making Osteria Laura a tempting local whether you're eating alone or with friends or family.

I'll be back!

The place is clean, the food is fresh, the prices are reasonable - I am definitely coming back and bringing my friends!

This is one of my fav places in Harlem! High quality food. I had the Strip Steak with roasted potatoes and string beans. So good! And for drink I got a cocktail called Dirty Passion, amazing! At the end this amazing Nutella Crepe with Strawberries : the end of the world!!!

I never ever leave reviews- rarely does a place deserve it like this spot. Met a friend for dinner coming from Brooklyn yo Harlem- quite a trek. Let’s just say I’ll be going back. The music is amazing- Italian restaurant playing afrobeat- beautiful. The owner Laura is a beautiful spirit also. The people in there are super friendly and feels like walking into a episode of cheers. And the food- on point. The drinks- on point. What more could you really ask for? Don’t ask for more. This is enough of what you’ll need. Go there.

They are super accommodating and their food is absolutely delicious and they provide some healthy portions ;)
Literally would order for delivery a few times a week for a period.
My only complaint is that they close at 11pm

Very good food and nice staff! Italian food with lots of variety to choose from! Don't forget to ask for the red house wine!

What a wonderful dining experience! Every staff member was beyond gracious. We went with two babies and toddler (who has severe food allergies) and they were so accommodating, double checking everything and sending the chef out to specifically speak with us. Great for both families and date nights. The food was outstanding. So happy to have this gem in our neighborhood!

I am eating as I am typing. This place is incredible. The ambience is so cozy and comfortable!! Laura and her staff go above and beyond to make sure you are feeling relaxed. The cocktails from the bar are excellent. I definitely give this place 5 stars. I am visiting from the Virgin Islands and I would recommend this place to everybody. Well seasoned food. Excellent DJ.

Love coming here for a quick drink! The food is good as well, I had their NY strip which was seasoned well and tasty. Also come on Wednesdays to see Angel, she’s a great bartender, made my mojito perfect.

Very nice after-work atmosphere, kind of small, but nice intimate setting. They also offer outdoor seating as well. The drinks were on the money, and the food was absolutely scrumptious. The prices were great as well. I will definitely be visiting this establishment again, and bringing others with me to experience this gem. 💎

Came back from a weekend flight to find a new restaurant - definitely a surprise for the corner. Had already eaten and wanted to get home, but had to pop in and check it out - had a drink, an espresso, and picked up some buratta to take home. Everything was excellent - especially the buratta, which my wife chastised me for not grabbing more of - and the ownership and staff seem great. Looking forward to a proper meal here, as the to-be-expanded menu & specials (especially the specials! I should have looked at the sandwich board and had a proper meal!) looked great, and there was a genuineness missing from a lot of the quick-cash-in type places I've seen open over these few blocks in the last ten years or so.

A fine place to stop in for an espresso and a quick drink on a lazy day as well.

Amazing Italian food!! The best eggplant parmesan I've ever had. The lasagna is delicious, too! "Happy hour" from 5 - 7... excellent bartender. It's a cozy and quaint space. Laura the hostess is very welcoming. The grand opening party was wonderful!

The food is excellent and so is their great Italian wine, their Italian chief came out to meet us because we asked if he had a moment to meet us , we wanted to tell him how delicious our meal was , he was very nice and even explained some of his cooking techniques. He also suggested a desert . The salad was so fresh , our meal was like homemade. I highly recommend this restaurant. Staff is very attentive.

Best service I've ever had in my life. Had extra food and let us sit anywhere we wanted. Hung up coats and open chairs to us. Perfect experience! The food was great and got free champagne! Best restaurant experience yet.

Excellent take out I have had in a long time. The Rigatoni Zucchine e Gamberi was light and delicious. Definitely will recommend and go back. Service was kind and welcoming. Nice spot.
