Happy Warrior Playground

Kids love all these central park playgrounds. They have varied features. We are lucky to have these well maintained and modern well thought-out playgrounds

Beautiful view from the park to the church, and we heard the bell rang, which was nice. I like the circle area surrounded by greens and trees. It’s right next to Ryan Health Women’s and Children’s Center, which could be convenient.

This is a place called home for us that grew up here. We are a family, and even now extended family to all newbies. They are welcomed into our loop. 🥰

This is my absolute favorite playground in this neighborhood. My kids and I have visited all.the playground in the neighborhood over the years and we always come back to this one because its our favorite.

I remember back in the early 80's, that park was known as Rock Steady park because of a famous breaking crew that practiced there. A few members of that crew lived next and around that park. Plus, the handball court walls were decorated with the most beautiful graffiti murals. In the early 90's, they started having reunion anniversaries there called the Rock Steady Crew anniversary. They stopped having it there in the mid 90's because those anniversaries became so popular that the crowd capacity outgrew the venue and then the community board made a big stink about it, even though it was a once a year event. Overall, that place brings fond memories of my youth.

I love all the monkey bars for the children that is even accessible to the younger kids (Unlike Tecumseh Playground where the ones there feel high up and crowded). This is so important.

Great playground. It has a water element in the summer, a little kids area, lots of basketball hoops, an open blacktop space.

I work at this place. I'm in charge of the upkeep and appearance of the park.
Back in the 80's I use to break dance here and play handball before they took out the court.
