Hofstra Park

Very nice and clean. Nice views of surrounding cities and the quarry. The baseball park and basketball courts are very nice and comfortable with bleachers and benches. Also in the summer there's a little water park for the children to cool off and play.

Hofstra Park (located in Haledon, New Jersey) is a fantastic and scenic hilltop park situated among the property's wooded acreage. The park offers many different amenities, including a softball field, a soccer field, a basketball court, a large play area featuring numerous swing sets and various playground equipment, a very generously sized pavilion as well as grills for your convenience, a smoothly paved bike path that wraps around the entire park and even a children's water park/splash area for those hot summer days in addition to an October hay ride. The park is very clean and the workers are very consistent with its up keeping. You're also very likely to spot some deer among the wooded areas when walking around the park. When I was younger I very much enjoyed riding my bicycle around the bike path, exploring the woods (be safe as it can be quite steep in some areas) and enjoying some snacks near the pavilion. Over the years they've upgraded the park and put a great deal of work into it which is always great to see. I frequently visit this park and have for around 15 years more or less. It's one of my absolute favorite place to visit and I find it very relaxing to walk around the park or sit among the trees and watch the deer.

Mainly here for soccer lately but have been coming here since the kids were small. This area improves every year and is routinely patrolled by police.

A hidden gem tucked away in a remote corner at the end of a dead end street in a tight residential neighborhood. It's not a huge park but it is quiet and peaceful and is good for a brisk walk or run. Situated on top of a rock quarry with sweeping views that kinda sorta resemble the Grand Canyon, but not really.

We love it here. New soccer field, can't wait to see the games!

Gotta try the water park. Only $2 per person. The kids will not be disappointed

One of my favorite easy spots to watch the sunset because the sky feels so open when you look over the quarry. The other side of the park also offers great views of the city and all your favorite Hawthorne landmarks. I went up with my girlfriend on 9/11 and could see the pillars of light where the twin towers were. It was great to be able to see such a powerful image in remembrance and honor of those we lost that day.

Edit: they added a turf soccer field. It's still amazing.

For a small, compact space, it's got a lot! Parking, walking/jogging/biking trails through the woods, sports facilities, a big sprinkler thingie for the kids, a playground, a pavillion, picnic areas, and natural areas. But it is a borough park so check at Prospect Park city hall.

A very nice park on top of the hill, a couple of baseball fields, kiddie park, water park is not opened daily, basketball courts, tennis courts, walking path and ample parking spaces, dogs allowed on a leash and a couple of porter pottys, kept clean which was a pleasure to see.

Bike trail, small water park, multiple courts, a hiking trail and a decently sized playground inside make it a cool place to stay. The view of the quarry is pretty interesting too.

Nice place for children,well fenced and clean,basketball and other games practice.If you want jogging in a safe area,Hofstra park is the place to go.

It's small. Good walkway. In the summer they have a sprinkler system for the kids. Very nice park.

Great park to bring the kids and have a relaxed time walking around or playing basketball, baseball, and soccer.

All gated for children playground. Two sections for little children and beggar one for bigger kids. First playground we my girl and I went that the door is opened!

This is a great place to play sports, go on a walk or hangout. If you pick the time you go carefully, you can either avoid people or play in a crowd
