always pass this place and was finally able to check it out. had breakfast and honestly it was just a good ol breakfast. solid and simple. friendly staff as well!! will for sure make a return to try their other food !!

Dees is just a great local place to go and have lunch or breakfast. The banana and walnut French toast is the best. At lunch, I I typically will have a cheeseburger which is always good.

Landmark neighborhood cafe. Friendly service, good food and reasonable prices.

We are reluctant to tell you about this wonderful place because we truly do not want this place to become too crowded. We wanted a new place to have breakfast out. Well we found it. Dee's luncheonette is simply perfect. Good food, decent prices, friendly and helpful staff especially Debbie. Quick service. An all female staff. You know women get things done. We have literally driven by here for decades. So glad we finally stopped in. We will be back again and again!

After finishing up my dentist appointment in Hawthorne, I was craving pancakes! So I ventured on over here for the first time. The staff was very friendl/outgoing and the pancakes were beyond PHENOMENAL!!! I’m definitely coming back here again :)

While winding my way through the quiet side streets of Hawthorne, NJ, early one summer morning, I unexpectedly came upon a charming little storefront. Sitting quietly on the corner of Diamond Bridge Road and Hawthorne Avenue, I stumbled upon Dee's Luncheonette.
The first time I stepped inside, It reminded of the local sweet shop from my childhood days. The charm is everywhere from the hand made wooden NY Giants and Jets helmets, to the old school chrome Toastmaster toaster.
Grabbing a stool at the counter, I was promptly greeted by Dee Maguire, owner and proprietor.
"Hi hon, coffee?"
Dee briskly took my order while her staff (Carmen and Denise) attended to other patrons. My breakfast was served quickly, yet I never felt rushed. My coffee is always hot and the refills appear automatically. The din of local conversation fills the room with authenticity.
Her customers are mostly neighbors and friends who no doubt, have had their breakfasts and lunches there for years. One perfectly layered Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich later, and I was regular.
Take it from someone who has frequented his share of NJ eateries, if you're looking for a delicious breakfast (or lunch), a great cup of coffee and a little sanctuary, look no further than the corner of Diamond Bridge Road and Hawthorne Avenue.

Drove by this place countless times and after reading the nj.com article I figured it was probably about time. I had pancakes with hash and eggs. The food was really good and my server was awesome. Definitely a gem in Hawthorne, I’ll be back soon!

I live in Hawthorne and have been to every bagel place and diner in town, and surrounding area. There is really no comparison, Dee’s superiority is evident in many ways. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They always keep a very clean and safe environment. I have lived all over the Passaic Bergen area of NJ, tasting all different meat(bacon, sausage, or Taylor Ham.) egg, and cheese) sandwich’s. It doesn’t matter if you order one on a roll or bagels here, some places do. The freshness, and quality of the said options are great they layer the sandwich perfectly and it’s truly a pleasure ordering from them multiple times a week.

This place is the best! I had a great experience last time I went. The food is amazing and fresh, costumer service is also great! I recommend coming here!

We just discovered this hidden gem last week and now it may be our hands down favorite place to get breakfast! Food is all around excellent and pretty reasonably priced. Def recommend the pancakes! Staff is friendly. Great place for a quick bite!

My brother and I go there for breakfast and the food is really good and fresh. They actually cook your home fries fresh for each order. I always get eggs over with bacon and of course with some fried potatoes. All the girls that work there are also very easy going and friendly.
