Maya Mexican Restaurant

The taco craving hit us one Sunday so we decided to pick some up on our way home from running errands, at around 1:30. There is street parking so if you wait around long enough, you’ll be able to get a spot. We had the birria tacos, al pastor, and lengua. We originally wanted to try the oreja and campechanos but they didn’t have it that day. These are probably the best quesabirria tacos I’ve had in the area. I’m normally not a huge fan because it usually ends up being soggy, and I don’t really like braised meat, as it tends to be dry. That wasn’t the case here. The tacos were still crispy 20 minutes later, and the meat wasn’t dry. It was stuffed to the max with beef and cheese. The broth was also very good and not watery like most other places tend to be. The al pastor tacos and lengua tacos were also very good. They’re a bit smaller than similar taco spots in the neighborhood but it’s quality over quantity here. If they added fresh pineapple to the pastor, it would have brought the taco over the top. I also enjoyed their homemade (sauces). They have a kick to it but be careful with the dark chipotle looking one. One drop of that, and you’ll be good.

Will definitely be back for some more tacos. Hopefully next time, they’ll have the oreja and campechano.

Me and my friend took a chance in this spot since there was already so many in the area …. And I’ll be coming back every time ! Customer service was top notch and very polite explaining the menu to me and sizes. Very quick timing on the food too and great flavor and taste on the tacos. Food came out fresh and HOT ! Which I absolutely love, many restaurants keep the food on hold or have it sitting but this came freshly off the stove. My friend had a bowl of steak & rice with beans and was absolutely in love as well ! Great food for the price and I definitely recommend

Great food. Beautiful decor. Great service. Street parking only. The horchata is a must have $30 and over free delivery in passaic only the the lady said as well. 20-30min wait usually food is fresh!

As a Gringo and a lover of Tacos this is review is a 100% legit. Best Damn Tacos I’ve had in over 10 years. The price was amazing and honestly I think they are short changing themselves. I ordered 12 steak and 6 shrimp and I swear every bite was a good as the last. I am so glad I found this place. I give it 10 stars.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! The food here is amazing! great quality and i have not been disappointed at all! i've been going here for quite some time and i just love the flautas & Taco al pastor here. Its so juicy and not spicy at all. the Nachos are also great and the salsa is Mild too which i like! I also love the jamaica drinks here! its so fresh and well made! Highly recommend and prices are very affordable and reasonable! THE SERVINGS ARE HUGE!!!

At first the place looked ok like it would disappoint and boy was I So wrong. And the decor is quite friendly tipycal to many other Mexican restaurants. but who gives a flying duck when the food is actually damned good location is CLEAN and NOT smelly like many other places I have been.Open your mind to classic street foods and Delicious new dishes

For me this experience was great delicious food always and will always be that the signature of great food everything was on. Point juicy meat the tacos were top 5 from all Passaic me and my family enjoyed a great afternoon of authentic Mexican food God bless them

We ordered from UberEats tonight and I have to say it was the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time! Huge portions, everything very fresh!

This place is underrated, Tacos at 1.25$ mi genteee....We order here frequently as a Mexican I have to say it's become on of my fav casual mexican spots... they have Aguachiles, the Tinga Tostadas are amazing (Chicken slow cooked in Tomato and Chipotle sauce), Tacos Al Pastor (pork) and Bistec (steak), and I ordered a side of nopales(grilled cactus) to complete the order. The place is family run and I love it feels like I'm home. Horchata is good not overly sugary and they have jarritos all the Mexican sodas...if you're looking for something authentic this is the spot dont forget to ask for both salsa Roja and verde!

I love their tacos and burritos. Overall the food is great and place is very clean. I highly recommend you try the homemade soft tacos with advocado and rice/beans.

The food is excellent, the service is spectacular, and the prices are reasonable... what else could you want. Definitely coming back!!!
