I came in looking for a new diverter for my shower knowing little to nothing about it.

Jackie was able to repair my current diverter and point me to a drain cleaner I also needed.

Not only was she wildly knowledgeable, but she was kind and friendly as well as able to share a few pointers with me. As a new homeowner I find people like her invaluable and will be stopping by again soon.

Came in today in need of specific nuts, bolts &/or screws for my outside coach lamp. Albert waited on me and was soooooo patient until he found the correct hardware. He assured me if it wasn’t right I could return the items but it was absolutely correct and I was able to fix the light post. I so appreciated his time and help. Thank you!

I am happy to share our experience with Matt Maggio and Spencer Bachmann from Oakland Ace Hardware. Both were equally determined to find the source of the problem with our Weber grill. After a long wait from Weber for parts needed (burners and manifold,) followed by 2 visits from Spencer (a kind, friendly and responsive technician) who replaced the parts and did everything he could to get it working both before and after a visit from our plumber who checked the gas line and power flow from the house and blew out debris that had collected in the flexible hose, and a final visit from Spencer to replace the flexible hose and the igniter, the grill still would not ignite.
After much back and forth with Matt about all that had been done, and a review of Spencer's significant efforts to get to the root of the problem, I asked more detailed questions to our plumber and shared my notes with Matt. As frustrated as we were, Matt insisted on coming back to our home this morning to see the grill for himself. He made a small adjustment to the positioning of the igniter which got our grill working to finish out the summer! There was not one interaction with Matt or Spencer on the phone, via email or in person where they weren't really interested in the fact that we were spending money to fix the grill and it still wasn't working. They care about the work they do, have confidence in their knowledge of grills, and just wanted us to be able to grill! We communicated with them all that the plumber had shared with us and we communicated with the plumber all that Ace Hardware had done and all of the parts that had been replaced. Eventually, Matt solved the issue with the positioning of the igniter and we were good to go. Not all hardware stores provide a grill cleaning and repair service, but Oakland Ace Hardware does. The staff members who schedule the appointments are friendly and responsive and when Weber parts delays occurred, they were great at keeping us informed. Hats off to Matt and Spencer for their determination and persistence in making sure our grill was fixed! Thank you so much. Great experience here. One of the biggest Ace Hardware stores I’ve seen, and staff were very polite and always asking if you needed help.

I am the customer of this store for over 20 years, way before it became Ace branch. Jim and his entire team operates as a Family. Very customer oriented, extremely attentive and supportive. I recently bought a Napoleon Prestige grill there and can't be happier with the experience - knowledge, care and support, all are just outstanding. Thank you.

Greatest local hardware store in the world. Helpful, knowledgeable staff walking the isles, good selection of supplies, great vibe and a ridiculously awesome selection of fun things you never knew you needed. I've been coming here for 20 years and have never needed to go somewhere else because they didn't have what I needed.

We are frequent shoppers at Ace. They are friendly, knowledgeable and always have what we're looking for. We recently needed a mailbox and purchased it from Ace. Joe came to our house and installed it the exact time we were scheduled and with great precision. We were very happy with it and highly recommend Ace for all your needs. Shop local!

I went to buy a smoker on a Sunday; they were quite busy. It took a few minutes for someone to help me, but when they did, they were very nice and helpful. The woman answered all of my questions, and was super nice. She pointed out that I could get a better deal if I bought a yeti cup ?! I also noticed that the prices were the same as on Amazon. I’d totally give them more business.

I am consistently happy with my experiences at Ace Hardware. They have a great selection of good quality items, fast and easy online order pickup, a very attentive and helpful staff, and the store is well organized and clean. I will definitely frequent them more often than other big box stores.

Great place. They can give you an advise on almost anything. I love the fact that I can buy individual screws instead of getting a pack of 100 in a larger stores, like Home Depot. Jessica is one of the most knowledgeable staff.

One young lady, knowledgeable helped me find all the supplies I needed for my project and actually knew what a tack cloth was and where to find it. Also gave advice on paint colors. 🎨

So convenient! Staff is incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and helpful! Great prices and extraordinary selection of products - they even have all these amazing products near the registers, like impulse items, but they are awesome, utilitarian impulse items unlike you've ever seen! Just overall fun atmosphere that makes buying the necessities a great experience. Great local shop in Oakland, NJ; I highly recommend stopping in, for anything you could need - paints, any kind of hardware, grills, mulch and soils for gardening, etc! Check it out! 😊

I needed some paint and Ace hardware is very close to my home so I decided to go to them instead of Home Depot, and I am impressed by the customer service, very fast service and very good selection of pretty much anything you need for household, the prices are very reasonable, easy in and out!
