Hidden Gem of a park! I been living in the area for about 2 months and I never bothered to explore this park for the lack of good pictures, but im pleasantly surprised at how cool and dense this trail is.

Its 100% covered by trees, it feels nice and shady with some challenging hills. I wouldn’t recommend taking dogs here because of the wild life but it’s certainly allowed.

It took me about 1 hour to walk the big loop and the whole time I felt like I was outside the city breathing fresh air.

This is the only natural forest in Manhattan. Some of the trees are at least 100 years old. The forest contains mature red oak and some of the largest tulip trees in the New York City. Overlook Meadow has great views of the Hudson River. Don’t miss the Clove and the Rock Formations. I posted a second map with a recommended route (purple trail) that offers good views and an immersive experience. Sections of the red trail next to the road were loud and there wasn’t much to see there anyway!

Lovely park, this place is really nice to visit in the fall, the colors are just magnificent. There are also some cool rocks and caves to scramble on and explore!

A secluded, majestic haven on the north tip of Manhattan. There are not many lush, unadorned parks like this, places not overcrowded, places where the hiker can wander and explore. Expect a steep elevation, but the exploring is not hard if you're reasonably fit. Springtime ensconces the park in an emerald wonderland, leaves erupting from wispy tree branches and tiny plants blowing in the hearty breeze. If you want to be apart from the rush of the city, come here and feel the transcendent beauty of solitude among a vibrant world of life.

One of the best parks in the city. It give a great idea of what manhattan's natural landscape probably looked like. The whole space is quiet and feels like a secluded personal area to walk, think, and enjoy a bit of nature.

Great park to visit at the beginning of November to see fall colors. On the plus side it is the last natural forest with salt marsh preserved in Manhattan and easy to get to from the metro stop. On the minus side it is in Manhattan so you may hear city noise and sometimes sport games going on which break illusions n if being in forrest ... Trails are very easy to walk and very well maintained.

Beautiful park filled with a wide variety of activities and a great way to disconnect from the urban environment next door. Massive amounts of green space, watch a community baseball game, climb up high and view the Hudson River from a high vantage point.

Nice local neighborhood park. Great size. Very close to the more well known Fort Tryon Park. There are some really remote trails in here, you almost feel like you're in the woods of Upstate NY. This a more natural park that has been reserved the way it was when the Lenape lived here. Includes a nice pond that feeds into the Hudson River and Harlem River.

Awesome hiking and mountain biking trails, basketball, baseball and tennis courts. I recommend visiting for views of the Hudson River, check out Overlook Meadow. There are different hiking routes and trees are marked in color corresponding to the routes. Nevertheless its easy to get loss. This parks feels like an escape from the city. You can access the Henry Hudson bridge North of the Park which connects Inwood in Manhattan to Spuyten Duyvil in the Bronx. The bridge charges a toll via car but the park entrance is free and accessible to cyclist and pedestrian. Note there are steps at the exit on the Bronx side of the bridge.

Part of the NYC park system, located at most Northern tip of the Manhattan Island, family friendly, yet still you can feel some last wilderness and the history of the land. There is a BBQ area at peninsula, if you bring BBQ set. There are many benches, picnic tables. The salt marsh is the great feature. You can enjoy trek on the hill finding quite a history of the Manhattan island.

I've been living in inwwod for a few years now. I absolutely love this park! I take my dog here almost daily to blaze the different paths. This park includes many historical bulletins and beautiful trails. If you really want something neat, go check out the Native American peoples caves. The trees almost mute the city completely in many spots and just when you think you've seen it all, you find something new!

This park was a place I’ve wanted to go for a long time. It is basically an untouched portion of NYC. The water views along with the bridges is just something great if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I came here on a warm December (40s Fahrenheit) day and came across maybe five people the entire time here.

Today was gorgeous out and I took my baby boy on a stroll around the park and water. Also spent about 45 minutes in the playground. It was phenomenal.

Gorgeous bit of nature in Manhattan. Came here on a fall Friday and met only a handful of people. The recent rain made wet leaves a bit treacherous for clambering on the cliff trail, but the rest of the trails were fine. Stay east of the hill and you can get away from car noise almost entirely. The stone commemorating the sale of Manhattan adds a historical touch. Highly recommend.

An underrated gem of a New York park, peaceful and tranquil, with many steep hills and trails that allow for meandering walks, access down to the Hudson River, and spectacular views of the Palisades and the Henry Hudson Bridge.
