New York Police Department 50th Precinct Station House

I never met Kevin M. Preiss. I was saddened to hear that he passed on. He gave alot love and work to the, Find A Grave organization. This Officer found my sister: Barbara Shaw (Mack) grave site at Calvary Cemetery. You see I had forgotten where she was buried. Kevin thanks for finding my sister for me. She passed so long ago and I had moved to Albuquerque with my family. I retired from the Albuquerque Police and now reside in Utah with my wife of 47 years. We both were born at Fordham Hospital. The real 5-0. Responds quickly to concerns. Courteous. They make Kingsbridge-Riverdale the community we are. As a reminder, officers must abide by professional courtesy even in the light of when others abuse state parking placards. Not fair but not on the department, more of a reflection on the individual.

Amazing experience. Needed a copy of a report. Staff was friendly and courteous. Thought it would take an hour, but I was in and out in 10 minutes.

The officer's are very friendly and helpful.

I went there today because my plate car was stolen and honestly my experience was nice. Mitchell helped I was in and out in 30 minutes. I would definitely come back here and look for Mitchell.

Not helpful

The worse of the worse. Don't answer the phone, no matter what time of day you call, forget weekends.. I tried flagging them down once and they ignored me. They change NCO's like you change your socks. I understand busy, but all the time? Come on now. What does a constituent do to resolve this? Our assemblyman tries to help, but to no avail. You call 311 to complain about double parked cars and they close it 3 minutes after you filed the complaint. 50 needs an overhaul.

The NYPD 50th precinct arrested me for defending myself when someone physically attacked me. The way I defended myself was legal, but the officer's arrested me. A female officer who handcuffed me through me against the NYPD vehicle. I stayed in the jail cell for about five hour's. They said you'll have to go to court in about a month. I found out that the charges were dropped, & I never had to go to court at all. The charges were dropped cause the officer's went against protocol. I did nothing illegal, & was arrested for no reason that is right. I literally Hate The 50th precinct. I have seen other precinct's that do not go against protocol like they do. I Pray the new Captain will fix it, & make sure the officer's are doing things properly.

Harassment & didn't feel safe with the way the officer reacted. Ruined a family vacation. Ready to park have my car in reverse & cops turn lights on & come to the car & ask for registration & license & we ask the officer why are we getting pulled over & His response was either you give me your papers or I will arrest you. All I thought was im pregnant & cant have this stress rite now. Received a summons for having a cover on our licence plate when we not even from New York. "Its a state law". Go back to my car a hour later and have another ticket for the same thing & from the same precinct. We suppose to like & feel safe with police this time it was not. Officers had his hand on his gun the whole time like we were criminals. This is out of control how it's ok to harass people but the real crime is not being taking care of.

The worst of the worst. The cops around this neighborhood drive around harassing people. On one of several interactions with the officers from this precinct, two detectives(one older guy and a younger guy) hop out a unmarked car, stop me in the middle of the street as I walk they push me against the wall, touching my pockets without consent or reasonable suspicion they asked for my name I gave it to them. They initially said it was because "I fit the profile for someone" . After violating my rights and embarrassing me as on lookers passed by they said they seen me walk up the same block twice so they assumed I had drugs . These are alot of dirty cops from this station. They have no problem violating rights and hiding behind a badge.

A month and a half after a burglary in our home, we still haven’t heard back from the detective squad, even after numerous calls for an update. They always say they will leave a note for the detective and get back to us. Still waiting to hear back. Not even a courtesy call

Stay FAR away from the 50th precinct! Their like sharks, they drive around all day harrassing the community, I cant even drive in my mercedes without them giving me dirty looks and staring me down. Extremely prejudice police offers coming from this station. I've been pulled over a total of 5 times in my life (21 years old) 2 years driving. And 4 out of 5 was from this precinct. For nonsense like tints when EVERYONE has tints in this neighborhood. Someone bring up this at a community board meeting .Extremely prejudice from the police officers to the captain.
