El Norte Mexican Restaurant, Sports Bar & Lounge

My coworkers and I have been coming to this place for a few years now. We just celebrated cinco de mayo and although the waiter was a little slow, the food and drinks were on point. Their margaritas are super strong and delicious. Chimichangas were perfect, the shrimp with salsa verde was great as well as their ceviche. Great after work place with plenty of parking, great drinks and food.

Best mexican food ever and prices are reasonable. Seriously, their food is so yummy, never ate or drank anything that wasn't delicious in this place. I recommend it 100%. Everything from their cactus looking glasses to the tablecloth, you can see they actually put some effort into it. Spacious parking space and big portions of food, I couldn't even finish my plate! It is just amazing, one of my favorite places without a doubt.

Great food, drinks and portions. The service was courteous. I had steak and chicken fajitas and my wife had Texas burrito with cheese on top. The steak and shredded beef in burrito was marinated really well and very tasty... We found another good Mexican restaurant!

Still the best authentic Mexican food in Northern New Jersey after 20 years!!! I have been gone that long from New Jersey but I was still leaving here when the first opened. Use to go with my parents and siblings quite frequently on the weekends for great food and Mariachis! Stopped in with a friend for a late lunch after all these years they are still as I remembered the best authentic Mexican Food in Northern New Jersey!! I told the server my story (she was amazing by the way!!)on how I use to go there back in the day when they first opened up and the food was still as delicious and authentic as when they first opened up...why??? The original chef is still there!!!! Thanks El Norte for taking me back to those great memories of my family and I enjoying great food, entertainment and service!!

I've always enjoyed the food here one dish in particular. Pollo Regio. I just went back after not having been there for about 10 years. It's still the same the food is still great. Everything is always perfect. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. Don't miss out you must go here!

Their nachos and salsa are my favorite of any Mexican restaurant in the area. The tostones, chicken enchiladas, Shrimp Poblano (green sauce), and shell steak all very delicious. We shared. Generous portions and sides. Great service, friendly servers, and the music is always uplifting. Always a good night out.

I sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and polite. The food was amazing I had a quesado appetizer that filled me up and the smell was incredible, the chicken grillled perfectly. I will definitely be coming back!

Great authentic and delicious Mexican food! Friendly and a fun atmosphere. Gets busy certain nights....Good place to have a party or celebration dinner. Large lot - plenty of parking.

I love everything about this place still I have to say the churrasco here is like no other place and the draft beers are always cold and served in an ice cold glass. So, I guess I do have my favorites! Thank you El Norte for always being a place I can count on.

Tucked off Rt. 46, El Norte has been around for years and servings the same refreshing frozen margaritas and delicious food as the more crowded La Fortaleza (long waits) or the larger El Asadero (pricier). Next time you want Mexican food, consider this place (the complimentary salsa is addictive and worth the trip alone).

Great atmosphere, nice people. I ordered pollo Mexicana and the chicken soup, it was great. I have been going here over 30 years and will still continue to go

Been coming to el norte for a long time great drinks, great food, and great people that work there like tony, diana, alex, and omar those are the people I usually see and take care of me when I go for a few drinks. I love the different types of music played by the djs on weekends which is diverse for everyone plus they close friday and saturday at 3am. Want something local with good food and drinks el norte is were you should stop by. Just ask for those people mention they will take care of you

Love this place. Diana, and her team are so friendly and very helpful. Fast service. NOBODY COMPARES. Great Mexican food!

Great ambiance. Quick service. Authentic food, but not too spicy. Mariachi bands play some nights! Recommend

Food was delicious and price was low. Had the beef burrito and the meat was seasoned just right. Easy parking.

Excellent excellent skirt steak! Staff is very sweet and attentive. Loved the rice and beans too!
