it is evident that Elena loves her work and pours her heart into it. la casita is more than a clothing shop and not just by inventory alone. Elena cares about your needs and not your money. let that sink in. this explains why tons of other shops in town have come and gone, while she has happily existed 50+ years.

her passion extends to the artists (whose work goes from jewelry to blankets) she dotes on in detail. after she helped me search for something sentimental last time w my daughter, after we left i said that she speaks of them like a proud parent. Elena made it clear that she won’t carry anyone in her shop who isn’t a good person as it’s not worth her time. i found this refreshing as most businesses are focused on profit, regardless of how people are treated and/or ripped off.

born and raised in ridgewood i miss its small town feel. Elena is real and stayed true to herself throughout my lifetime.

if you’ve never been to la casita, appropriately named as she makes you feel at home, then i strongly suggest you make time. at the very least you can see the beautiful glass jewelry using a technique created by NASA just ten years ago.

This is a gem! The people who work there could not be more helpful or more wonderful. The clothing is different and beautiful and wearable!!! So comfortable. The jewelry is gorgeous and also different. They have so many sizes too. It's a truly amazing store. No one is pushy. They are just there to offer suggestions if you want them. Go!!!
