Curls All Out

I went to this salon yesterday for the first time. I'm a Devachan loyalist - have been going to the Broome street location for my curly cuts for 10+ years until they recently closed that location this summer. Since then I've been trying to find a curly salon and a stylist I feel comfortable with. I decided to give Curls All Out a try because it's close to where I live. I recently had a baby and haven't had my hair cut in about 8 months. I give this shop and Iris 5 stars for the following reasons (1) she's very professional, polished and upfront about her service policies. I appreciate these qualities b/c there are no surprises and and her professionalism gave me confidence that she knew her craft well. She proactively explained what she was doing to my hair in detailed steps, including what products she was using and why and she also explained her technique thoroughly. (2) she gave me a great haircut. Even though the shape wasn't perfect at first, we got it there and she was very open to making adjustments along the way. (3) her price was reasonable / the going rate for a curly cut. (4) I was in and out within an hour. Overall great spot. A hidden gem!! I will be going back and referring other curly family and friends.

Amazing service, and so friendly. I visited on my vacation because I am originally from Hawaii. Bummed that I can’t come here often but, whenever I come visit Jersey, I will stop by to get my hair done. Mahalo!

I was looking for a kid friendly space for my stepdaughter because she’s a little tender headed and it was her first time ever getting a curly cut. Iris was super sweet, patient and did such a great job with her. The girl at the front desk, who I could not get her name, was also nice and friendly. I was expecting to pay much more than what I paid, due to my personal past experience getting curly cuts and the quality of work done. I will definitely be bringing her back and I might just book an appointment for myself.

AMAZING!! Iris did such a good job on my hair I am in love! And even my family members who were skeptical about me cutting my hair loved it too. She knows exactly what to do and which products are right for you. She is patient and willing to address all your concerns. Will definitely be coming back for future hair cuts and more!!

I absolutely love Iris! She is amazing! Very professional & humble. Great customer service. I always feel so comfortable there. She talks me through my hair routine and ensures Im happy with my cut and styling. If you have curly hair you have to come here!

From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed by Iris (owner)! She’s extremely sweet and knowledgeable, she walked me through the entire process of cutting and styling my hair (I had many questions, sorry lol!) I’m obsessed with my haircut & I’m receiving compliments Left & right!

💯 Great customer service and atmosphere. NOT your typical 'walk-in w/no appointment, chatterbox noise, or regular priced' hair salon. Concentration is on your natural curls and each of us have unique curls that requires an individualized maintenance plan which is why an appointment is required. Your assigned appointment provides you the time needed to go over the important details about your curls, the unique service required and helps customers realize the importance of natural and accepting it. Ms. Iris (owner) and Ms. Natasha got things down packed, organized and running. After my 1st visit, I recommended this place to familia and friends, and they were satisfied. Much needed hair cut, shaping and helping my curly hair. It wasn't just a cut but an educational experience. Rationale for cut, style and health of hair. Going back for my color and I know it will be the best!

This was the first time I got my hair cut by a curly hair specialist and it's beautiful!!! Natasha was incredibly professional, sweet, and so pretty. She shaped my hair so it no longer falls flat, and brought out my natural curls.
Also, Brittany, the woman who washed my hair was amazing. She was so personable, gentle, and sweet. She walked me through which products to use and how to use them so I left fully informed on how to take care of my hair at home.
I'm very very happy with my cut! I highly recommend this salon, Natasha, and Brittany <3

Very nice salon! Iris and her team are super welcoming and knowledgable about natural hair. Service is great. They made sure they took care of you. I was seen as soon as I got there (I made an appointment). My hair came out beautiful and I was given a lot of advice on products and tips on styling my hair.

The owner is a girlboss who does everything on her own. My girlfriend treated me here as a valentines day gift and it did not disappoint.

She explains everything she's doing and why and the result. What,why,how, are my favorite ways of explaining anything to anyone. Spaced out seats and very clean. The place is pretty nice location wise as well with several food options both on the same block and a Dunkin across the street.

I highly recommend it.

Great service and wonderful job on my hair! I've been disappointed with a lot of salons, but I left CAO quite pleased. Hours later, I had even more volume with very good curl definition. I really appreciate Iris's conservative approach--she preserved the highlights I had and recommended I wait 5+ months before I get another trim or any more color. I am confident that I will return despite it being out of my way.

Got a wash a style today, the shop is lovely. Iris is a sweetheart and my hair hasn't looked this good in 10 years!! I'm hooked! The first time I left a salon and was not disappointed or upset. If you have curly or wavy hair like me go see these ladies! They know what they are doing

Iris cut my hair and she was so lovely. My hair was a total triangle weird hippy frizz thing and she brought out curls EVERYWHERE. It was clean and everyone was super patient (I was a first timer for a curly cut). Great experience!

Natasha did my hair. These girls really know what they are talking about! She made me feel great about my hair again! The cut was fabulous! And they all are really nice and work well together! Definitely coming back!! Can’t wait for my next cut!

End result! Love it! Curls all Out in North Arlington did their thing honey 🍯! Not only was I impressed by the overall cut, I was impressed by their technique but also with their knowledge of the products and CURLY HAIR!!!!!!!!! I’ve been styling my hair WRONG all these years!! Iris is nothing short of amazing! She’s so humble but she delivers HARD! So thrilled with the cut and will never EVER go back to wet cuts. Thank you thank you thank you!

Today was my 2nd visit and Iris did an amazing job yet again! I love how she knows my hair and what I've learned is that NO ONE cuts curly hair like she does. I made an appointment with her AS SOON AS I got my hair done, regrettably, at another salon who advertised that they do natural hair. The other place blew my curly hair straight in order to cut layers in it (I should have left as soon as I saw the blowdryer) and it was all downhill from there. I showed Iris a picture of the shape that I wanted and she fixed it. She is the only person I will ever let cut these tresses and I am so grateful for the work that she does!

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I was so impressed with my haircut. Iris did a wonderful job. She listened to what I wanted and walked me through every step of my deva cut. I walked away happy and confident. I will definitely return.

After years of fighting my natural hair and straightening obsessively, I'm finally transitioning to the way my hair was meant to be! I told Natasha to do whatever she thought was best to get my hair on the right track and I couldn't be happier. The salon is cute, clean, and friendly, and I can't wait for my next appointment!
