Square Cat Vinyl

Very fun place! We had breakfast burritos and lattes and enjoyed browsing- esp looking through the $3 bin. Found a couple things, confirmed by the listening areas they have to play records with headphones. Everyone was nice and extra helpful. They even arranged to mail us back the hat we lost there! ❤

The staff is friendly and seem to know / remember your regular drinks ordered. They are awesome! We love their lattes, cappuccinos, chia tea and breakfast burritos.

Such a great vibe and amazing decor. One of the coolest record shops I've been to! It even has a small stage as well as a coffee shop inside!

This is a groovy little gem! I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable atmosphere, great tunes, and great coffee! The barista was very cool, he was very helpful with ensuring there was no dairy in my mocha, and was quick to accomodate any request. Great selection of vinyl, and quite a few beer choices as well! A great spot to come and get some work done, just hang out, or find your next rockin' vinyl! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Indy!

Loved this store! They had an incredible selection of records, new and used. Though we didn't partake, I love that you can get coffee, wine, and beer there as well. Loved the retro furniture and listening nooks. We stopped here at the beginning of a multi-state camping road trip, and my husband bought a record. They were happy to ship it to our home so we didn't have to risk it getting crushed or warped in the heat. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved this store. You can find just about any album in this store. The owner of the store was in during our visit, was very friendly and helpful. It is amazing inside, definitely a place everyone needs to check out. Will definitely be back.

This is quite simply one of the best, coolest record shops in Indy. Ownership and staff are friendly and knowledgeable, pricing is very fair.

Folks who think this shop is overpriced and/or unfriendly can get all the Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift records they desire at the Beech Grove Wal-Mart.

Super awesome find in Fountain Square! There is a little bit of everything: vinyls, beer, coffee, pastries, live music and DOGS! Well the store itself doesn't have dogs but the location is pet friendly! Great atmosphere to chill and listen to some live music. The bartender/ barista was so friendly and gave great service. The coffee is made in house and tasted great. The beer selection was local and lengthy. Absolutely coming here again!

Nice selection. Staff is friendly. Good mix of old stuff and new. However, music genres are sort of mixed up.

I haven’t even been here and I love it. I have been on the hunt for a very specific Taylor swift vinyl and called other stores where the workers were rude and snippy all bc I asked about Taylor. I understand she’s super big and they might be tired of being asked but it’s still so incredibly rude. HOWEVER, I had the most amazing phone call with a female worker from here just now (wish I got her name) but she was SO nice and understanding. Though they didn’t have the vinyl she was nice enough to inform me that they have had it in the past and explain how their relationship with Taylor’s merch works! I do not live close to this store but will definitely be driving out of my way when they do restock it to fund this company:)

Edit: I called back to get her name (Kat) and she answered the phone with “it’s you!!” Such a sweetheart, you deserve a raise babe!

We went for Hip Hop night. It was open Mic. There were a number of MC's. It's awesome to know that there is a high level of artistry that exists in Indianapolis and there are places for them to express themselves.

A really really neat store! They have a stage for small events and even a coffee/snack bar! They had everything very neatly organized and everyone in the store was enjoying just being surrounded by large discs of music. I think the prices were great too!

Vibe and atmosphere was spot on. Loved the coffee bar as well.
However, be warned. We bought 2 vinyls from the $3 bins and both are completed warped and unplayable. Partly my fault for not inspecting or playing first, but a little disappointing coming from a vinyl store.
Lesson learned 🙂

Awesome business. Huge selection of records and accessories. Coffee shop on the premises with great local roasted coffee. Large menu. Also live music. They also do it up big for National Record Store Day.
