I highly recommend this course. All the instructors were phenomenal. The environment was great, clean and plenty of foliage. Dave was there and involved and is humble as can be and treats everyone with respect unlike many famous people. I plan on taking as many courses as possible, and learning from all the AMAZING instructors these guys at S.R.O. are truly awesome.

What an amazing company. Without going through the whole story I can say that I had an issue with an order of equipment that was caused not by the Self Reliance but by the shipping company. But SR stepped up and saved our Xmas. I highly recommend them. Wonderful people. I can’t thank them enough.

Self Reliance Outfitters offers a very comprehensive selection of top quality gear for the outdoorsman. Whether for camping, survival, hunting, trapping or bushcraft/woodcraft, they most likely have what you will need. They are very quick to get your order to you and stand behind their products 100%. If something isn’t right or doesn’t perform as expected, they have customer service second to none. This is a family owned and operated business located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Their line of outdoor cooking gear, especially their stainless steel line, is very affordable and the perfect companion for cooking great meals in camp. They have a YouTube channel where instructors demonstrate the use of their gear in the field and offer quick tips to help make your outings more enjoyable.

I Recently received my highly anticipated Pathfinder Scout Pack from SRO and it did not disappoint. The pack was the new Earth Brown and the material seemed very rugged and all buckles and straps felt strong and high quality. The roll top design worked great for packing my gear effectively and making the most of the space. The packs two water bottle pocuhes were fantastic, almost no packs I found online have this feature. Thanks alot. Customer for life.

I have purchased quite a bit of gear from SRO. I've never been let down by the quality and the customer service. I do wish all of their gear was american made. I recently purchased the PKS Scorpion with Curly Maple handle and leather sheath. Extremely happy! Great solid knife and thick high quality durable leather sheath. Keep up the great work! All Items are of great quality and are, "as- advertised." IF however you ever need their customer service(?), they are exceptional !!! I have made four purchases "packages" from them and only had a concern about one specific item. They sent me a return envelope and promptly sent me a warranty replacement. Take comfort in knowing that they care about their customers. Kudos to a great group of people! Highly recommended!

This company is outstanding! I've purchased plenty of items from them and all have been top notch. The one issue I had with an item that was damaged was solved immediately and a new one sent out in literally 30 seconds from me speaking with customer service. Great job SRO. I ordered the 1lb. 36# twisted tarred bank line. My order came on time, of correct weight, and of (in my opinion, and for what I'm using it for) best of quality and price. I had an inquiry of my order via phone, and thecustomer service representative was professional and helpful in answering my questions.

Most amazing customer service. I ordered a few products separately from Self Reliance Outfitters for the first time. I had a problem with a seal on one item and they immediately sent me a new replacement top. They have responded within an hour to other emails I have sent. I would highly recommend them.

I have purchased multiple items from this store, and the items are probably the best out there. Yes, some items are made in China, but after some hard use, it would seems those items were made in America they performed so well! The customer service is excellent. If you have a problem with a blade or something else, the staff does their best to get to the bottom and find a solution. Overall, great gear and great staff!

There are lots of places to purchase gear, but SRO consistently has the best selection of quality gear. The gear is tested by Dave, Jamie or one of the other staff.
I have checked pricing against other places and you won’t find better overall pricing anywhere.
Some items are made in China, primarily the stainless products. That’s where stainless is made today. SRO has their own branded products and they have control over quality. Don’t hesitate to buy it because it’s made in China.
I’ve been buying stuff here for 3 years and always had great customer service. I highly recommend SRO.

I've had absolutely great experiences with this company. I can't speak for their current gear, but back in 2017 some of their MOLLE bags such as the one that comes with the Pathfinder nesting cup, weren't that great. 2019 I bought something else that came with a MOLLE bag (the Pocket Hunter, I think), and that bag was a lot better, and didn't start fraying right away like the nesting cup bag from 2017.

Even with fraying, the bag has held up well, and nothing on it is actually functionally damaged. I have bought a great amount of gear from SRO over the years since, and most things are pretty high quality, and exactly what I wanted. Even their PKS knives are fantastic, though I wish they offered a sheath for them like the one that Mora Gargberg comes with.

I only had a delayed order one time, and when I reached out to Dave E. promptly told me that there was one item out of stock, which I got refunded, and the order was sent to me immediately after. Excellent service, great products.

I’m very happy with both the leather belt pouch and the mini inferno I ordered. The pouch is very nicely made and I’m sure I will get years of use from it. The mini inferno is a hand bit of kit to have on hand when conditions are not helpful to make a fire. I have yet to make a purchase from Self Reliance outfitters I have not been happy with.

If your looking for camping and survival tools this is the place to go. The staff at Self Reliance Outfitters are great! They are very knowledgeable on their products and carry all the answers to your questions. They also do seminars though out the year on the weekends that are listed at the shop or online. A great way to learn something new at no cost. If you like knives or want to start making knives you need to stop in and check out their knife making kits. Stop in and support a great local business!

Absolutely a great experience. I was outfitting my kids Haversacks for the Pathfinder Youth Outdoor Training (Trailblazer). Jamie immediately greeted us as we walked in the door. He helped us with all of our needs and gave us recommendations on which products he suggested. We even got a little tutorial on wilderness First Aid. When he couldn't find what we were looking for in the store he was quick to look in their inventory and had another employee (Dave?) looking as well. As we were leaving he invited us to come join him and his kids for some knife safety at Southeastway park the next day. Thanks, we will be back.

As far as the store goes, they had a great selection of top end lower range outdoor supplies so you can decide how much you want to pay for what item. (Wish my wallet was deeper) The store was clean, well lit, and offered complimentary coffee as we shopped.

Excellent staff and products. Jamie Burleigh is very knowledgeable about all things outdoors and primitive skills. He will talk with you as long as necessary and doesn't mind if you spend a lot of time in the store.

Just received my camp cookset. Survival canteen set, skillet and 64 oz. Bushpot. I'm impressed with the quality and how everything fits. Top quality even for the Chinese. Sro must have had a lot of input on quality control. I recommend it to any serious camper. Ps. If you get the bushpot get the rack that fits inside it. Great for baking. Just lay the bushpot in a bed of coals and put the rack inside. Look up bacon wrapped onion bombs in the bushpot.

This is a very calm and relaxed business. I personally analyze everything when it comes to self reliance and since I can't buy the entire store at once, I need time to think. The employees are there when you need them but they won't pester you. They have no problem with me staring at fishing line for an hour. Product quality is top notch and everything in this store can actually save your life.
The bottom line is this:
Food, Fire, Water, and Shelter. Everything you need is right here. Do you need custom kydex work for just about anything you can imagine? What about hunting, fishing, or trapping supplies? Self Reliance Outfitters has you covered there too.
This is one of the most important kind of stores to have around in today's world.
