Homestead High School Environmental Center

I've been walking around here since I can remember. The woods has gotten trimmed back quite a bit. I would have rather seen that time put into the Walden center. But what's left is still great.

Wonderful place to walk a dog in the woods on the Southwest side of Fort Wayne featuring nature trails, foot bridges, two ponds, a cabin and a picnic pavilion. Avoid trying to go when school is letting out, it's not easy to get there when the elementary school car line is backed up, it's the same driveway to the environmental center parking lot.

This place is one of the nicest environmental centers that I have been to. It has a pond, a cabin, an outdoor classroom, and plenty of trails to walk about. The cabin is almost always locked, but it has a nice porch area. One time I carved pumpkins there and it was very fun. This has only a little bit of stuff to do but that is okay becuasr it is very fun. I am trying to make this post lonfer because I will get more points if it is long.

Wonderful out of the way nature haven. Very few people know about it but it's great for a jog or quick trip with the kids.

Great place to experience a mature Indiana woods, maintained by the students, staff, and teachers of Homestead High Scool.
